Itachi was glad that the other male took the money that was offered to him. Pocketing his wallet he nodded his head to his brother and watched as Sasuke got into the car with Saskura and Ino. He narrowed his eyes a little bit at the pink haired girl. He never did like her, and her way of fawning over his younger brother. Maybe he was just a little possessive of the other male. He waved to the car as he walked back towards the house. Once he was in the house he began tidying up the house as he tried to do menial tasks that would take his mind off of meeting their new guardian. At least he was going to meet the social worker and their "new guardian" without his brother.

Sakura made one last stop to pick up Hinata before driving them to the mall. He followed them around, looking for something that suited him. And, of course, he did end up carrying some of their bags. He did find plenty of stuff he was looking for, all black. Both Sakura and Ino insisted on buying him something, so he choose something for them to buy. When he returned home, hours later, it was about 6 p.m. He said goodbye to the girls and went inside and straight up to his room, dropping his bags of clothes in front of his closet. He'd sort through them tomorrow.

Rolling as he heard the phone ring he walked towards it and picked it up. "Uchiha residence. Itachi speaking how pay I help you?" He listened only acknowledging the other person occasionally. Hanging up the phone he went upstairs to get dressed in something a little more presentable. The social worker and the "new guardian" was going to be coming over. Itachi was most certainly glad now that Sasuke had left for the afternoon. When the door bell rang he opened it and in walked Tsunade, the social worker, and the guy from before. He glanced at Orochimaru and the other smiled at him. The other's smile made him cringe a little bit as he had the sudden urge to leave the room. He had an excuse anyway since he was going to make some light snacks and drinks for the guests. He might have hated the two other people, but he didn't want to be a poor host. They talked briefly about how he and his brother were doing. He didn't reply much, but then they started talking about how Orochimaru would be moving in. He gritted his teeth and nodded to what he was hearing. Like he had any choice in the manner.

The two other people left leaving Itachi in the house again. Once they were gone he sunk down on the couch again as he thought about how he was going to bring it up that Orochimaru would be moving into their house in the coming week. He heard the door open and close. He then heard the padding of sock covered feet and the closing of Sasuke's door. He got up off of the couch and walked up the stairs. He was about to knock on the door, but then decided not to. Standing outside he said,"Sasuke I need to talk to you. Come to my room if you want to. I won't force you."

Sasuke wasn't to surprised when he heard Itachi speaking to him through the door. What surprised him was that his brother didn't knock. He normally did or just came in. Not that he was going to complain about it. And sure, he didn't really want to go talk to him. But, what Itachi had to say was probably important. So, he would deal with it.

He went and knocked on his brother's door. He'd see what he wanted before going to go find something to eat. He was starting to get a bit hungry even though he ate a bit at the mall. That wasn't enough to last long though.

Itachi went to his room and climbed onto his bed. Rolling onto his back he stared at the ceiling wondering if his brother would actually come to his room so that the two of them could talk. He let his eyes slide closed as he tried to think of a way to explain what would be happening in the next few days to his brother. He opened his eyes when he heard the knock on the door. Rolling over he got into a sitting position as he said,"Come in Sasuke."

Sasuke hesitated for a brief moment before opening the door and entering the room. He stoppe just inside the doorway though. "What is it you want to talk about, Itachi?" he asked. He didn't want to spend more time in here than he had to. It made him a bit uncomfortable.

He heard his brother's muffled voice through the door as it opened slowly revealing Sasuke who was standing there. Before he could tell his brother to come closer he was cut off by Sasuke asking what he wanted to talk about. He inwardly smirked to himself as he said,"Why are you acting like a stranger? The least you could do is come into my room. This is going to be a rather lengthy conversation so you might as well get comfortable. Also we will be discussing some rather heavy weighted stuff as well. You best sit down." To emphasize his point he patted the side of the bed where Itachi wasn't. He wondered briefly if his brother would take the bait to sit on his chair.

Sasuke thought about it. He really didn't want to be in here for to long. But, if it was going to be a long conversation, then he didn't want to be standing the entire time. So, he slowly walked over and took a seat, though he was a bit stiff and his back was straight. "Now tell me what it is you want to talk about." he said, not wanting to waste any time.

