A Fae x Human RP . . .
Hello, my official name is Rue Pennelpe Nacht but, you can call me Penn. As a matter of fact Please call me Penn. I mean I'm named after a flowery shrub thing for goddess sake. I am 18 years old.
I would give you a description of what I look like, but it would be much easier to show you . . .
I have lived in a small town all my life and I can't wait to get away. Even though I was raised by a wealthy family I really am a good person. Most of the upper class these days are pretty rude, It's sad. I have always wanted to travel. After so many years in a cage, no matter how gilded it might be, you get tired. Well, I'm tired and can't wait to get out on my own. I think if you get to know me you'll like me. I really love to be around people but I think my favorite place is out in nature. Either there or in a library. Let me see, is there anything else you should know about me? Oh yeah, I hate spiders, I'm absolutely horrified of heights, I can't ride a horse to save my life, and I like to sing.

Hello, my official name is Thyra Wynter Melangell.
But you can call me Thyra (even if it is a little pretencious).
I am 18 years old.
I would give you a description of what I look like, but it would be much easier to show you . . .
I have lived my life here in this small border kingdom. I am the only heir to the throne of this nation and I have always been under a great deal of pressure to succeed and bring power and respect back to our family so that we may once again rise to take our rightful place at the Fae king's right hand side. I am not the daughter my parents wished for. I really am an alright person I think but some may disagree.
I have always wanted leave this kingdom and to be allowed to explore the world on my own two feet. Being the heir to my family I barely have any privacy or time to myself. I think if you get to know me I may surprise you. I really like to be alone. Most people annoy me or try to use me to gain favour with my father or mother. My favourite place is in the sky. Let me see, is there anything else you should know about me? Oh yeah I love to fly! I may not have wings like our cousin race the Fairie but that doesn't mean I still do not enjoy it. I could spend hours up in the sky with my trusted companion Lelouch, a winged wolf who was given to me as a pup when I was five years old. I love to fight and prove that I am as skilled as any male warrior (and probably more so).

It was a warm day outside as Rue walked through the village. She glanced at the escort beside her and frowned. Stupid rules and propriety. "A proper lady can't go anywhere alone in this day and age, dear." Bah, her step-mother knew nothing about her. Aliana had no clue that Rue had been getting self defense lessons from the gaurds at the gate. Hahaha, she would have a fit if she knew. Rue smiled at the thought and glanced at the man beside her once more, "You know Stephan, we're far enough away from the house that you can leave me now. You've trained me well, I know how to protect myself, go visit your woman. I'll meet you in the village center at 6.oopm." Stephan smiled at the mention of his lady and bowed, "As you wish, Miss Rue. Be smart, I'll see you at six." Rue nodded her acsent and turned away from Stephan, towards the medow.
The medow was small and filled with flowers of all different shapes, colors, sizes, and smells. It was a wonderful place but, it paled in comparison to Rue's hot-spring. Rue had stumbled upon it years ago when she had first tried to run away from home. Of course Stephan had found her and forced her to go home but, not before they set up an agreement. Every day Stephan and Rue went for a walk. Stephan went to go court his lady-friend, and Rue went to her hot-spring. It was a little ways into the forest; hidden by a thick copse of willow trees on three sides. There was a rock face on one side that had a small but steady waterfall leading into the spring. The ground was covered in lush green grass and Rue had purchased a few small touch-ups at the market.
As she entered what she liked to think of as her "home" Rue smiled. Then she began to set her things up. Out of her pack she pulled a soft down blanket and spread it across one of the big flat rocks, next to the hot-spring. Once the blanket was spread Rue pulled out a small crate that doubled as a table. Setting it next to her favorite tree, a large weeping-willow, She covered the crate with a pillow case as a make-shift table cloth. Then Rue pulled out three pillows. Two went on either side of the crate to make chairs for the table. The last pillow went on the blanket to make it more comfortable to lay on. Once she was finished Rue pulled out a big book of poetry, laid down on the blanket and began to read.

Thyra smirked to herself as she left the audience chamber of her parents. This was just the latest in a series of lectures instructing her to act more like a proper lady of the court. It was unlikely that such a thing would ever happen of course. Thyra know that she was far too strong willed to ever abide by the rules of court life. There was too much intrigue and political game-play for her. Her father constantly told her that she was good at it, (how else did she manage to get herself out of difficult situations without getting into serious trouble?) but that didn't mean she enjoyed playing those games.
This latest repremand was for, of all things, beating the head guard at a sparring match which he had suggested in the first place! It wasn't her fault that he was sloppy and underestimated her. He landed on his back with her blade to his throat and he had the nerve to complain to her parents that she was not behaving properly. The next time she saw Tobias Foyet she would put the insect in his place. For now she had more important things to do though. Her parents and the reputation of the heard guard could wait. She walked out to the garden in the centre of their palace and quickly gave a short, sharp whistle that pierced the air. Immediately she heard the sound or rustling branches and her trusted companion, Lelouch, walked regally towards her from where he'd been resting under a nearby bush. He was a lot larger than he had been when he was a cub and his onyx fur and violet eyes were extremely striking, especially combined with the pitch black feathery wings.
"You ready to get out of here for a while Lelouch?" Thyra asked the winged wolf. Lelouch made a growling noise in the back of his throat which Thyra knew meant "of course," and she smiled to herself. She carefully shifted her small weaon's pouch so that it wouldn't dig into her leg or Lelouch's side. She quickly climbed on so that she was sitting comfortably on his back with her legs just in front of the place where wing and shoulder met. Lelouch gave a warning bark like sound before spreading his wings and leaping into the air, racing towards the clouds before anyone, be it guard, servant or even parent, could do anything to stop them. Thyra whooped in delight as they rose higher and higher before Lelouch swirved in mid air and she was forced to throw herself forwards to keep from being thrown off.
"Watch it!" she ordered the wolf playfully. He gave a short, sharp bark in response before winding his way through the sky to a favourite place of Thyra's. She couldn't wait to get there. It had been far too long since she could escape the palace. She missed the freedom taht the skies gave her and she loved the rush of defying her parents, more specifically her father.

Rue sat up with a jerk. The sun was still high in the sky, she had only been "home" for a little while. There was a strange rush of air through the trees and Rue began to search for a good place to hide. One can never be too cautious, you never know what might pop out of the woods. There was a strange yelping noise and Rue dove for cover . . . straight into the hot-spring. The water was warm and Rue shook out her lavender hair as she resurfaced. Rue watched the skies and caught a glimpse of something black and feathered. Whatever it was it looked ready to land, in Rue's "home." Rue swam back behind the curtain of water falling from the rock face and waited to see what would happen. She watched as the creature landed in her clearing. It looked like some kind of bird-dog thing. Whatever it was vanished from her mind as Rue set eyes on the lovely creature riding the. . . whatever that thing was. She was tall with a waterfall of clear blue hair, and pointed ears. A fae. A gorgeous, bird-dog riding, fae. Rue watched, enchanted, as the beautiful female dismounted and stood in the center of the hot-spring clearing.

Lelouch landed gracefully as ever and as Thyra dismounted she ran a hand through his fur, scratching him behind the ear like a big dog. He leaned into the touch and, he she hadn't known that he was a wolf and not a big cat, she would have sworn that he was purring.
"You," she told Lelouch. "Are far too much like a cat." The wolf pulled his head from her reach and seemed to give her a "you can't be serious?" look. She laughed before patting his head again. "You know it's true so stop complaining. You've been spoilt." Lelouch seemed to huff before trotting away and stretching out on a bolder. His wings settled on his back, slightly spread, as he watched for any sign of movement.
Thyra stretched out the cramps in her legs from her ride with Lelouch before looking around the clearing. It was a beautiful place and thespring and waterfall seemed only to enhance it's beauty. It was then that she took note of the blanket, pillows and improvised table. A sleek, ice bue eyebrow rose in curiosity and she looked around.
"Hello?" she called in a clear voice. "Is someone there?"

Rue watched in silence as the Fae girl interacted with her pet, playing and joking. The Fae girl called it 'Lelouch'. Hmmm well whatever Lelouch was, it came to rest on a rock not five feet to Rue's right. Rue tried to suppress a squeak as the creature looked at her through the waterfall. Rue ducked under the water and swam as quietly as she could to the other end of the spring. Rue surfaced as the Fae girl called out, "Hello? Is someone there?" Rue climbed out of the hot spring and began to shed her soaking clothes. "Yes, someone is here. You, who are you and what are you doing here?," Rue questioned. Then remembering that this girl before her was Fae, and could do some serious damage, Rue altered her words. "Errrm, that was a little rude, sorry. You scared me," Rue stopped speaking for a minute to remove her petticoat and stood there in her simple white shift. "My name is Rue Pennelope Nacht, but please call me Penn. Would you like a snack, I have cheese and wine?"

