"Really," Jason said. "I don't mind driving for a while. You look like you could use the rest." He didn't say 'sleep,' since with all the caffeine, she wouldn't sleep, but she could still rest.
"No problem," Dawn replied.

Nika shrugged, too exhausted to argue with him properly. "Fine. You get a scratch on her, you regret it." She shifted over to the passenger seat, leaning the seat back and putting her coffee in the cup holder.
Seth took a few more moments to just stay outside, stretching his legs while he could before they got moving again.

"I won't," Jason promised as he got into the driver's seat.
"I think they switched drivers," Dawn observed as she watched her brother get into the other car. "Good. Nika's been going non-stop for three days now."

Nika settled into the car, patting the dash. "she's a lady. Be good to her and she'll always bring you back safe again," she said, her voice sleepy. She'd only been thinking that; she hadn't meant to say it alloud.
"Not to mention she died and came back," Seth pointed out. "That's gotta be hard on a person."

Jason chuckled slightly, but didn't comment. Nika was obviously almost asleep already, she probably had no idea what she was saying, or that she'd slipped into Ancient Greek to say it.
"Right," Dawn replied. "My brother's a much more normal driver, so we're not going to be doubling the speed limit or anything."

Nika mumbled something else in ancient Greek before she settled into her seat, curling up to the best of her ability and dozing off.
"Oh, good," Seth said. He'd gotten tired of breaking every speed limit everywhere.

Jason heard her mumbling in Greek, but he ignored it and adjusted the radio slightly. He and his siblings were all the same way like that.
Dawn couldn't help but laugh a bit.
"Somehow, she hasn't gotten caught yet," she pointed out.

Nika fell into a light doze, waking up at any sudden changes in velocity or volume of music. She looked around a few times, obviously with a bad headache but not any less aware for it.
Seth chuckled and shook his head. "Well, my car can't outrun a copper," he muttered.

"You alright?" Jason asked softly when he noticed Nika was awake. She looked a little dazed, and he wasn't sure if it was from sleeping or otherwise.
"My car can't, either," Dawn replied. "It's alright. We're normal, that's all."

"Yeah," Nika said, glancing around once more before settling down again. "I'm fine." She closed her eyes again, though she didn't go back to sleep. She just rested.
Seth snorted. "I think we're a far cry from 'normal'," he said, shaking his head. "If we're normal, the world would have imploded by now."

"Alright," Jason replied. "You can change the radio if you want. As long as it's on, I don't care what it is."
Dawn laughed a bit.
"Yeah, really," she said. "I'm sure none of us would be here if we were normal. We'd all be out living normal lives instead of this."

"Not paying attention to it," Nika replied. "Just don't turn it up right now." She never opened her eyes.
Seth snorted. "Normal sounds boring," he said with a grin. "This is much better."

"I can do that," Jason said. Like he said, he didn't care what was on the radio, as long as it WAS on.
"Seriously," Dawn replied. She grinned. "Until you get in the way of the newbies during their first blade practice. Then it's not so fun."

Nika nodded a little and remained quiet, focusing on everything around them, making sure nothing felt wrong.
"No, but it is fun to listen to them getting reamed," Seth said with a big, slightly evil grin.

"Yeah. I remember once they stole one pair of everyone's pants and made themselves patchwork jackets and skirts or something." Seth rolled his eyes. "The only reason they didn't get my favorite pair of pants is because I was wearing them."

"They got my favorite jeans," Dawn muttered. "I couldn't wear my brocade-patched jeans for rock-climbing, and they got them. I had to threaten them all at arrow-point to get them back in one piece."
