Well, he's the only one I've ever stayed in contact with after I was done with their class. He's the person who got me into writing (other than fiction, I mean, stuff like journalism) and is one of the people who inspired me to be a teacher.
So, he made a big impact in my life, and he's also a great teacher (which counts for something because a lot of teachers that I've had didn't give a damn about their students.)

That's great. Yeah, a lot of teachers are just.. teachers. XD
It would be ok if they were decent at it, but some of them really suck at teaching! Geometry teacher o' mine! :illgetu:

I used to keep a journal and stuff, but... not so much anymore. Well, not as often I guess.

Dinner for everyone!

All of my teachers in high school, excepting my history teacher, were awful. It was one of the many factors that made me decide to drop out. The high school I went to has one of the highest drop-out rates in the state. You'd think they'd connect that fact to bad teaching, at least in part, instead of blaming it all on the students. :stare:
Anyway though, I'm still sort of undecided about what I want to do with my life...like, I would love to teach, but I'm scared that even if I do wonderfully in college, the fact that I did drop out will scar me and no school would want to hire me. :(
I'd also love to be a writer. For a newspaper or a magazine or something. ^^
I'm very into interior design, but lately I have been thinking that I might not be so great at it. Like if I had a client that wanted something that I considered repulsive, I'm not convinced that I could keep my mouth shut and make it happen.

Also, Kita had pizza for dinner, so none for me, thanks.

Ah. That's sad. =\ Teachers really have a much bigger responsibility than just teaching, it's a shame a lot of them don't realize this.

A friend of ours dropped out of school to help his family and it's really coming back to bite him in the ass. Basically his family isn't supportive at all and it just really wears him down. He's been trying to get his GED so he can join the military, but even if he did, the military is picky about those with GEDs. So it's looking like he might not have anything to do with his life and that's really sad. =\
You could always use that point of you dropping out as a good thing. That you know what bad teachers are and you know what you don't want to be and all that.

Ooh nice. I wish I into interior design even just a bit, but I just don't have that... zing for it. Usually jobs that require me to make something for someone based off ideas just makes me nervous.
Unfortunately, I think Illustration is all about there. Lmao. XD

What kind of pizza?

Teachers...sort of shape the future. I mean, the children and teenagers that go through their classrooms are tomorrow's world. Any one of those kids could grow up to be president, or find a cure for cancer, or do some other wonderful thing. But if the teacher's don't care, and the kids don't get a good education, then what does that mean for the future of our country? I think teaching is one of the most important jobs in the world, and it makes me sad that a lot of teachers just don't seem to get that. :/

Having to help my family was a BIG factor in my decision to drop out. I also wasn't in the best health myself. I went for a few years being severely depressed and things that happened at the time I dropped out, made my mental state go to a boiling point and I basically said "fuck it, I'm done." I'm working on my GED now, and I suppose I'm lucky, because they have several programs here which allow you to get special grants and scholarships, depending on your score when you take your test to get your GED. I was reassured by the GED teachers that I will have no problem getting into college. I may have to start at a smaller or community college, but I can transfer to a regular university as long as I do well.

My mom made pepperoni pizza with mushrooms and black olives on it. ^^

They really do.
Teachers are also really underpaid. I, personally, do not want to teach. xD
I don't like kids. .-.

At least your dropping had a good reason. Helping the family and all. Good luck with your GED. That is really good that you have all that help. :O Good thing about college is there's no age limit! (I think... O__o; )
The sad thing about our friend is that he dropped out to help his family, but now... it's like.. he really shouldn't have. His family is shit. His brother has a mental illness and takes a crapload of drugs and his mom has emphysema and part of a lung.. She has to wear a respirator (I think that's what it's called), but she just keeps on smoking..
And he's having trouble getting his GED because no one is supportive and he lives in like.. "bum-fuck" nowhere; so it's like a miracle if he can get a ride out to town. He can't even get a decent job because there's nothing around. It really sucks for him. We tried to help him out, but unfortunately he kept disrespecting us; so we had to send him back home. =\ My husband still talks to him though and tries to support him and offer some alleviation in his life. And basically his main reason for getting his GED, to join the military, might not even work out, since there's a good chance they won't take him.
All because he quit school. @[email protected]

Aww! Booo I don't like mushrooms or olives. -gives to husband- XD

D: You could mention that people like Steve Jobs and that other guy (whose name I can't remember at the moment...) had all dropped out of school, but went on and did great things later on. Thinking that simply the fact that dropping out school = baaaad is just...well, it's kinda lame to me, even if I understand their reasoning.

Didn't get to sleep until like 6..
But surprisingly we're up earlier than the day before.. I have homework. -sigh-
