It's also school time for a bunch of people. I know I'm not on Mene much anymore because I'm taking five classes a week and have a part time job. Mene always has a place in my heart though.

that's whats hard about this event,
there isn't a legit holiday for people to have lots of time to post.

It is vacation for the public schools in Wren's home area... but that's for people under 18. College takes off a week in March.

well I guess Monday was Family Day here,
but I never had vacations from school around this time.

The public school are off for the week because of President's day.

you get the week off for that?

Wow, wish we could get days off like that too.

Wren doesn't because Wren is in college. But all the public schools do. Like the Elementary, Junior High and High schools.

Cora loves overtime

I don't mind overtime, usually...but I'm exhausted. I also have like 120+ hours of overtime saved up already.

Yeah. Hence why I'd really rather not work overtime now, since I have more than enough saved up already and still haven't used.
I've been taking hours or a day off sometimes last semester, yet my overtime amount is still over 100 hours and growing.

Ouch. That sounds like a lot of work Nimmy! Wren hopes you get to sleep sometime.

I hate over-time too just because I'm lazy and don't really like my job THAT much.

Wren shelves books at a library... and enjoys it. Wren would work overtime if they'd let her.

I don't like my job, but I don't hate it either. It pays pretty well compared to many other jobs of this level. And at least they let you save up your overtime hours instead of taking it for granted like most companies out there.

Wren can't work overtime because of her job. Wren can only work a certain amount of hours a week.

That doesn't sound too bad, though if one is short on money that can be a bit disappointing.

What do you do at the library? Like do you sort out the books, beep the books for people, etc?

I hate my job because they over work me and then act like I still don't do enough. Pretty much, I'm unappreciated for everything I do and they continue to just through tons of work on my shoulders when they should know I can't handle it all on my own. Cause god forbid they get someone else to do it while I'm already working on a project given to me.

I sort the books that are returned and then put them back on the shelves. Sometimes I help people find books. I'm not high enough in the ranking to work at the circulation desk (the place where the books are checked out). I'm still technically in an entry level position... but I've been at my work place for six months and have a sense of seniority to the other shelvers. I've gotten more hours because of that seniority, but there is still only a certain amount of hours I can work.

@Sora: Have you tried to pass them off to someone else instead the way they pass them on to you? D:
Or tell them that you really don't have the time to finish everything? I read somewhere that if you don't express your problems they'll just keep on thinking you can handle it and push more and more until someone snaps.

@Wren: It sounds like a nice job. :) Not very intense, at least. I don't really like doing really intense stuff unless it's for fun. >_<;;

I have kind of said something back or dropped hints back to my managers when they ask me to do something but they just smile and say something back to me, pretty much saying I should just try to do it anyway. There is one manager though that he seems to understand it when I have a project already on my "to do list" and he'll say, "Hey, when you get a moment today, can you take care of this for me? If you can't, don't worry about it." So I don't mind it when he asks me to do something because he understands.

I like it well enough. I plan on becoming a librarian as a career... so I have my foot in the door. I'm learning my trade, slowly.

Cora's old job was like Sora's current one. Her new one is a dream though.
