Margaret watched as Vulpix went to comfort the baby Suicune.

"Things just got more complicated," she murmured to Aleron.

"No kidding," Aleron muttered, watching the two interacting. At least the little Suicune wasn't running away while it was still vulnerable.

"What are they saying?" Margaret whispered. She couldn't understand any of it, but she knew Aleron could at least understand Vulpix.

"Vulpix is reassuring it. Him, I think," Aleron said quietly. "Telling him what's going on, that we'll keep him safe until he's stronger, that sort of thing."

"If we don't find his parent in a couple of days, one of us may have to catch him so nobody tries to steal him," Margaret said softly. "We can always release him later on, that's not a problem."

"Yeah, I know," Aleron agreed quietly. "For now, though, I think he's okay. We'll need to keep him hidden from everyone else. You know people are going to freak out if they see him."

"How are we going to escape town, then?" Margaret asked. The pokemon center was literally in the center of the town, after all.

"Hide him in one of our bags? Or carry him out." Aleron frowned.

"Maybe if we left at night," Margaret replied. "Fewer people around. We just need to get out of town, after that we can stop and wait till morning."

Aleron nodded her agreement. "That sounds good. We can leave tonight and then stop somewhere and settle down. First we have to make sure no one sees him before then, though."

Margaret got up from her cot and looked out the windows. It was still an hour or so before daybreak, and she didn't see anyone out and about.

"Actually, if we hurry, we might be able to go now," she said.

"Alright, let's go." Aleron grabbed all her stuff and shoved it in her bag before looking at Vulpix. The pokemon quickly explained to Suicune what they were doing, getting the little pokemon to come with them.

Margaret gathered up her things, as well, and recalled her pokemon. It would be much easier to sneak out without a big Metagross following her or an Exeggute chattering the whole way. The Suicune looked at them all uncertainly.

Vulpix nudged Suicune encouragingly, sticking close to the little pokemon and keeping him soothed. Aleron didn't move yet, making sure Suicune wasn't going to just run off.

Suicune got to his feet, still wobbly and unsure. After a little more encouragement, though, he took a few steps to try to get the hang of walking. It didn't take long.

Vulpix kept encouraging him, prancing around him and nudging him for encouragement. Aleron couldn't help but smile at the two.

Margaret picked up her bag and settled it on her shoulders again once Suicune had his feet under him.

"We're going to need to go soon," she said. "Elsewise we might not make it out of town before people get out and about."

Aleron nodded and started walking, glancing at Suicune every once in a while to make sure he was still with them while she walked. She only saw one person, and he didn't even look at them as they left town.

Margaret glanced around, making sure that there weren't too many people around. She saw the same person Aleron did, and was relieved when the man didn't even glance at them. She was even more relieved when they made it to the edge of town.

Aleron kept walking, just relaxing the farther they got from town. They wouldn't be able to stick to the trails, since a lot of trainers passed along them, but they didn't need to get too lost.

Margaret was half-expecting to see the parent Suicune as soon as they got outside of town, and was kind of surprised when they didn't. It was partially a good thing, though, since she really didn't want it to attack them.

Aleron just kept walking, keeping off the paths and looking around all the time. She didn't want to run into anyone just yet. The baby Suicune looked curious but nervous.

Margaret walked behind her, keeping an eye out around them. The woods seemed quieter than usual, but not so quiet that something was wrong.

Aleron couldn't help but laugh when Suicune tripped over a branch and then scrambled up and hissed at the branch.

Margaret couldn't help but giggle a little. The Suicune was just so adorable.
