Its 1 am..
I should be in bed.
I should be curled up under my warm blankets snuggling my cat.
Sadly I'm doing none of that.
Instead, I'm sitting online, dead tired, but I can't seem to force myself to go to bed.
Beginning symptoms of insomnia I do believe.

So all you night owls, insomniacs, and tweakers..
What is keeping you awake?
Will power, inability to sleep, drugs, caffeine?

By the way,
why is it late at night, on every channel, informercials?
This must be a bore-you-to-sleep tactic.
:feesh:

It's mid-day here right now, but what seems to keep me up a lot is my 'second wind.' That time of night after you're so tired you're almost falling asleep, then suddenly it's almost like you just woke up... but your muscles feel more ache-y. Other times it's caffeine but not for long. I can go to sleep within a half hour of drinking or eating something with a lot of caffeine. It's usually just inability to sleep for me. My will is weak when it comes to sleep... so yeah. If I can't sleep... I just can't. I've found that I can fall asleep easier when my boyfriend reads to me, even when the story is scary. It's very calming. Or knitting before bed. It has a similar reaction for me, but not quite as strong.

Heh. Early morning time slots on channels are the cheapest and the least desired for tv shows so they're easy to nab up... I think.
That, and I think it's a tactic to sell products to insomniacs. When you're tired you're more likely to make impulse decisions and decisions you wouldn't otherwise make.

Aww I see.

For me its more for this type of situation: "Okay its 9pm.. I'll head to bed in a bit *gets on mene, talks to people, plays some games, ectect* Okay. Its time to head to bed.. OMG ITS 2am?! What happened?!"

I just get so caught up in what I'm doing that I don't even realize where all the time goes.
It happens.. a lot. Nearly every night.
Except I can't allow it to happen tonight, I have to wake up extremely early to do testing. Joy.

Heh, that happens to me all day, especially when I'm on the internet.
Like right now. It's past noon. o-o I didn't realize the time had moved so fast. Dx
It happens when I'm doing school work sometimes as well, which isn't always good since many times it's not because I'm getting a lot of work done...

Since this seems more like a hangout thread for night owls, I'm going to move this on over to Menewsha Nation, where the hangout threads belong. :D

I definitely qualify as a night-owl. I schedule all my homework in the evening so if I procrastinate (which I do, excessively) then it all needs to be done at night.

lol I actually do that too.
But to many times I've 'scheduled' my homework late and forgotten so I had to stop doing that. D:

I'm a senior in college right now. A friend of mine told me that when you are in college there are 3 things in life that you need, a social life, sleep, or homework. Figuring that you get all of three of them you think that you have it grand. However, in college you get to pick two. So have fun with that. I have forgone sleep because of I want a social life and I obviously am here to learn and do homework.

As for being a nightowl it's the only time that I have the ability to socialize with people, and thankfully theirs as well. It is also the only time that I have time for homework between classes, meetings for extra curricular things, and working.

Yeah thats certainly something I'm not looking forward too. D:
However, college does seem like a great experience in general.

I'm a freshman. It's a huge change from high school to university, but fortunately I'm only an hour away from home so I can still see my friends and boyfriend on weekends. I think I'm losing out a bit on the partying aspect, but that is fine with me. Frat parties scare me. I went to one and it was not fun.

I worked on my report last night and this morning during my free period, and printed it out 2 minutes before that class started. I'm counting that as a procrastination win. :D

I'm suppose to be a junior in high school this year but unfortunatelly I procrastinated a bit too much and didn't earn my credits.
So I'm stuck as a sophomore again. But its all good because I'm going to an online academy now and even though the work is harder I get to feed my procrastinating habits.
I suppose thats not exactly a good thing. D:

And yes, that does sound like a procrastination epic win.

I could never do an online course. I don't think I would ever actually work on it.

Well that's good then :)

I think for what Orion said, I picked social life and half homework, half sleep. If I'm allowed to do that. xD I occasionally slack off and do a half-assed job on my homework but I probably don't get my proper amount of sleep either.

I've tried online courses before and have MAJORLY failed. XD
I'll get online with every intention of doing the work, and then easily get distracted by all the other sites I frequent or friends who are online, etc.

Yeah exactly!! that happens to me for writing papers and stuff. I'll be totally motivated to do my paper or lab report or whatever, then spend hours updating my facebook status and talking on skype. I'm so unproductive D:
