Dawn froze for a moment, and then returned the kiss. She was surprised to find she enjoyed it; she'd never been kissed before, and was half afraid she didn't know how.

Seth kept it short this time, and smiled a little at her. "I'll be back soon."

"Be careful," Dawn replied. "I'll try to keep a metaphysical eye on things down here."

Seth nodded. "I'll be back as soon as possible." And hopefully it wouldn't take too long, because he knew that he couldn't stay hidden in Olympus forever.

Dawn nodded. She almost wanted to tell him not to go, but she knew he was the only one they could trust to be able to get in and out of Olympus without getting caught.
"I'll see you when you get back, then," she said.

Seth nodded and kissed her again briefly before he went over to his car. He had some driving to do now.

Dawn returned the kiss and watched him go before getting into her own car. She would check on her mother and then go back to her own apartment and wait for word from him.

Seth drove to DC in one stretch, heading for the Washington Monument after finding a decent parking place for his car. This was going to be a long hike... resigning himself to sore legs, he headed up the very long flight of stairs to get to the top of the monument and find the hidden door to Olympus so he could go sneak around.

About half-way home, a vision caught Dawn with enough force that she was forced to pull over or risk crashing her brilliantly gold car. What she saw made her immediately turn around and race toward DC. She had to get to Seth before her father could.

Seth had already gotten in and gotten the information he needed, which troubled him greatly. But he couldn't do anything about it until he got to the others. So he was making his way back out before he noticed something wrong.

Apollo was waiting for him near the exit, bow already pulled with an arrow pointed at him.
"I thought I warned you to stay away from my daughter," he said.

Seth gulped and didn't quite step back. "I think that would be her choice," he said cautiously. "She wouldn't leave me alone, and I didn't really want to leave her alone, anyway."

"If you think for one moment I will allow one like you to get close to my daughter--" Apollo started, but he was cut off when another arrow was suddenly pointed at him.
"And I say he can," Dawn interrupted, putting herself between Seth and Apollo.

Seth eyed them both warily. He really didn't think this was such a good idea, honestly, but he wasn't the one with a bow.
Ares appeared, lounging up above them all and laughing. "Looks like your kid's about as tame as mine," he said with a (only slightly maniacal and homocidal) grin.

Dawn flinched very slightly (because who wouldn't, when the god of war suddenly appeared over your head?) but didn't turn her attention away from her father. She didn't trust him not to shoot Seth while she wasn't paying attention.
"And just as reckless," Apollo snapped at his half-brother. He gave a bit more attention to Ares than Dawn did. He knew better.

"I do believe our daughters have been spending too much time together, Apollo." Ares smirked. "Oh, and I feel I should warn you I might have to kill one of your sons. As a father you should certainly understand."

"If your daughter doesn't manage it first," Apollo retorted. Yes, he knew about that particular son. It seemed that two particular children of his were being bad influences on each other, encouraging such relationships.

Ares snorted at that. "She has proven to be... immoveable about such things. Much as your daughter. And my what a daughter she is."

Apollo just twitched a bit. He knew better than to rise to any bait from Ares, but sometimes it was so hard to refrain from shooting the bastard.

"Too bad I don't like Demigods more. Although it might be rather interesting to have a three-quarter kid running around. The only way it would be better is if she was a full goddess." Ares smirked, leaning back. "Mmm. Now that would be fun."

"Let me know when you're finished being a dick, Ares," Apollo said mildly. In fact, he said it too mildly, and it was clear he wanted nothing more than to force the other god to shut his face. But it was a Bad Idea to pick a fight with the god of war.

"And you won't," Apollo snapped in reply, finally swinging his bow to point from the demigod to the real one. "Don't make me shoot you, brother." Because he could, would, should, and wouldn't feel the least bit of remorse for it when he did.
