"Oh we noticed," Margaret said. "That's why we came to Kanto. We wanted to see if the same thing was happening here. The Birds have a habit of trying to kill one another on a good day, so if something stirred them up too..." She shuddered a little bit. "Which kind of leads us to now. Our first stop was going to be the Cave."

The legendary nodded. "They have not been stirred yet, but I do not suspect it will take long, now that the others are upset. Order needs to be regained, or we all may be doomed."

Margaret's Espeon murmured something under her breath, and oddly, Margaret herself had had the very same thought: well, that's not encouraging.

"Weird things have been happening the last couple days," Margaret said. "I'm not sure if it's because of this whole mess or some other thing, but I mean... We were normal until like three days ago, then everything started happening."

"So something happened to disturb them three days ago," the legendary mused. "You have no idea what?"

"None whatsoever. I haven't seen anyone around acting suspiciously or anything." Aleron shrugged, looking over at Margaret.

"I don't think so..." Margaret trailed off. Her Espeon nudged her and gave her a pointed look. "Wait, no. My dad was acting weird earlier, remember?" Margaret looked at Aleron. "When we were at Silph. He was acting strange, and I have no idea why."

"That's true," Aleron admitted. "He didn't react to me, though. And I think that has more to do with your being able to understand the pokemon than anything."

"Curious." The legendary looked at them, frowning just a little.

"But he didn't react, that's the thing," Margaret pointed out to Aleron. "I don't think he was surprised to see you. I know something is up, I just don't know what." She sighed.

"I suggest we find out," the legendary said. "Before things become even more unbalanced."

"Sounds like a good idea to me," Aleron agreed.

Margaret thought for a moment.

"I might be able to talk to my dad," she said. "But I don't know how much I'll be able to get out of him." She paused for a moment. "His Blaziken might know something, but I have no idea how much."

"I can check and see," Aleron offered. "I don't know how much we'll be able to find out about the other legendaries, though."

"I'm sure we can figure out something," Margaret replied. "If nothing else, we have the Seafoam Islands as a starting point, I'm fairly sure people have spotted Articuno out there. I don't know about the other two, though."

"Yeah, I know nothing." Aleron shook her head. "I have no idea where we'd find anything."

Margaret sighed a bit. They were still no closer to having any actual information, and it unnerved her to be so in the dark about everything. Her Espeon seemed to understand her tension and stayed close to her.

Aleron sighed. "We'll find out some things eventually."

"Yes. We will leave early to find the source of the problems." The legendary didn't ask.

Margaret blinked.

"'We'?" she repeated. Was he really planning on going with them?

"Yes," the legendary replied. "You have no defense against the legendaries should anything happen to anger them again."

Aleron couldn't help but nod. He had that right.

Margaret didn't protest. She didn't have to. Metagross immediately rumbled something about how he had been able to deflect Ho-oh's Sacred Fire, but Margaret rapped her knuckles on his side.

"Hush, you," she said. "That nearly melted your hide, don't deny it."

The legendary nodded his approval. "You two should rest. We will have much to do tomorrow."

Aleron sighed quietly but nodded, moving so she could settle down to sleep.

Margaret nodded as well, but paused when she realized she had one more question.

"What should we call you?" she asked. "I figure you already know our names, since it's pretty obvious you're psychic."

"Mewtwo," he replied after a few moments. "You can call me Mewtwo."

Margaret blinked.

"Why does that sound familiar...?" she mused. "Wait, I remember reading that file. My parents forgot to encrypt it, and I opened it by accident. It made no sense to me, though."

Mewtwo chose not to comment on that, instead just moving back a few steps. "Sleep now."

Aleron shrugged. She didn't know anything about Mewtwo, so she decided to just take his advice and try to get some sleep.

Margaret didn't say anything else on the subject, instead trying to push Exeggute and Natu off of her.

"Come on, you two, honestly," she said affectionately to them. "Go sleep on Metagross, you know he doesn't mind." The two pokemon were reluctant to leave her lap, but eventually moved just enough so she could settle in to sleep. They snuggled right back in with her afterwards, though. Metagross settled himself a little ways off to the side, away from the fire but still well within range of his trainer.

Aleron got settled in for the night, Vulpix settling in next to her.

Margaret rolled her eyes at essentially getting 'swarmed' by her pokemon, but it had happened many times before with her Exeggute, so it didn't bother her as she fell asleep.
