@Iku: Yeah...stopped getting gifts after I turned 18. Though even back then, I usually get my gifts a few months before Christmas...I'd be, "Hey I want that..." Parent: "Ok, but you're not getting anything for Christmas then." Me: "Oh, ok." :XD

CHILI.
Can't eat that with an upset stomach though. That'd just make it worse. :XD

Upset stomach, Hidan? (Sorry, that's how the Japanese-reader in me pronounces your name... or "Tobidan," but that's wrong in either language.) Ginger ale. Crackers. Nothing acidic. Avoid milk, too, unless you know for a fact you have no lactose intolerance. There's also the eternal solution of baking soda in water. Always works for me.

(Yeah, it's Hidan. :))
Unfortunately I'm at work right now and the only thing I've got is a carton of tiramisu milk tea.
I'm not lactose intolerant, at least I don't think I am, so milk should be alright...though I've been known to get stomachaches from drinking too much milk first thing in the morning.

I have a permanently upset stomach because I took on too much stress in graduate school, so I know a lot about taking care of poor tummies. I'm not supposed to have anything acidic (but I cheat, I love my tomato sauce and oranges and onions) or spicy (ha! my tongue can't handle spice, so I'm safe there), and I'm lactose intolerant on top of it. I've sworn off caffeine several times, and each time reminds me why I do so much better without it. Green tea, of all things, is the worst for my stomach -- no, that's not true. Mint tea is the worst. :( I love mint, too.

One of my advisors is a friendly, fatherly type, and has often let me burst into tears in his office when the stress just got to be too much for me. Usually he offers tea, or to take me over to the university cafe for coffee, but when I found out that my stomach was feeling strange because of caffeine, and told him, he said, "What, am I supposed to offer you a glass of water?" LOL, or at least it was hilarious when it happened. Somehow the story just doesn't tell well after the fact...

Yummm. And I agree. Home food!

Aww. I think that since my birthday is kind of around Christmas, it was kind of .... "here's some gifts!" at random times. XD That's kind of what happened with me though too. Once I wanted a stereo for my birthday, but it was no where near my birthday. So my mom got it for me, but then nothing on my birthday.

Yusss. I'm excited for chili!

Oooh, I should get pixel art of my kitties!

@Scholar: Oh wow, that sucks! I don't know what I'd do if I had to give up eating all the good foods that I love. Especially tomato sauce, onions, various spices (not the hot kind), and tea. :(
I usually just let it rest for a bit. At most, make a few trips to the restroom, but I still go on eating them even if I know they give me upset stomachs...

@Iku: Haha, like a really early Christmas/birthday gift. I remember wanting a katana and the clothes to go with it back when I wanted to learn Laido, but they were kind of expensive (ok, very expensive) so my parents said the katana's the birthday gift and the clothes are the Christmas gift. :XD

Hidan, is your birthday near Christmas? I suffer from that -- my birthday is January 12. My best friend's is January 22, so she sympathizes with me. ;)

Anyway, I'm almost out of food and need to check my laundry, then run some errands to make sure the government will let me back in after I return from the US.... so I'm logging off for now. Back later!

@Scholar: Nah, it's the 17th of February, which is nearer to the Chinese New Year instead. I remember one year when it was exactly on the 1st of the Lunar calendar...that was fun. Got money and pizza. (pizza being my preferred form of a 'birthday cake' :P)

Well, I still need to work out some stuff like the settings and all, but pretty much, yeah. :XD *hugs computer*

I've installed Oblivion and have set it at 'Ultra Quality', which I haven't tested out yet...

Yeah, if it can't even handle Oblivion at ultra quality, I don't think I'd even want to try Skyrim...
