Lol. I almost never upgraded my armor, or weapons, for the main character until pretty much the ending. And it was not easy to do some of the battles. If I got lucky, and found a nice weapon, I would definatly throw it onto my character, just because I got tired of my mages getting thrown around like spit balls.

The story in it though, is very well done. And leaves it WIDE open for a third game...and alot of add-ons. Cant wait to see what they do in the next one.

Also, with my first playthrough of almost any game, I just go to see what the story is all about, then I go around and do all the sidedquests in the next playthrough.

Agreed about the final battle, it really wasn't that hard at all, just long.
The side quest where you fight the high dragon much was harder.
Still a great story though and a lot of loose ends are left, so a third game is sure to come.

I gave up on fighting the High Dragon on my first play through...all because I couldnt keep my people alive long enough to deal half its health.

I took him down on my first try, but it could have gone either way towards the end of the fight.
I had my warrior, Aveline, Anders and Varric. When he spawned all of the small dragons I took them all out with my warrior no problem and had the others attacking the larger dragons until I was done with the small ones. I also went through my whole stock of potions on that fight, including a couple of the resurrection ones to bring back Aveline so she could keep tanking.
Who were you using?

I was using Anders, Aveline and Fenris. Plus my Mabari was out and about. Though, this time, Im going to do what I can to unlock Anders Resurection spell, and have as many of the resurection postions as I can find/make.

Really? I didn't have a problem, I was a rogue. I used Varric, Anders and Aveline. Aveline made it chase her, as I exploited critical hits and teleporting behind it, if it tried to kill me. Anders kept healing us, and reviving with his spell.

Varric used that raining arrow moves, after using a TON of Health Potions, I dealt with it.

Funny that the "end boss" I fought was ten times easier than the High Dragon though XD.

I only ended up using 2 resurrection potions and didn't even have Anders' rez spell lol
The end fight really did seem too easy. It was just drawn out. I'm pretty sure no one in my party fell below 80% health

I just got sick of those statues -_- Not to mention, she supposedly had an OMGAWESOMEWEAPON, which barely hurt me ._. I guess the armour of the champion is too much for her lol.

The statues weren't too much of a problem for me. I was playing a warrior, so I just steamroll through them.
I had Aveline tanking her while I was going around killing statues and she took pretty much no damage.
And yea, I was expecting more from that weapon lol

I was a rogue first time, my choice for the final battle was also pretty dumb.

Anders, Isabela, and Varric.

As you can tell, it didn't bode well. Thankfully I did it first try, thanks to exploiting critical hits.

I'm on my second playthrough right now, trying out a warrior. I should have picked it on my first go XD would have made stuff MUCH easier.

Haha yea a whole team of squishy members.

Warrior is super easy to play. When you can choose a specialization, go reaver first.
Devour + the increased attack speed after to down and enemy is amazing

Yeah, Isabela died so fast and I was just like "-_-"

I picked Reaver first, I remember it being mad good in Origins. It still is too, blood frenzy + sacrifical frenzy = a whole room gone real fast.

I have no idea, what second specialisation I should use...Templar sounds boring and only good for dealing with magic, so probably Berserker who knows.

I went templar on mine. Mainly because it gives me another AoE spell that will take down demons and mages faster.
Plus the AoE dispell is pretty useful too.

I had Anders, Isabella and Avelline for the final battle...none went down at all, even with the boss not targeting Avelline have the time. Mind you, I was a warrior, and kept smacking her statues leaving EVERYTHING else to the other three, until I saw she was after Avelline, then I charged in. I didnt even have the Champions armour(as you probably figured out since I didnt kill the High Dragon xD). She didnt deal more than like 15 damage a hit, maximum. To any of my party.

I never got the champion's armor either, but that was because of a glitch.
I did indeed kill the high dragon, but the is a glitch that if it dies while doing a certain attack or action, you won't be able to loot it. I didn't feel like loading from before the fight and redoing it, so I just kept going without it.
Was kind of bummed out, but whatever.
Hoping it won't glitch on this run through with my mage once I get there.

This run through, I ended up killing the high dragon, without anyone dying. And my party consisted of Avelline, Anders and Merril. Me being a rogue, with 3/4 of the Champions armours on was a nice help too.

I hate that there is a glitched quest that almost noone can do(at least not on 360 that Ive heard of). Its the "Who Needs Rescuing?" quest. None of my friends, or anyone on the forums Ive checked has been able to do it.

I gave up on that stupid "Who needs rescuing" quest. I looked EVERYWHERE, and found nothing.

I just went after that demon, you can hunt in Act 3.

I also found the Exiled Prince is incredibly glitched, I haven't got any achievements for completing it o_0 good job bioware *claps*

The Champions Armour was okay...I found the benefits kinda poor though. Especially against the Blood Dragon Armours 1+ to all attributes.

@Arkkath: That's a good point, mages have always been a pest. I never tried Templar too, might as well give it a chance XD.

Just dropping in to say my mage is getting to be pretty beast.
Run into a swarm of enemies, cone of cold + fireball.
That will kill most enemies and if not, bring them pretty close.
I went spirit healer for my first specialization since an aoe heal and rez spell is always useful to have, plus having my party immune to injury is pretty sweet.

Is it bad that Orsino only hit me(and any member of my party) once, with an AoE ground smashing move?

Also, Im glad that this time around, I only lost one member of my party, but thats because I sided with the mages(again) and ended up losing him because he wanted revenge agaist Anders. xD

I hate Orsino, I never liked him alive or when he turned into that ugly...whatever that was D:

I honestly never tend to get along with Sebastian Vael...I always act sarcastic and he HATES it. I also find him annoying, he never shuts up about the Maker D: I spare Anders JUST to spite him.

I believe Orsino gets turned into a gluttony demon.

But yea, his fight was really easy too. What's with the end game fights being so easy?

I dont know, but whatever it is...they better change it for the third game. And Im hoping my character from Origins/Awakening makes a cameo...and I would still prefer to play as the Champion. Way better looking armor, though the Legion of the Dead(I think thats it) from that Dwarf squad that is on the fringes of Darkspawn territory has was the BEST looking and best overall that I could find in Origins/Awakening.

I think for my third(and probably final) play through, Im going to do the most ironic class-to-choice thing I can. A mage that sides with Templars. xD

I'm almost done my second playthrough of the game and I've been paying closer attention so some of the details in the dialog.
All evidence points to Dragon Age 3 being in Orlais. I wonder how they'll work in DA2 or maybe ever DA:O saves into it.

Mage siding with templars haha. Wonder how that will go
