The world is a difficult place at times, and we can all get caught up in the hurtful words of others, the lingering pains in our hearts, and the experiences that sometimes threaten to crush us.

Think of this thread as the reverse-FML of Menewsha, and post here what made your day, what made you feel better, what happened that made you smile if you're in a time of pain, and what amazed you. This is a place for "The Little Things" that you notice that others wouldn't blink an eye at.

What you post here doesn't have to be momentous. The things that make you smile or trigger memories often aren't. On that note, however, there is no limit on how much you can write. Sometimes little things are big, too. :)

Feel free to post every day, or multiple times a day as long as you aren't double posting. Feel encouraged to do so to remind yourself that the world isn't so bad. Also feel free to discuss "TLT"s.

◎ ◎ ◎ ◎ ◎ ◎ ◎ ◎ ◎ ◎ ◎

Rules:

-Follow Mene's T.O.S.
-Don't double post.
-PG-13, duh!
-Don't tell anybody that what they said was stupid.
-Post more than one word. For example, don't just say, "candy," give a bit of a reason why that made your day or why you noticed it.

◎ ◎ ◎ ◎ ◎ ◎ ◎ ◎ ◎ ◎ ◎

Now, the things that gave me the idea for this thread:

Today I took a walk and smelled freshly cleaned laundry on the breeze. It reminded me of my grandmother when I was a little girl and I couldn't help but smile for a second.

My father also gave a dollar to a homeless man. He gives one to him every time he sees him. Everyone is afraid to help this man, even though he is the only person in our city that deserves anyone's money, because he is severely disfigured. My dad gives me courage.

I got one step closer to getting a job. The fact I had to pee in a cup today just amused me for some reason. Silly drug testing

I was putting something in the trunk of my car and the trunk door decides to laid on my head. I'm like why today I just want to go to bed. And start a new day because today was not my day :'(

@BlackEggIceBird- I really hope tomorrow is better for you, I wish youths beet of luck with everything. Just good luck!!

So happiness in my day. Hmmm... I haven't felt very well today, and I had school, but I think the highlight of my day has actually been this site. I have been talking to a charming boy who is very sweet and cheered me right up.
Oh, also there is a civil rights club at my school and I helped them out yesterday and today everyone in the club has said hi to me when they see me or smiled or what not.

Little things like a smile are so wonderful. Hugs, they are my happiness.
One of the best parts of my day is the begging in when I stand in a certain hall way at school and everyone that walks by gets excited to see me and hugs me, it makes me feel like I am almost wanted.

So yeahs, I hope everyone can keep their chin up :)

BlackEggIceBird: I hope you get a good night's rest and have a better day/things to tell us about tomorrow. *nod nod*

Hmm...Another thing that made me happy today. Watching my cat's tail twitch when she was asleep in a ray of sunlight.

Spent time with the husband today; I feel we don't have such moments often enough. Took a walk outside in the freezing cold, came in with a numb face, then commenced exercise routine. I love getting things done like that.

Glitter your avi is really cute and I love the art in your siggy!!

So the big huge happiness making event of my day was completeing the art in my signature!!! I have been working on it for a while, it was tons of work, and only the second time I have coloured on a computer. I am so so so happy about it.

Even if nothing else went well today, that did.
For all of you who have had good things happen to them or just generally good days, I am so happy for you!!!

Well, I actually got around to cleaning room today, which made me feel great. Oh, and I think may have finally found a healthy relationship to be in with someone and I'm really enjoying it.

This sounds like FML is reverse. Cool!

Today I had a very calm day, as it is Saturday so I don't have much to do. It did put a smile of my face to see my two dogs sleeping peacefully close to each other. They're like sisters, all they do is bicker with each other, but when they're asleep and the youngest is all stretched out and their noses almost touch... Aw, I can't tell you how happy it makes me. ^^

NeuzaKC: I was actually thinking that when I made this thread. FML makes me crack up, but it is a little depressing sometimes. Also, the life-issues forum has been busy lately with a lot of sadness, so I thought we needed something like this. *nod nod*

AerieFlew: Thanks for that sentiment, we all need it sometimes.

Let's see...what made my day better today? When I was shopping for some new pajamas, the store clerk asked my name and treated me as a friend instead of just another customer. That made me smile in a time when I haven't had anyone to lean on in several months.

My dog always makes me smile. She does the oddest things like crawl on her tummy in the snow or dig in the snow. She's 10lb little Maltese/Yorkie/whatever mix and I've never had a little dog that loves snow as much as she does.

Right now I'm feeling pretty depressed, but earlier today I was watching a movie (one of those shows where they have people commenting and such between showing bits of the movie, and apparently also add little effects every so often) and in the middle of a serious discussion, there was a loud burp noise just out of nowhere...