Thyra's eyes were immediately drawn to teh distrubed water as someone surfaced. She stared at the lavander haired girl who climbed from the hotspring. She was clearly human, a fact that surprised Thyra. She had not realised she had strayed into human teritory. Internally she smirked as the girl demanded to know who she was. It was refreshing not to be recognised on sight. This one definitely had spunk. She stared as the girl introduced herself and offered a snack. An eyebrow raised of it's own accord and Thyra nodded her head.
"Thank you," she said. She unslung the small bow from her back and the quiver of small bolts from her waist and set them down on a rock out of the way before carefully unstrapping the small case of knives on her other side. "My name is Thyra Wynter Melangell. It is nice to meet you Penn." She smiled slightly at the human and unconciously brushed a strand of long blue hair behind a delicately pointed ear.

Rue held fast to her strength as she waited for the Fae to reply. Thankfully she responded kindly. The Fae introduced herself as Thyra and with fluid, gracefull motions began to remove her weapons. Then with a small smile Thrya took up one elegant hand and brushed a small strand of hair behind a beautifully sculpted ear. Rue smiled and walked over to her makeshift table, "Please come sit, I'm sure your tired. Your friend even more so." Removing the flask of wine and a small wheel of cheese Rue nodded in Lelouch's direction and offered, "If he's up for it I could spare a little for your friend as well." Rue pulled a knife from her pack and cut the cheese in three pieces," unfortunately I have no cups so we'll have to share the wine if you don't mind." Rue pulled a bright yellow ribbon from the hem of her shift and used it to tie her hair back, "So Thyra tell me about yourself, if you don't mind of course, where do you come from?"

Thyra joined her new human companion at the table and carefully sat on the other cushion. Lelouch looked at them from his position lyi9ng on a rock, a bored expression clearly visible in his violet eyes. "Oh don't be such a killjoy," Thyra instructed the wolf. "Thanks," she told Rue before carefully picking up a piece of cheese and tossing it in Lelouch's dlrection. The wolf sat up but didn't bother to move very far. THe piece of cheese landed by his tail so, being the lazy wolf that he was, Lelouch flicked it towards his mouth with a paw and swollowed in one gulp before yawning and closing his eyes, appearing to go to sleep. "Fine then," Thyra huffed. "Be antisocial."
She turned back to Rue and rolled ehr eyes esasperatedly. "Sorry about Lelouch. Usually he has more manners than this. It's probably because you're a stranger and he doesn't know you." She didn't add that if Lelouch didn't like her then Rue would be staring down the muzzle of a very angry winged wolf.
Thyra tilted her head at Rue's question, thinking it over before replying. "Well I come from the kingdom just over the border," she said, gesturing in the vague direction which they'd come from. "Normally when Lelouch and I go out riding we usually stay within our own borders but today we both needed to blow off a little steam so we flew a little further than usual."

Rue calmed down a little when Lelouch settled down for a nap but she still felt his predatory awareness and hoped he didn't suddenly decide she was a threat and try to hurt her. Turning to her simple meal Rue nibbled at her piece of cheese while Thyra spoke, "Normally when Lelouch and I go out riding we usually stay within our own borders but today we both needed to blow off a little steam so we flew a little further than usual." Rue nodded in understanding, "That's why I come here too, to blow off steam, be alone. It's nice. No rules or inhibitions." Rue took a long pull from the flask of wine offered the rest to Thyra and decided it was time for another swim, "Feel like floating around in the spring for a bit? I could use some relaxation."

Thyra nodded her head in understanding. "That's partly the reason Lelouch and I were flying in the first place," she replied. "I needed to get away from my family's home otherwise I might have snapped."
Thyra tilted her head at Rue for a moment, debating before nodding her head. A soak in the hotspring sounded like a good idea to her. She couldn't remember the last time she'd had the chance to enter a spring, especially one with such clear water. She was an ice fae of course so normally she didn't like much hot water but she made a special exception for hot springs.
"I wouldn't say no," she finally answered smirking slightly. "But, as you were here first, it is more or less your hot spring." She finished her piece of cheese before standing and looking at Rue. "After you," she said, her lips pulled back in a smirk as she stared at Rue.