Itachi's eyes widened a little bit as he walked his brother come sauntering into his room. He sometimes saw some of his own arrogance in his younger brother, and wondered briefly if he walked like that as well. He saw the other slide onto the bed next to him, but the other was sitting ramrod straight. Shaking his head he said,"Relax a little. It's not like I am going to hurt you or do anything odd to you. Relax a little bit. If you don't you're going to give yourself a premature heart attack or something, and no one needs that." He knew that he was toying with his brother a little bit, but right now he wanted to lighten the mood a little bit, as well as, relieve some of the tension that was coming off of the other male in waves.

Sasuke forced his muscles to relax. Sure, it wasn't by much, but it was something at least. He was finding it hard to relax unless he was alone. Being around people made it harder. "Just say what you need to say, Itachi." he told his brother. He didn't understand why Itachi wouldn't just say what he needed so that he could leave. The only thing he wanted right now was to go downstairs and get something to eat.

Once Itachi was satisfied that the other male had calmed down a little bit he looked at the other male dead in the eye and said," I spoke with the social worker today. Tsunade-san. Orochimaru was with her as well. He will be moving in in the coming week or so, and we are to help him move in as well." He remembered when he had met the two of them. There was something about Orochimaru that just didn't quite sit with him. There was just something off about the other, something even attune to being down right sinister. However, he knew that it would only be a few more years before he could leave the house, and of course take Sasuke with him. "I know you don't like this whole guardian thing, hell I don't either, but we can get through this together. We, after all, have only each other. It's just you and me." Itachi didn't like thinking that way, but with his parent's being gone, and no other Uchiha's living around them or even in the same country for that matter it was true that they were two people against the world. Itachi looked at his brother again as he let out another sigh. He knew that it would be a lot for the other to take in. "Comments or concerns?" He had learned that habit from his father. His whole family, when they were together, had a habit of saying something, and then letting other members of the family chime in with their opinions and ideas.

Sasuke was silent as Itachi was speaking. That man was actually moving in here?! No! That couldn't happen! That man creeped him out so much. But, it wasn't like he could really say something about it, now could he? He was just a kid. Nobody was going to listen to his opinion, after all. So, what could he do besides avoid him when he could? That's what he would do, he decided. He shook his head at his brother's question. "No, nothing." he said, which has been his automatic response for a while now. He stood up. "I'm leaving now." he stated, walking out of the room.

Itachi looked at his brother directly in the eyes as he contemplated the reactions of his brother. How would the other act? He finished his speech as he looked at his brother with a slight concerned look on his face. When he heard his brother mutter out the words of complete and total apathy he furrowed his brow a little bit as if he was deep in thought. "Very well," he muttered as he turned his gaze towards the ground. He heard his brother then say that he was going to be leaving. Glancing up he saw that his brother had left the room. Getting up from the bed he reached out and grabbed his brother's wrist. "Sasuke," he started. "Let me make you something to eat. It's the least that I can do."

Sasuke froze when he felt Itachi grab his wrist. He stopped and turned to look back at his brother. "You want to cook for me? Since when have you ever done anything for me?" he asked, a bit surprised. The older boy never did anything like that for him before, so naturally he was a bit shocked. "I don't need you to do to that." he stated. He could handle making a sandwich on his own, after all.

Itachi felt his brother stiffen a little bit. He figured that he would have done the same had he been in the other's shoes. He was acting a bit out of the ordinary, but who wouldn't after what the two of them had gone through in the days before. He smirked a little bit as he heard his younger brother try to rationalize why he was being so nice to him.
"I am doing it because I want to," said Itachi. "Besides, I highly doubt this Orochimaru character is going to do us any favors when he arrives." Getting to his feet he let go of his brother's wrist as he placed it on the other's shoulder. Now that he was standing up he walked out of the room to stand in the hallway. "Sasuke," said Itachi a bit softer. "Please just let me do this."

Sasuke was silent as Itachi was speaking. Sure, he was probably right about Orochimaru, but that didn't mean he needed help. He thought about it for a few minutes. "Fine... Go ahead.." he stated. He would deal with it. Though just for this once. He turned and went down to the kitchen, his stomach growling slightly. He was done arguing about this. He just wanted to get something to eat so that he could lock himself in his room.

