"That's an insane amount of space," Naomi said. "And it makes me think the processing power is now off the charts." And she now officially had a new best friend when it came to PC repairs.

Duo grinned. "Off your charts, maybe, but barely even a blip on mine." He moved back over to Deathscythe, moving a panel and starting to fiddle with something.

"I'm from a place where giant robots are usually only in bad sci-fi movies, a CPU moving at two and a half hertz is amazing, and only about half the population is human," Naomi retorted, watching him to gauge his reaction.

Duo jerked at that last bit. "What do you mean, only half are human?" he demanded, turning to her, his eyes wide. Clearly he'd never encountered non-humans. At least, not that he knew.

"I mean pretty much that," Naomi replied. Clearly, she'd gotten his attention. "Only about half the population is human, not counting all the mix-breeds running around." As she spoke, she absently started to play with the blue in her hair, twisting it around one of her fingers.

"Mix-breeds? Mixed with what?" Duo looked at her, looking just the littlest bit freaked out.

Demons. Osanna slid the note in front of Duo.

"Demons?! Demons don't exist!"

Naomi sighed and held up one of her hands. Her youki swirled around her fingers for a moment before ice coated them, perfectly clear and sparkling. She let it dissolve after a moment.

"Yeah, they do," she said.

Duo blinked at that and mentally reevaluated the two on his threat level list. "Okay, so you're telling me demons exist in your world, and you're... what? You're demons?" He eyed them again. "You sure look human to me."

"I'm half," Naomi admitted. "And the vast majority of higher-level demons look mostly human, anyways."

Duo blinked. "Okay. So you're half human and half demon." Really. The world couldn't get much weirder than this.

Although apparently they were from another world so he didn't have to really worry about all that.

Naomi nodded.

"Right," she replied. "My mother is human, my father is not. Simple enough concept."

"Right. Normal for you." Duo eyed her for a few moments. "You know, you never said why you're here. Besides the whole being dropped here thing."

"There is no 'why,'" Naomi replied. "I have a misbehaving magic book, it dropped us in an unfamiliar world out of spite." She paused when she saw the look on his face. "And none of that made any sense to you. Damn it, another logic-brain." She shook her head. "I should introduce you to Ed, he'd like you once he got over the technology-shock."

Duo just blinked. None of that made any sense to him.

Osanna sighed. Let's just leave it at we're not here voluntarily. Our transportation for dimension-hopping decided to drop us here because it doesn't like us.

"That makes more sense." Duo looked at her for a few moments. "Do you have to carry those around all the time?"

Osanna shrugged. She was used to it by now.

"We're never sure who speaks sign language and who doesn't," Naomi explained. "That's just to eliminate the problem."

"So you can't talk at all?"

Osanna shook her head.

Duo looked at her for a moment before he got up and moved off to the side, starting to rummage through things, muttering to himself as he did.

Naomi raised an eyebrow at him, and glanced at Osanna. She had no idea what he was doing now.

"Aha!" Duo grinned as he emerged with a touch screen pad, fiddling with it for a few moments before handing it over to Osanna. "There. That should be easier to work with. Just write with your finger and tilt it to the side to wipe it clean."

Osanna blinked. Hey, this is cool. She grinned as she turned the screen around, looking at the letters backwards.

Naomi looked at it, and reached out to touch it.

"It's a tablet," she said. "A really simple tablet. Or an overgrown Etch-a-Sketch."

"It's an extra I had laying around," Duo said with a shrug. "I have a couple others that I keep connected to the screens so I can run back and forth to Hilde to show her things if I have to."

Naomi just shook her head a bit.

"I just can't wrap my brain around having an extra tablet just lying around. They're worth at least five or six hundred dollars, for good ones, I can't imagine having the means to have so many you can just give them away."

"Technology is much more common here," Duo said, going back to his tinkering. "Besides, I didn't actually buy all of those. And it's necessary for my work."

"I hesitate to even ask what kind of work requires you to have a dozen tablets lying around," Naomi replied. But she was intrigued a little bit at the idea that technology was common enough that tablets were cheap.

"I fix, program, and help build these." Duo tapped the side of the gundam sui. "Mobile suits. It's good work, keeps me busy."

Yea, I'm terrified at the thought of you being bored. Osanna grinned.

Naomi snorted.

"If I didn't know better, I'd say you might have some fox in you," she said to Duo. She glanced at Osanna. "Tell me I'm wrong." She looked up at the giant robot they were next to. " Now this is going to sound like a stupid question," she said, "and it probably is, but humor me. What's a mobile suit?"
