So finally a month ago the game has finally came out after years of waiting since Dragon Quest IV's release. So far I have to say the fifth was the best out of the three and then four and then six. I really think the whole dream world idea was interesting but just didn't quite get it for me. The whole vocational idea was neat since you didn't have to gain levels in every class like DQ IX, but the monster characters were kind of limited.

The Hero is an interesting character as he is a prince-- and he doesn't know it until later. Carver, a carpenter, Milly a mysterious girl... and the others are pretty cool, but not as the previous games are. It's definitely a game I would play through once, but not a second time like the other two. I haven't beaten the game yet but so far I haven't felt compelled to play much lately but I will finish it eventually. I give the game a 7 out of 10. A lot of grinding is required as usual and is not for the feint of heart and for good hardcore rpgers only.

As usual I like all DQ games and don't want people to think I don't like it while it does have the DQ charm and the whole aspect and remake of it. There are parts in the story which definitely touch the heart and parrtss that baffle the mind.

It is a fun classic and is worth playing through at least once. I can't wait for DQ X!!