Itachi knew that the other wanted to be left alone, and he knew that it was probably a very selfish request that he had made. Watching his brother move out of the room he stretched a little bit as he debated on what he would make for the two of them. Leaving out of his room he followed after his younger brother wondering if he should ask Sasuke what the other wanted to eat. He remembered that he used to know what the other liked to eat, but he had stopped cooking all together when his father had told him that that was "woman's work" and that he should be doing other things that normal boys his age did. "If he only knew," thought Itachi with a satisfied grin. Making his way into the kitchen he decided that he would at least get out two glasses and dinner plates. "Sasuke, muttered Itachi. "What would you like me to make?" He was at a loss trying to figure out what he could make since he didn't know what the others favorite foods were, however, he was too proud to admit it.

Sasuke turned to Itachi when he heard his brother speak. "I was just going to make a sandwich." he told him. It was something quick and easy. Plus, he could take it up to his room with him. But now that clearly wasn't going to be an option. He would be able to handle eating with his brother, just as long as the other didn't talk to much to him. He just wanted to eat and be done in silence. He just needed some peace right now, after everything that has happened recently.

Itachi crinkled his nose when he heard his brother say that he was going to make a simple sandwich. Well that wasn't going to happen on his watch. He was going to make some comfort food. As he made his way towards the refrigerator he eyed the contents of it. He decided that they had some left over chicken, broccoli, and carrots. Plus, they always had pasta or some form of noodles in the pantry. He decided that he was going to make chicken alfredo. Heading to another cupboard he got out a pot so he could boil some water and another pan where he could combine the chicken, broccoli, and the carrots together in the alfredo sauce. "Dinner will be done in about 20 minutes. Go lay on the couch or watch some T.V. or something." He wanted his brother to be comfortable being with him, even though it was one of his own selfish whims to spend time together after this tragedy. He knew that Sasuke was just playing nice with him, so he wanted to make dinner as quick as possible so the other could eat and leave.

Sasuke nodded and left the room. Normally, he would offer to help. At least, he would have if it was their mother that was cooking. But since it was Itachi, he stayed silent. He knew that he should try to get along with his brother, but he just couldn't. It was to uncomfortable to be around him. And it wasn't something he was used to since he's been excluded from things with him his entire life. That wasn't going to change overnight. So, he just went and sat on the couch and turned on some horror movie that was playing. He curled up on the couch and started watching.

Itachi watched his brother go and flop down onto the couch where the T.V. was soon turned on. Nodding his head he began working on boiling his water, cutting the vegetables, and making the salad that would go along with the main meal. Once the noodles were boiled in another sauce pan he mixed the chicken, which he cut up, and the vegetables as well. Soon the smell of cooked chicken and vegetables was permeating the air. He then warmed up the sauce that he would put on top of the pasta dish. Once dinner was ready he served them on the plates that were set out. He then brought the plates to the kitchen table where he set it out with some napkins, drinks, and silverware. "Sasuke," called Itachi. "Dinner is ready."

Sasuke wasn't really paying much attention to what he was watching. He was more focused on trying to figure out why Itachi was being so nice to him all of a sudden. It wasn't like he's ever cared before after all. It really didn't make sense to him. When he heard his brother call for him, he was about to fall asleep. But, he jerked awake and stumbled to the kitchen rubbing his eyes. He took his seat as he stifled a yawn.

Itachi glanced up at Sasuke as he eyed the other. He could see the fatigue that was playing across the other's features, and he felt a bit bad that he had pestered his brother so much into spending more time with him. He truly was a selfish person. Glancing over at Sasuke he quietly said,"Thank you for spending time with me. I know my actions have been rather 'selfish' as of late." He had never been nice to the other since from as far back as he could remember, so he might as well start now since it would be only be the two of them from now on. Taking a bite of chicken he glanced at his brother making sure that the other one didn't fall asleep into his food. He wouldn't put it past the other to be that tired.

Sasuke looked at Itachi when he heard his brother speak. "You haven't been being selfish.. I'm just not used to you even really talking to me." he told him. Most days he was lucky if his brother even said 'hi' to him. So naturally, this wasn't something he was used to. He started eating a moment after speaking, wanting to finish so he could go to bed. He stifled another yawn as he ate.

Itachi listened to what the other had said. He was glad that his brother was talking to him. He tilted his head to the side when he heard the other say that they never talked. He didn't understand what the other was saying. The it dawned on him usually the two of them ignored each other's existence, but since their parent's death the only thing the two of them had was each other. Taking another bite of food he glanced over at Sasuke as he said,"Where do you think we should put Mr. Orochimaru," said Itachi. As an after thought he added. " He will not get our parents room. I'll tell you that much."
