Jason sat up as well, but didn't get out of bed, just watching her.

"In no way is it natural for a shark to try to take on one of Ares' kids," he replied, grinning.

Nika rolled her eyes at him and grabbed some clothes, heading into the bathroom.

Once she was in the bathroom, Jason got up himself and gathered some of his clothes. It wouldn't take him long to throw on shorts and a tee, but he wanted a shower, first, so he would wait until Nika was done.

Mika emerged a little bit later, dressed and her hair still dripping from her shower.

"Your turn." Nika grinned and moved over to the bed to braid her hair.

Jason nodded and headed into the bathroom himself. He came back out a little later clean and dressed, although his hair wasn't dripping. Just wet.

Nika managed to make herself presentable, her hair braided but still wet. She'd pulled a little day bag out of seemingly nowhere.

"Anything you want to put in?" She held up the messenger bag easily.

Jason blinked.

"Where did you even get that?" he asked.

"From my duffel bag. I had it tucked in a corner." Nika shrugged. "The few times I'm out among humans I have to keep in mind I can't just pull things from thin air."

"Yeah, humans don't take well to that kind of thing," Jason replied. After a moment of rummaging, he pulled a pouch of assorted coins out of his bag, and his real wallet. "I think these are all I'll need," he said.

Nika nodded and held out her hand for them, stashing them in her bag. She already had her own wallet in there, along with a few daggers that she'd disguised to look like a binocular case and an insulated water bottle.

Nika already had his weapons in her little sub-space side-dimension, so Jason wasn't worried about that. Grinning, he gave her a kiss.

"Let's go, then," he said.

Nika nodded and got up again, making her way out of the room and starting towards where she could see some boats. And some tourists. That was probably a good place to start.

Jason walked with her, reaching out to take her hand gently.

Nika let him, relaxing slightly when he did. It didn't take her long to find the place selling tickets for glass-bottom boat rides, and she glanced over at Jason with a raised eyebrow.

Jason shrugged.

"We can go snorkeling later," he said. "This is good for right now."

Nika nodded and got them two tickets, handing his over before making her way over to the boat. There were already a few humans on board, and she wrinkled her nose a little.

Jason squeezed her hand a bit.

"Just relax," he said softly. "Let the Mist do its job and just let yourself have some fun."

Nika nodded again and got onto the boat, settling down. At least it would be a pretty boat trip out and back.

Jason sat down too, absently looking over the side until the tour started. Then he would head down below to look through the glass bottom of the boat.

Nika waited until the boat was a little ways out to go down and look at things. The water was clear enough that she could see all sorts of fish and things down there, and she grinned.

"You have to admit," Jason said softly, coming up next to her. "As much as the gods tend to screw with things, they did get some things right."

"Yeah. They did." Nika smiled a little. "Not everything, but some things. Enough to justify life, anyway."

"Yeah," Jason replied. Putting an arm around her waist, he pulled her close and gave her a kiss.

Nika smiled a little and stayed there, content for the moment. And they didn't even see a shark while they were out on the boat. Although a few brightly-colored fish tried to swim into the glass.

Jason was content to stay there and hold her for a bit.

"I think this vacation was a very good idea," he said.
