What do you do for your community where you live? Do you donate clothes, money, blood or your time? How do you help out?

When I wasnt working so much, I used to donate my time delivering the community newsletter. Though, Ive noticed recently, they dont print them anymore...or even send them out via e-mail.

I make and donate scarves to the local community service center. I have a lot of yarn lying around, so donating what I make helps me clear out my stash and help someone stay warm at the same time. Win-win situation. :)
There have also been some recent openings for volunteers at their food bank, so I'm looking into that as well. Unfortunately, I won't know anything until closer to the end of March, when they have their monthly volunteer meeting.

I occasionally donate old clothes, toys, and books to various charities.
I've wanted to donate blood but I'm deathly afraid of needles.
I was thinking about becoming a bone marrow donor but I'm really iffy with the whole surgical process. Maybe when I get the courage, I'll become one.

I donate all of my old clothes each year to Goodwill. xD I just take everything in my closet out, get someone to drop it off at Goodwill, and go shopping for next year's clothes.

As of right now, nothing. I can't afford to give much, if anything. However, I have been interested in looking for animal shelters/rescues (or something related) that I could possibly work with. We've been going through a lot lately, though, so I haven't really had the chance.

I donate old clothes to the Salvation Army and such, because I am not going to wear them anymore, and I have tons of clothes. I also volunteer my time at a local soup kitchen. I also find that I am donating a fair bit to my university class, to help pay for our graduation...but I don't think that it should be seen as donating in the strictest sense because I am helping myself and others.
