I have and it is a terrible thing to do. My shoulder strap backpack broke while I was walking with my laptop. It broke the screen and I had to get a new laptop after that.

That has not happened to me, either. But if it did, I would take care of the poor (or curious?) thing and find it some other home (or send it back into the wild if that is where it came from). Most of the strays around here like to hide from humans.

Also, it could be a good thing that an animal with rabies has never followed me home. I know someone to whom that has happened.
