Margaret hesitated. She knew she needed to get Metagross to the pokemon center, but she didn't want to leave Aleron alone.

"Go on, I'll be fine. I won't try to go up there again." Aleron started making a big circle around the tower, trying to decide how to calm the giant bird down.

Margaret hesitated a moment longer before running back to the pokemon center. She needed to get Metagross taken care of.

Aleron just observed the bird pokemon, trying to figure out how to make it calm down or go somewhere else to blow off steam.

Metagross was immediately taken in to be cared for, and Margaret stayed with him. She was worried about Aleron, but she couldn't leave her pokemon while he was still so hurt.

Aleron frowned as she continued looking around. She had no idea how to get Ho-oh to move, short of throwing things at the bird pokemon.

Margaret stayed in the pokemon center. Once Metagross was moved to a regular recovery room, she went to sit next to him. Now that she knew he would be okay, her worry shifted completely to Aleron.

Out at Bell Tower, Ho-oh was still raging. Its attention was pulled from the human girl on the ground when it spotted something racing through the trees. With a shriek, it spread its wings and took off, following the dog.

Aleron took off after the bird, trying to figure out what had distracted it. Once she heard a familiar growling roar, however, she stopped. One of the dogs running through, and distracting Ho-oh. She was pretty sure they didn't normally interact that much.

Margaret noticed when the commotion outside calmed down, and she wondered what had happened. Metagross rumbled a bit as he woke up, and Margaret laid a hand on one of his limbs.

"Easy, buddy," she said softly. "Everything is alright. You did great, your Light Screen was amazing."

Aleron managed to catch a glimpse of Suicune running through the trees, with Ho-oh following, and then she stopped and headed back into town, frowning deeply. What exactly was going on? Legendaries normally didn't interact.

Margaret glanced over when Aleron finally came in.

"What happened?" she asked. "Did it vanish or what?"

"Suicune ran through here and Ho-oh took off after it," Aleron said with a frown. "I've never seen something like that happen before. I've never even heard of the legendaries interacting like this."

"I've heard of legendaries fighting each other," Margaret replied. She kept one hand on Metagross's side. "The Bird Trio fights each other all the time, when they happen to meet. Very rarely do they ever get along. But this? This is weird."

"This is extremely weird." Aleron sighed. "I have no idea what's going on. I don't like this."

"Something must be really wrong," Margaret said. She thought for a moment. "There's a rumor that a legendary lives in Pokemon Cave, back in Cerulean," she said. "Supposedly, it understands human speech. I have enough badges to get in, they only require the eight from Kanto, I mean, if we wanted to go in and poke around..."

"Yeah," Aleron agreed. "That could be interesting and potentially helpful. If you want to go I'll go over with you, maybe sneak in myself."

"There's a guy who guards the entrance to the Cave," Margaret said. "But I mean, between us, we have sixteen badges. He might let us both in for that, and I have all of the Kanto badges, which is usually what they look for simply because Pokemon Cave is in Kanto."

Aleron nodded. "And I'll have all but one of the Johto badges soon," she said. "Maybe I'll even get a few Kanto badges along the way. See if he'll stop us then." She grinned briefly.

"Well, between Saffron and Cerulean, you can get two badges," Margaret said. "The Marsh Badge from Saffron, and the Cascade Badge from Cerulean. Saffron is like the central hub of Kanto, and you can get almost anywhere in the region from there. It connects at least four other cities, three of which are gym-cities."

Aleron nodded. "That sounds good to me. I'll have nine badges by then, that should be good enough. And you'll have fifteen, unless we go over to the last gym city before going back to Pokemon Cave."

"I have ten right now," Margaret said. "I want to get the one from this town, which will make eleven, and there are two gyms between here and Dragon Cave, according to my map, which will make thirteen." Rummaging through her bag, she pulled out her Magnet Pass. "This will get us back to Kanto, and then we can head to Pokemon Cave."

"Awesome," Aleron replied. "That all sounds like a good plan to me. We'll go check that out, see what's going on, and get badges along the way. And possibly some pokemon." She paused for a moment. "And hopefully not run into any more angry legendaries."

"I've heard that Pokemon Cave is full of rare pokemon," Margaret said. "Things like Absol and Ditto, and all sorts of evolutions like Machoke and Wobbuffet. It's supposedly part of the reason that the place is only accessible to people with eight badges or more."

"Not to mention the rumors of a legendary that understands human speech," Aleron said. "I'm sure they still get all kinds of gloryhounds in there searching for the strongest pokemon." She rolled her eyes. She didn't care about the 'strongest' pokemon. She loved all her pokemon, and she was more into breeding and caring than battling, although battling was fun. Just so long as you didn't do it too often.

"That too," Margaret replied. "I don't know what type the legendary is. I doubt anyone actually knows, but that doesn't stop people from trying to get in." She grinned. "It would be funny if it was a normal-type. Nothing actually special about it."