Rue wasn't sure what that last comment was supposed to mean but her face broke out into a smile at Thyra's smirk. Rue stood and walked over to the rock face, "You're right, it is my hot-spring." Rue pulled off her shift so that it wouldn't tangle in her feet and began to climb up the rocks. Once Rue reached the top she shouted down at Thyra, "You should try this sometime, it fun!" And with that Rue stepped back, ran forward, and dove into the hotspring. Rue surfaced and shook out her hair. Floating for a minute Rue opened her eyes and looked expectanyly at Thyra. "Your turn," she quipped with a smirk. Rue closed her eyes again and enjoyed the warmth of the spring while she waited for what Thyra would do next.

So the human thought that she could outdo Thyra did she? The smirk stretched into a full blown grin on Thyra's face as she gracefully walked towards the rock and peeled off the layers of her outfit before bending down and removing her knee high ice blue boots.
"Here I come," she said before taking a running leap towards the rock. She boosted herself into the air and, as she rose higher she did a summersault in mid air, her hair appearing to coil around the outside like a wheel before she dove head first into the hot spring. She swam under the water for a moment before resurfacing beside Rue and smirking. She was barely out of breath.
"Well?" she asked teasingly, the smirk firmly on her face. "What did you think?"

Rue watched Thyra's gracefull dive wide eyed and in awe. Rue smiled as Thyra swam over with a smirk, "well you definitely won this round. hmmm, if only i had some sort of prize to give . . . do you like poetry?" Rue closed her eyes and allowed herself to let go, floating peacefully in the spring. It was a beautiful day and aside from a somewhat rocky start Thyra was good company. Straightening out Rue looked at Thyra, "we should do this again sometime, it was a good day. i had a good time." With a wink Rue swipped a hand through the water and splashed Thyra, "what do you think, same time tomorrow?"

Thyra blinked in surprise. Poetry? "I don't know," she admitted. "I've never taken a great interest in poetry. Music is more my thing but I supose they could be considdered one and the same..." she broke off and studied the spring carefully before being caught off guard by Rue's words and the splash of water in her face.
Thyra whirled back to Rue and couldn't resist grinning predetorially at the human. "So you wanna play do you?" she practically purred before diving underwater and swimming silently behind Rue. Without warning she resurfaced, splashed Rue and dived again out of the human's reach before swimming away and resurfacing about six feet away.
"Yes," she said, catching her breath. "We should definitely do this again...if you can catch me!" With that she dove underwater again.

Even though the water was warm Rue felt chills go down her spine as Thyra smiled and purred in a very predatorial way. Rue pushed her arms through the water and tried to warm up. Suddenly Thyra surfaced somewhere behind Rue and doused her with a great heaping splash of water. Rue screamed and giggled turning to see the very tips of Thyra's toes dissapear into the clear blue water. Rue watched Thyra swim, her form shimmering in the light and her hair whispering around her in the water. Rue tried her best to look vicious as she tried to splash Thyra when she resurfaced. She missed. Rue smiled as Thyra challenged her and dove under the water. Rue sat at the bottom of the spring for a while then swam over to Thyra, grabbed her foot, and tried to pull her under.

Rue dissappeared under the water and didn't resurface for a while. Before Thyra could dive under to see where the human ahd gone she felt a tugging on her foot. Momentarily caught off guard she gave an undignified yelp and was pulled under the water by the foot taht had been grabbed. She twisted her body to see Rue holding the foot and glared mock-angrily at the human before twisting her body once again and breaking free of the other female's hold. She grabbed Rue's arm and hauled the human back up to the surface. They'd been under for a while and if they were under for to omuch longer then they wouldn't be able to breathe.
As Thyra broke the water she pulled Rue with her and grinned at the human.
"I'd say I won this round," she smirked. "Unless you've got something else planned."

Rue realized that if they had stayed under any longer they wouldn't have been able to breathe and took in a fresh lungfull of air before thanking Thyra. "Thanks for surfacing," Rue remarked with a smile. "Hmmm, I think you won too. Any ideas on what to do next?" Rue climbed up out of the hot spring and took the ribbon out of her hair. After shaking her hair so that it hung in loose curls around her face Rue offered Thyra a hand out.

