Jason barely hesitated, nodding. He didn't want to leave Nika by herself, but his sister was also a very high priority. It only took him a moment to listen for his sister's lack of stable heart-song, and he took off in that direction, bow in one hand.

Most of the police station was in ruins, but a few of the holding cells were still standing. Lucky for Dawn, the one she was in was one of the ones still standing. Without any of her weapons or anything, she hadn't had any luck getting the cell door open.

"There she is," Jason said as the two came around a corner and saw the holding cells.

"Jason!" Dawn yelled. "Seth!" She never thought she'd be so happy to see either of them, especially Seth. "What's going on out there? All I know is that the Gorgons and the harpy showed up."

"That's pretty much it." Seth looked grim as he started picking the lock, managing to get her out quickly. "The place is half razed, and Nika's out front fending them off."

He stepped aside to let her out, sliding the door back, and blinked when Nika came flying back into the wall next to him. She groaned quietly before she got up, shaking her head to clear it.

"Okay. Definitely a major problem. I am officially pissed off now." Glowering, she marched back towards the Gorgon that had just thrown her like a rag doll, intent on chopping it to bits until it had to discorporate.

Dawn looked at her brother. Jason was twitching in place, as if he was torn between helping his sister and helping Nika.

"Go on," she said to him. "I need to find my bow and things, but we'll be fine. Go help Nika."

Jason hesitated, then nodded and headed in the direction he saw Nika going. Dawn turned back to Seth.

"Thanks for getting me out," she said. "I have no idea where they put my things, they took them when I got put in here."

Nika was attacking one Gorgon fiercely, forcing it back a little ways. At least until the Harpy swooped down on her, sending her tumbling back several feet. She swore as she got to her feet again, spitting out some blood.

"Okay. Let's see, if I were a paranoid police officer with no idea what was going on, I would put your things... there!" Seth looked around for a minute before he shoved some rubble off to the side, revealing her things, unharmed. "Police officers. They're all the same."

"I could kiss you for that," Dawn replied as she grabbed her bow and slung her quiver across her back. "Come on, let's go see if we can help."

Jason already had an arrow ready to go when he found Nika, and didn't hesitate in shooting the Harpy. The arrow didn't do more than distract the creature, but it gave him enough time to get over to Nika.

"You started the party without us," he said.

Seth grinned briefly. He'd have to remind her she'd said that later. But for the moment he just followed her, heading over to the sounds of fighting.

"Hey, I told you I was gonna be the bouncer." Nika grinned briefly and pulled a throwing knife out of seemingly knowhere, managing to lodge it in the Harpy's neck. It screeched in annoyance, clawing at the metal. "Some days I love my job."

"You're an Ares kid, you fight like you breathe," Jason replied easily, turning and shooting one of the Gorgons. Then he turned back to Nika. "Speaking of, you're sounding a bit raspy, need anything patched up?"

Dawn went to catch up to her friend and brother.

"I tried to warn them that this was going to happen," she said as she found them. "I didn't get the vision in time, there was barely a five minute delay."

"Yeah, I'm fine. Nothing to worry about." Nika threw another three daggers at the Harpy, hitting different points on its body. "And let me guess, they didn't even listen to you, huh Dawn?"

"Doesn't look like it," Seth muttered, pulling out his knives. He wasn't as good in combat as the others, since mostly he was just support. And breaking into and out of places.

Jason and Dawn took the same shot, and a pair of arrows caught the harpy in the throat. Neither of them paused to see if it fell; instead they both turned and each shot at one of the Gorgons.

"None of them wanted to believe me all afternoon," Dawn replied as she took her shots. "Not even when I outed the woman in charge as a closet metal-head."

Nika did watch to make sure the Harpy fell before she launched herself at the nearer Gorgon, taking the fight to it again and slashing at it. Between her and Dawn, they took it by surprise and she managed to chop it into a few pieces. Ha! She'd love to see it recover from that.

Especially after she lobbed its head off.

Seth shook his head. "Humans in general are very close-minded until the truth bites them in the ass. Or razes their police station."

"No kidding," Dawn replied. Whirling around, she shot an explosive arrow at the remaining Gorgon. She blew a few snakes off of its head, making sure not to look it in the face. This was when she was glad her accuracy was what it was.

