Fell out of a tree when I was nine
It was pretty high up ._.
I landed on my face and was knocked out for about two minutes,
my mouth was bleeding and some of my teeth were shattered
I thought, as I was falling, that I was going to break my neck or something =_=

Not exactly, though apparently I've had some close calls with health issues that got treated in the nick of time. :B I'd never have known it was that serious if someone hadn't said it.

I've gotten hit by cars. twice.
The first one was going pretty fast. I smashed into the windshield, and then scraped along the concrete and lost chunks of skin and hair on my head. I was pretty young when it happened (and stupid for not looking before i crossed the street) but i remember freezing up as the car came at me. It was weird, cause i probably had like 2-3 seconds to at least try and move out of the way, but i just couldn't. And i remember thinking I was gonna die, like my grandfather (he died a few months prior) but they say i was really lucky cause i curled up in some sort of way that protected me when i hit the windshield headfirst..
The second one didn't go quite as fast, and wasn't my fault, cause I have learned to look both ways twice before i cross a street after the first accident XD

I was born with a heart problem. When I was three weeks old I had heart surgery and I almost died. I don't remember it because I was a baby. However my grandmother loves to tell me how the surgeon reacted when I survived... He ran down the hall screaming, "shes alive!" over and over.

I haven't had a near death experience, but if it wasn't for a wasp i would have been wounded badly.
I was on a bus and there was a wasp buzzing around me, like really badly. He wouldn't leave me or my mom alone and was really buzzing around, so we moved to escape him.
As we moved, a pellet came through the window and shattered the glass all over our seats where we'd been sat a moment before. There was glass in my hair and my moms.
If it wasn't for that wasp, i'd have been badly injured.

closest thing near "death" is when Sora was young.
when his mother was playing with a kite, Sora was stupidly chasing the kite and totally forgot about kite string.
well the kite was lowering to the ground but a wind caught it and the string wrapped around Sora's neck.
Sora's mother got it off before it did a lot of harm, but it went about an inch into Sora's neck........anymore and Sora would probably have neck problems or something of the sort.

Well I've never been on the brink of death before, though I suppose that I've had quite a few close calls.
A few months ago I was on top of the counter cleaning the very top of the cabinets. And when I went to bend down to reach the bucket that was on the counter, I lost my balance for a moment, but quickly caught myself by grabbing the very edges of the cabinet. Though if I had falling, I could of badly injured myself by landing on the metal step stool that was below me. Or cracked my head open on the island in the kitchen '-3-
Also a few months ago again, I was cleaning out the back of a very old truck that had lots of random stuff in the back of it. I was standing on the edges of the truck and wasn't standing on the bed of the truck so I wouldn't fall. But I was going to put my foot down in the corner so I was a little more balanced. It's a good thing that I didn't do so, because there was a black widow right there @ [email protected]
Also I could of been bit by a rattlesnake when I passed it without knowing that it was there. Though I think that it was like, sleeping or something since it didn't move when I walked right past it o.o. Either way, I most certainly would not of wanted to been bit by that thing.
I've also had a few other times when I could of been in a lot of trouble, though I can't recall very many of them XD

Hmmm I got about... Three? Yeah
First one was when I was born. I was a purple baby and that was because I was born without a heart beat, something went wrong I don't know but they brought me back.
Second one I was a little under two and I decided to go for a swim. My three year old brother [at the time duh X] tried pulling me out but could only hold on to me at the edge of the pond while screaming for my mama. My heart wasn't beating then either, [I don't think] but my mom called the ambulance and gave me CPR till they got there so I would keep getting air I guess.
Third time I was eleven years old at the swimming pool and me and my younger cousin were outside the pool area at some picnic tables. We were eating some nacho and cheese with jalepenos and drinking bottles of water. Well aparantly something was really funny and I tried to breathe in while laughing while eating my nachos and it didn't work out. Total air cutoff. I started trying to couch but I couldn't breathe and I looked over at my water bottle but my hand let it go and I sank down to the pavement. All of a sudden i felt myself get picked up and heimlicked and out pops the nacho, complete with cheese and a jalepeno sitting on top of it... The edges of my world stopped being fuzzy and the woman who did it just left before I could even say thank you...

I was fascinated by psychic ability since I was young and constantly practiced to develop it; I have had minor success, but not enough to be really impressive. The practice saved my life though once.
I was working at my school after a hurricane, and had to move a sheet of plywood on my own. I started to carry it, and I got this strange feeling, like a shock going through my leg, so I looked down, and when I did I saw a black widow spider on the plywood I was carrying, and it was pointing towards my leg as though it was about to jump. I managed to toss the plywood aside and move back before it could jump onto me, but if I hadn't had that sudden feeling, I never would have noticed it.

I've had more than my share, I think, I led a pretty reckless life before I had my daughter.
When I was very young I apparently almost died a couple of times, via the hand of my abusive father. I don't remember more than one though.
When I was about nine, I was swimming at the beach and got dragged into the undertow. Not only did I nearly drown, I was thrown against rocks before being tossed up onto them. Apparently I was missing for hours, they called it a miracle that I survived. My mother gave offerings to the Suijin (the deities of not only water but children and mothers) for many years after that. ( I still love to swim in the ocean!)
When I was a teenager, I lead the wrong kind of life: gangs, drugs and liquor. I had one occasion where I was badly injured, and one where I should have died. The first, I was caught alone in another gang's turf when I was about 14. They beat me up pretty bad, but when I finally decked one of them, I got stabbed in the ribs twice. I was lucky again, a woman had seen them corner me and called the police. They ran off when they heard the sirens but they were caught. The second was a one-sided shoot-out. (Never bring knives to a gunfight, kids. On second thought, just don't go.) I was nearly shot in the head, took one to the arm and one to the back. Two of my friends weren't so lucky, and unfortunately, I don't think the police ever got that gang.
The last was much more recent. I got into a bad three-car crash, and was pronounced dead until the coroner tried to bag me. I was rushed to the hospital with burns, a broken shoulder, my left hand pierced through and my right hand crushed, a gash from my left brow to my right cheek, as well as miscellaneous other cuts and scrapes. I was resuscitated twice then in ICU for weeks. I was in rehab for months, and told I would probably never be able to use my hands properly again. Well, I'm typing this all right now so I guess you all know that didn't stay true for long. I still am in contact with the nurses and doctors that saved my life, I'll always be indebted to them.
Moral of the story: Don't be stupid, stay clean and buckle up, OK kids?

I was 2 when a full grown man kicked me in the stomach. He was on swings while I ran across him towards the playground. I blacked out and the paramedics had to resuscitate me. I have a few stomach issues since, but nothing too serious.
And when I was 3, my little brother almost drove us off the George Washington bridge by taking over the steering wheel while my dad was driving. Fortunately my dad regained control.
And then when I was 17, I attempted suicide....I was able to admit this to my therapist and she was surprised that I was still alive. I was in a bad place then but fortunately I got the help that I needed. I didn't realize how much my death would have taken a toll on my family and friends. I'm so thankful that I'm still alive now.

Pinkii reminded me...
I have also tried to commit suicide, more than once actually. I can't really say why it never worked, but I did get help. People say that suicide is one of the most selfish things a person can do. I know that now. I have no shame in admitting this, because to hide it would be to try to pretend it didn't happen. If you cannot embrace yourself in full, you can't embrace life in full, ne?

The only one I can remember is this past summer, I went tumbling down the side of a mountain after a nice adventure into an abandoned mine. Tumbled probably 6meters, and thought that if I didnt stop myself, I would probably make it to the bottom before anyone else, and crack my head on a rock. Luckily, I was able to stop myself by slamming my elbows into the scree we were on, and slamming my back down at the same time...I was in pain for the rest of that week.

When I was about 9 or 10, I fell off of a boat and sliced my leg open pretty badly. Luckily my mom was right there so she pulled me out before I drowned. I still have a huge scar down my leg from that. I had a bad allergic reaction to a medication that I was on and was in the hospital for a week. All I remeber of that is not being able to breathe. That was back when I was 9 too.
Recently, I had an accident a few months ago where I was trying to open a package of knives and I sliced my wrist open. I ran to the bathroom to grab a towel and started to get dizzy so I sat down and wrapped my wrist up. I live by myself so I told myself that I have to get up and go get my sister, who lives in the unit above me. So I dragged myself over there. She started freaking out and I just told her to drive me to the ER NOW. She wanted to call an ambulance when the hospital is less than a 5 minute drive away. I still tease her about wanting to call the ambulance and letting me bleed to death instead of driving me to the ER herself.
Another time, which was just a few weeks ago, I was really sick with a viral infection and had a really high fever. I couldn't eat or drink anything and became more ill because of that. I was in and out of the hospital for a few weeks for that and the fact that the doctor that I saw prescribed me medication that I said I was allergic to and I couldn't breathe because of that. I was in urgent care still when I took that medication, thankfully. I didn't realize that I took the medication because of the fever. I still have no idea how I managed to even drive myself to urgent care in the condition I was in.

Ohmy....a near death experience.....too many, I think. Let's see....which ones are most memorable...
Well, when I was young, I was hospitalized for having a seizure due to my asthma. I almost died then. I still have asthma sometimes and it's so crippling and strong, it's hard to move to where my inhalers are- so it's like a fight for my life everytime I have an attack. x.x When I get hit, I get hit hard.
Another time, I almost drowned because I was in the ocean when I was young and I fell off into the deep end. Like...the part of the reef that dips down into the real deep ocean, I don't know how deep I fell into it- but it was terrifying, not being able to fight against the waves and being surrounded by darkness. But I think my mom saved me from that one.
Yet again, another time, I was swimming and this huge wave crashed down on me and several waves came after, assaulting me so that I couldn't rise again. I almost suffocated from the pressure of the water and my inability to rise up out of the water. Luckily, I was able to push myself through and I made it.
Uhm....I stepped over a rattlesnake while on a hike once. Like, literally the snake's mouth was inches from my heel. It didn't bite miraculously, but I would've been a goner for sure if it had.
Another time, as a child, we had a group of brown recluse that lived in our basement. Of course, I didn't know the spiders were dangerous, so I thought nothing of it when they'd climb onto our washer/dryer. Infact, I'd rest my chin on the washer/dryer and stare at them for hours...my face mere inches from theirs- so I could see my reflection in their black eyes. I took care of them and when we moved- I found out they were gonna exterminate them, so I gathered up the spiders and their nests into a container and let them loose outside. It wasn't till years later that I realized what they were when I was doing independent research on arachnids.
I guess you could count my attempted suicides as near-death experiences...Lol. Foolish of me, I know. I learned better. Especially now, after a co-worker of mine had a daughter who commited suicide. I felt so ashamed to be standing in her presence, seeing how selfish I had been.

About a year ago I was at a horse show and my horse started to have a temper-tantrum in the middle of the ring. He didn't want to stand still and i wouldn't let him go forward or backwards so, smart boy that he is, he thought that going up was the best answer. He reared up, but apparently forgot about gravity, and fell on top of me, just barely avoiding ramming us both into another horse as he did. Luckily he only landed on my leg and I walked away with only a wicked bruise. He walked away with a slightly damaged saddle and some soreness.
I love him to bits but he can be such a brat sometimes.

As long I know I have had two near death experience.the first one near the age of maybe 10 are 11years old maybe? any way I with a friend of mine we had gone to a public pool to go swim at. once I got tried of swimming I tried to ask some of the teen's to take me back. a cross the street to the park were there parents were at. they tolled me no and to wait I did not listen to the teens. walk out try cross the street all most getting hit by a car. there mother fuss at me for trying cross the street by my self.
The second one was at over in Tennessee at Dolly Parton's Splash Country water park. it happen in summer of 2006 I was 20years old are 21years old at the time. I was with my mom is the wave pool sitting down in the inertube. the wave's in Dolly's wave pool are really strong. the wave's push me form 4feet in the water up the concert cement. the wave's flip me over on to my back all most cracking my skull open.

Okay so I was in school in college and I wanted to go to the store so I got my bike and I went to buy me some food! As I was going I slowly start crossing the street trying to fix my bag so I can go to my class which was starting in a couple of minutes and so as I was going I look to the right but I took a loong time just looking to the right and I thought to myself there is totally going to be a car to the left and it felt like slow motion as I turned to the right I was right there was a truck coming and I said s*** because I thought he would notice me but I saw him looking down!! and as he gets close I make a quick turn and the truck is next to me and I thought I missed but that's where I feel the tires of the bike get smashed by the car and I move all crazy and I could feel the car against me but I jump out off the bike and on my feet! at that time I was just shocked that the bike had been smashed... and some lady that watched it was like omg are you okay and hugged me nd I cried.. and I didn't notice how shaken I was until she told me...hehe yea that's mine...
I always think back to the part where I found myself standing...that was probably the strangest thing..I felt like a ninja.... :O

Nekochan's post reinded me of my ex's neighbor's zebra. It wold always jump the fence and we'd always have to round him up and get him back in the pasture. One day my ex and I were working with her horse and the darn zebra go lose again. So we started trying to round him up. We had to get a golf cart because the darn thing was being more of a pain than normal. Instead of being able to round him up like normal, the zebra attacked the cart and did quite a bit of damage to the front of the cart. My ex and I had to get out of the cart and the zebra did not want to back down. Luckily, my ex had a whip with her and used it to keep the zebra away. After that we both looked at each other and said how lucky we were that the zebra decided to back off and not trample us.

Had a bullet go by my head once when I was in the woods my my grandma's place. You feel it before you hear it. Probably someone doing target practice who missed the target and didn't expect anyone to be out there. I skidaddled home quickly.
