@Rena: Yuck, being sick with a sore throat is awful. I hate the way cough drops gum up my teeth! I found that what works best for me is having a thermos of hot water with some honey in it. Other people swear by having lemon, but the lemon is always counterproductive for me. The honey is really soothing, though.
