And of course when I'm going to go on vacation, there's gonna be a cold front hitting so the temperature will plummet to near-zero and freeze my arse off.

Yeah. I've heard that for the really long-distance ones it can take up to several days just driving across the country in the states. (and Canada, as their width is about the same...) Seems scary having to drive for so long.

Nisty; it's been way down in the negatives here lately, and every other day is freakin' blizzard. we have a crap ton of snow, it's nuts.

@Nim-san: More like, boring! If you make it into like a trip in itself, it's not so bad. I wouldn't mind doing that if we had the money. Just take a good bit pf planning.

@Clock: Given the recent disaster and the current weather, I'm fine skipping New York for now. I mostly want to go to Disney World because it's not too far away (6 hours) and they recently opened up a new section.

Clock doesn't know if she could handle Disney World.
She'd probably turn into a five year old and go crazy.

My uncle lives right around the corner.....but I haven't been down yet. He always comes up.

Been to Disney once, the one in Florida I think. Only remember a few bits of the trip though. ;;

lol! Yeah, it had been boring back when I was a kid and my parents took me on those long trips during summer vacation. Takes hours to drive from one place to another. I mostly just curled up in a ball in the back (along with the luggage) and slept or daydreamed the entire way.

Not sure how much it costed (not counting the motel fees and stuff), but I know my mom likes to use the cruise mode on the car since it saves gas and there's barely any cars on the road.