My mom took me to McDonald's after I got a copy of Pokemon Black. That was the best-tasting sausage bagel and shamrock shake I've ever had. :)

Let's see...my friend called me today to tell me to avoid a street because it was blocked with traffic. I'd already had to do some illegal turns to get out of said traffic, but him calling me made me feel like somebody cared a little bit about me.

Today a guy that came through the drive thru at where I work said I had a really pretty voice and asked me if I did professional voice work. It made me happy for the rest of the day. I sing vocals so that meant a lot to me since I have been trying to improve my voice lately. Even though I still think it sounds crappy. It still made me happy that someone liked it. XD

I stepped outside this morning, intent on going to the store. It was freezing, but that's not what bothered me. It was the sun. I slipped back inside, and put on a visor. I smiled at the thought of my putting on my coldest hat for a cold winter day.

Soon after, I was 20 feet from the store. I heard a crack. Looking down, I saw I was on shallow ice. With a smile, I slowly crept accross, leaving a trail of spider patterns from ever step. I couldn't help but giggling at my sillness.

On the way back, I repeated the process. I couldn't help but wonder what people were thinking as they watched me skitter over the ice. In a butst of energy, I barked at my dog, a block away, tethered in my back yard. My little adventure left me feeling light, and happy with the world....

Well, the only little thing that really made me smile today was the banter going on between two of the servers, the very weird, yet disturbing, question the FOH manager asked everyone, and the way the sous-chef always goes a little coo-coo when he starts either losing his mind, getting tired, or just plain out bored. Pretty much all those things made me laugh. And pretty much everyone else was laughing, we were that bored at work. As for the question...its NOT PG-13. So I will definatly NOT be posting it anywhere.

Then on the way home, even though there were a bunch of 10-14 year old kids on the bus, all pretty much yelling at each other(though it was a convo they DIDNT need to scream at each other for), I had to turn the volume on my Zune from 8(normal setting) to 20(max volume!) just to start being able to hear them. All of a sudden, the song changes, and Dusk and Her Embrace by Cradle of Filth comes on. That made me smirk. After the next 2 songs(Juliet by Sonata Arctica and Master of Puppet by Metallica, yes this is crucial to the story) the song One Foul Step From The Abyss by Cradle of Filth comes on. Now, because of how much I wished the kids would either A) Shut up, and respect others on the bus, or B) Quiet down a little, this song just fit in perfectly because I was close to losing my temper(didnt help they were throwing snow at each other, and hit me a few times, with me looking like I was going to kill someone >.>) I was glad my stop was the next one, and as I stood the kids all kinda looked, stopped talking for a second, and moved out of the aisle(which they were blocking so NOONE could get through). Now Im not a small person, Im 6'4", I wear hiking boots ALL the time, I had my music in, spiked hair, and the look of "Move or be moved kid!" on my face. Any that tried looking me in the eye turned away before they could fully do so. THAT made my day, made me laugh like a maniac just as I was stepping out the door, and past the windows the kids had open. Definatly a good end to a boring work day. xD

Hmm, what made me happy today was going shopping with my sister. Laughing and joking around in the car to michael jackson music. It was extremely funny and fun. As, well as singing along to the music as well. I also liked all the new goodies I got, was good as :). Also another thing was realising that we were spurgling on clothes and said to ourselves lets leave before we spend more lol.

The little thing that maded me smile today, was being reminded of the convo about Green Beer yesterday at work. One customer asked for Green Beer, and us being a higher class restaurant said no. The sous chef and FOH manager went on to discuss ways we COULD make it green, since we dont have food colouring in house. We went throught the list of green vegetables/herbs we have: Bok Choy, Beans, Parsley, Dill, Rosemary, Cuccumber, Zuchini, just to name a few. That made everyone laugh all over again, and the Exec Chef(who wasnt there yesterday) laugh hard enough he almost startedd crying. xD

Draciolus: That's priceless. XD Did you end up achieving the green beer eventually?

Oh, and also, today was an amazing day for me! Which was great...because yesterday sucked royally. But one of my favorite things was getting a text from a friend that said "I miss you." I don't get that a lot. It was a huge refresher.

Nah, we denied him the green beer. At least from our restaurant that is. If he wanted green beer, he should have gone to the many pubs around the area. It was still funny that we were talking about doing that.

Also, tonight my brother and sister-in-law were over visiting, with their dog. He ended up barking at one point, and my Uncle, who is spending a couple of weeks between here and my grandma's house, was just taking a sip of his coffee, and splashed all over the cupcakes we had out, and all over his shirt and the table. xD