Thyra accepted the offered hand and hauled herself out of the hot spring. She shook herself, getting rid of the lose water droplets that clung to her hair and skin before gracefully sitting on a near by rock warmed by the son. Lelouch lifted his dark head and gave the two girls a bailful look before returning to what he was doing before, sleeping.
"I say we just relax," Thyra commented. "I'd rather stay here for a little longer until the tempers at home cool off a bit."
She was not looking forward to returning. It would most likely degrade into another shouting match and she'd rather put that off for as long as possible.
She lay back on the rock and moved her heads under her head as a make-shift pillow and stared up at the sun. There were a few clouds in the sky but nothing that blocked out the glowing rays. She sighed and closed her eyes, relaxing in the heat. It was just perfect. She preferred it when the sun wasn't burning down on the earth. It was too hot then and her ice fae body just wasn't meant to cope with too high temperatures for too long.

Rue smiled and lay down on a rock next to Thyra. Looking up at the clouds Rue wondered what life would be like in the forest. Just living there at the spring all year round. Rolling her head to the side Rue questioned, "what's it like in your kindom? you don't have to tell me everything, I'm just curious." Smiling Rue streatched an arm above her head and let her fingers play in the water as she talked. "It's so dreadful, where i come from;" Rue began. "The upper class are so rude and critical. I often think I would rather be a servant than the daughter of the man who owns the shipping yard. Father's so strict. 'Don't slouch!' 'What do you mean your sick, My daughter doesn't get sea-sick!' Thyra chuckled as the human talked about her father. She could sympathise somewhat after all.
"Well..." she trailed off, ordering her thoughts before speaking again. "As we are Ice Fae we chose a kingdom that was not too warm. If we are in hot temperatures for too long then our bodies overheat. Hot springs are alright, you do not stay in one of them for longer than a few hours but long term exposure to heat can be very damaging to us. We usually live in snowy or ice places..." her eyes glazed over as she talked and a small, barely noticable smile, passed over her lips. "It's a ;sight to see when the ice palace of my father gleams in the new dawn rayes of the sun, or at the end of a dying sunset. There are humans in our realm of course but they are usually servants or, in some cases, mistresses." She paused to take a breath before tilting her head towards the human.
"It isn't normal for a female to fight, at least not one from the upper class as I am. I do not care though. I will learn to fight. There is no rule against it and so I practice. That is the reason I came here. I beat the head guard at our estate and my parent's...weren't best pleased to put it mildly." This time a full out smirk passed over her face. She would definitely be doing that again. If it meant getting that kind of reaction from them. Sure she'd been angry to start with, who wouldn't be? But now...now it was just another way for her to show her defiance to her parents.

Rue smiled and watched Thyra talk. She could tell Thyra loved her home, even if things were difficult. Rue closed her eyes as she tried to imagine the sight Thyra decscribed. Forming in her mind a picture of a gleaming irridescent castle in the fading sunlight, "It sounds gorgeous. And please feel free to come here anytime your parents are less than pleased and any other time as well." Rue blushed fruiously at her invitation and turned back to look at the sky and clouds once more. Slightly embarrassed Rue began to hum a tune. Softly at first and slowly growing louder, until her clear Contralto filled the glen, Rue sang Scarborough Fair. "That's my favorite song you know," she said when she was finished. "I think it's beautiful." Rue turned to face Thyra again. She lay on her side with her head propped upon her elbow, "Have you a favotire song?"

"I'll definitely be taking you up on your offer," Thyra commented and was just about to say something else when her keen ears picked up on the sound of Rue gently singing. She paused, closed her eyes and allowed the sound to wash over her. It was beautiful and enchanting. She recognised the song but she was unable to place it until Rue mentioned the name. How could she forget? She had loved that song as a child.
"That's a difficult question," she commented, reopening her eyes and facing Rue. She had turned her body to the side so that she was now facing the human. "It is a very hard choice but...I've always had a soft spot for Caladonia and another called Somewhere. They are beautiful and I have always felt a sort of...connection to them both. It is difficult to explain. I may not be able to sing but I have played the piano for as long as I can remember. It is an enchanting instrument I think. That is the one thing that my parents approve of ironically."

Rue looked shyly at Thyra through her lashes, "I would love to hear it . . . if you don't mind." Laying her head down on the rock Rue continued to watch Thyra. She stared at Thyra's long winter hair, laying curled about her head. It looked lovely on her, a soft snowy pillow of blue. Thyra's eyes were equally intriguing and as she looked at them Rue could almost picture that beautiful sunlit palace in the color of Thyra's eyes. "You have the most amazing eyes," Rue couldn't help but say it outloud. "It almost feels like I'm drowning in a pool of light. But it's a good feeling, like butterflies." Once again embarrassed Rue blushed profusely and stuttered, " I-i'm sorry, I-i didn't m-mean to be awkward . . ."