Nika yelped when the snakes almost fell on her, and then she kicked the Gorgon in the back, sending it sprawling so she could behead that one, too.

"And now I want a shower. A really, really hot shower. Gods I hate monster blood."

"I know exactly how you feel," Dawn replied, putting her bow away. She viciously kicked one of the severed snakes away from them. "Come on, let's all go back to my place, we can clean up there."

"Is it safe for all of us?" Jason asked.

"For a little while," Dawn replied. "And really, we can fend off anything that tries to get us."

"Between the four of us? Yeah, anything short of a god we can handle." Nika paused. "And that was not a challenge, universe!"

Seth snickered at that and shook his head, heading back over to the car. "Good call."

Dawn snorted. Yeah, they would be kind of screwed if any of Nika's family showed up. Holding out a hand, she reached for her keys. She might have let Nika borrow the horrifically gold Pontiac, but now it was Dawn's turn to drive again.

Jason snorted as well.

"Yeah, that could have been bad," he commented as he walked towards the gold Sunfire.

Nika held out the keys, rather gladly, and settled into the front passenger seat. She yawned briefly; she'd taken more of a beating than she'd admit to. So she settled down to rest for a bit.

Seth nodded and got in the back seat behind Dawn. That way he could grin at her in the rear view mirror before settling in himself. Hopefully it wouldn't be a long trip.

Taking the keys, Dawn got into the driver's seat and unlocked the rest of the car.

"I'm driving, so the radio magically becomes mine," she warned the other three. She glanced at her brother in a distinctly 'that means you' kind of way. Jason just held up his hands in a gesture of surrender. Dawn fought back a blush when she caught Seth grinning at her in the mirror and started the car, heading for home before the news crews and such could arrive.

Nika ended up almost napping in her seat, bonelessly slumped against the seat as she recuperated. She was going to be sore and cranky when she got up again, though.

Seth was quiet for the drive, just listening to the radio. He didn't mind, and it's not like he was really the big music person, anyway.

But he was glad when they got there.

Dawn parked in her usual parking space in the apartment building lot, and got out. Jason jumped out quickly, too, and went to nudge Nika.

"Hey," he said, "we're here. Stupid question, but you think you can make it upstairs?" He touched her shoulder gently as he spoke, using a bit of his healing power to ease the worst of the bumps and bruises that she'd gotten. He could heal her properly once they got inside.

"Yeah, yeah." Nika yawned briefly and got out of the car, grimacing a little. "Ow. Yeah, I can make it. Son of a bitch throws hard, though." She shut her door before making her way up the stairs. Albeit more slowly than normal.

Seth grinned at Dawn. "Well, that's another disaster averted."

"For now," Dawn replied as she locked up the car and followed the others inside. "It won't be for long, I'm sure. The damn things aren't staying dead, I have no idea why."

Jason kept a hand on Nika's shoulder, humming a hymn softly under his breath and working on healing the worst of her injuries. With how often Nika got herself thrown around and hurt, he was glad he was a good healer.

Seth sighed. "Yet another thing to figure out. I don't know how we can help that, though. That's a little bigger than we deal with."

Nika relaxed slowly as the aches and pains left. "Thanks," she said quietly to Jason with a little smile.

"I don't think it gets much bigger than this," Dawn replied. "But we're not exactly strangers to mortal danger anymore, are we?" Quickly, she unlocked her apartment door and ushered everyone inside.

"No problem," Jason replied softly. "Anything else that needs attention? And don't say nothing, because I want to make sure you're completely healed this time, not just marginally better."

Seth moved inside and glanced at her before he took a seat on the couch. "No, we're not, which is sort of sad in a way. Come sit and relax. You deserve it."

Nika was quiet for a few moments as she moved inside, assessing her injuries. "I might have popped my shoulder out of place?" She actually sounded a little sheepish now.

Dawn sighed and sat down on the couch, setting her bow and quiver on the coffee table.

Jason nodded.

"I can fix that," he replied. He probed her shoulder gently with his fingers. "Yeah, it feels a little out of place. Hold still--" Quickly, he pushed some healing power into her shoulder to deaden the pain, and then popped her shoulder back into place. "--there. Feel better?"
