"Then training together would be a good idea," Margaret agreed. "I want to start working with Natu, as well. It's about time she learns how to battle, especially if we're going to be running into trouble every so often like we seem to be so far."

Aleron nodded. "Yeah, that sounds like a good idea. I think she's old enough now. Besides, she will need to learn eventually."

"Exactly," Margaret replied. "And being part-flying, it'll be good for her to train against an electric-type." Stretching a bit, she opened her bag and checked on the egg. It was the same as when she put it into the bag earlier, and she could still hear the faint humming in the back of her mind. The humming seemed... content, somehow.

Aleron rolled her eyes. "You're hovering," she informed her friend lightly as she settled down again, Vulpix in her lap. She just thought it was hilarious.

"Hush, you," Margaret said, sticking out her tongue. "I can still hear it, in the back of my head, and it's really weird. I have no idea how it's doing that."

Aleron shrugged, not worried about it. At all.

"It's a psychic type. I learned to stop questioning that long ago." Then she shrugged again. "Besides, I thought you liked it?"

"It's not...bad," Margaret said. "It's not unpleasant. But I've never heard anything like it from any other psychic type. Maybe because it's Mew?" She looked at the egg, and then covered it again and closed her bag.

"Could be. I mean, who knows what this thing can do?" Aleron shrugged. Then the thought occured to her that they might find out, and she quickly looked around for something else to think about.

"Well, I think I'm gonna go sleep. More traveling tomorrow, after all."

Margaret nodded.

"Good idea," she said. Unrolling her sleeping bag, she set up her 'bed' for the night, not even blinking when Natu fluttered over and snuggled in next to the pillow.

Aleron nodded and rolled out her own sleeping bag, settling down there for the time being. She stretched briefly before Vulpix settled down next to her. She could see Jolteon still quite content to snuggle up with Espeon.

"Night," she called quietly to the group in general.

"Night," Margaret replied. Glancing around one more time just so she knew where all of her pokemon were, she settled down to sleep. She thought it was a little unusual for Espeon not to be at the foot of her sleeping bag, but she wasn't worried about it. Espeon and Jolteon would keep an eye on one another, so to speak.

Aleron woke up earlier than normal the next morning and got ready to go, glancing around. Something was making her uneasy, but she wasn't sure what. Automatically, she glanced in Margaret's bag to check on the Mew egg, just in case.

Margaret woke up earlier than usual, too. She wasn't sure why, but she hadn't been able to sleep well as it got closer and closer to morning, and when she finally did decide to stay awake, she could hear the humming in her head from the egg a little louder than usual. It wasn't the contented humming from before, though. Rather, this was more of an uneasy sound, and it made Margaret herself uneasy just hearing it.

Aleron hadn't been up for long when Mewtwo appeared.

You still have the egg. Mewtwo didn't sound surprised. Are you certain you will not give it up?

To Margaret's credit, she didn't jump this time. At least, too badly. She turned around to face him.

"I'm sure," she replied. She pointed at her bag, where the egg still was. "Why is it humming, and how do I get it out of my head?"

Mewtwo blinked. I was unsure if you would hear it. It is letting you know how you feel. There is no way to stop it.

"I hear it, you hear it, they hear it," Margaret said, gesturing to her own pokemon for the last bit. Then she made a vague gesture towards Aleron. "She doesn't hear it. That means it's some sort of psychic-type thing and can be blocked or turned off somehow."

She doesn't hear it because she cannot understand your pokemon. Mewtwo looked at Margaret. There is no way to turn it off, as you say. It is the pokemon talking to you.

"So it's just going to keep humming until it hatches, then?" Margaret asked. "How long will that take?"

Mewtwo didn't shrug, but he managed to give the impression. It is hard to say. It could be today, it could be in a month. I have no way of knowing. When the little one is ready to emerge.

"That's not helpful," Margaret grumbled. Really, she didn't whine. Honestly. "It'll be on the train ride, I just know it..." Because it would be just their luck that the egg hatched in the middle of a crowded train. "Or even worse, in the Silph building..."

Mewtwo just looked at her, completely unamused. He looked at the egg.

You will simply have to deal with it.

Margaret just groaned a bit and put her face in her hands, mentally reminding herself that it was a bad idea to get into an argument with a being that could read her mind if he wanted to, and it was an even worse idea to piss off one of the most powerful psychic-types ever.

Mewtwo did not say anything for several moments before he snorted quietly.

Since you seem so distressed already, I will take you to Saffron.

Margaret looked up at him. She hadn't specifically SAID anything about going to Saffron, but hey, she'd mentioned the train and Silph Co, so maybe it was obvious. Or she was thinking it really loud, one of the two. Still, she wasn't about to argue.

"Okay," she said.
