@Kia: Pretty good. :B How about yours?

Here's my little food review. XD
Mochi ice cream.
Recipe: Here

1. The mochiko (sweet rice powder/flour) and water mixed.
(Forgot to add the sugar before I stuck it in the microwave. Orz Only 30 seconds had passed though so I added it, mixed, and it seemed fine.)
2. That 30 seconds out of the microwave, but with sugar this time! I microwaved it for 2:30, at 1 minute intervals.
3. All the microwaving done. (Another thing I kind of messed up on. You're supposed to smooth it out once it's out of the microwave and then let it cool off, but uh.. I let it cool off a bit first. XDD Had to keep dipping my spoon in the water because it's super sticky.)
Also, I used potato starch because I thought I didn't have corn starch. xP
4. You're supposed to get 6 circles out of this, but I didn't stretch the mochi thin enough, so only got 4. As such, they were a bit thicker than the recipe.
5. After some resting time in freezer (I forget how long.. maybe 10 minutes or something), put some red bean ice cream on it and tried to roll it up as best as I could. I put a lot of ice cream though and it was rather mushy because I let it thaw; so it kept squeezing out of the mochi wrapping.
6. I wrapped them individually in saran wrap to keep them from falling apart. Also stuck them in these onigiri shapers I have.
7. After plenty of days of freezing, I finally took one out to thaw a bit and nomnom.
This is the top or.. bottom maybe? I tried to pinch the ends together but the ice cream was having none of that. xD
8. The other side covered in potato starch! It was yummy~ I'm glad none of my goofs or alterations messed anything up.
Custard Pudding
Recipe: Here

1. Didn't have custard cups; so I used ramekins instead. I also messed up the caramel on the first try by using a rubber (was probably plastic or whatever) spatula to try and mix it because the caramelizing was taking a while and I was nervous. Anyway, the spatula melted into the stuff and I had to redo it. And then I ended up burning the second batch, which was very noticeable by the smell, but I used it anyway.
2. Have the caramel on the bottoms and the egg mixture on top. Put foil over each ramekin and cooked~ (Almost forgot the foil too.. gosh. xD)
3. After a bit over an hour of chilling in the fridge. When I poured the egg mixture in some of the caramel came up. I had to gently pour the egg mixture into the ramekins to keep the caramel from coming up too much.
4. Turned over onto a plate! It kind of smushes down a bit when you turn it over. (I put the plate on top then turned it all over.) I liked it! ...Aside from the burnt flavor, but it wasn't horrible enough to not eat. :XD

Kitty: Ah, that's too bad! My parents won't let me get one... I know that if I'm moving into my own apartment for next school year, I'm so getting my own mini fridge for my room. It just makes things handy. And I've got some chocolate soy milk in my fridge at the mo'... So yummy! :D
I used to have my fridge under my bed but in order to do that, it had to be up way too high and was bothering me, so I moved things around.

Kitty:  to get it under the bed, I had to have it up on little blocks to get it up high enough. Was a right good pain to get up on. which is why I moved it out from under... now I've just got a bookshelf, some plastic tubs and a plastic dresser, and random things in said tubs and whatnot under my bed. :P Oh, the joys of limited space in a dorm room.
Oh, I love Silk Chocolate Milk (the soymilk brand Silk).
I'm currently making myself a cup of tea with one of the teas that I bought at the store yesterday. I may have gone a bit over board with tea... but then again, one can't have too much tea!

@Kia: Aww. I'm assuming that means you're a bit better now though right?
And congrats on getting it done! XD
@Shi:  It was a different way of making mochi than the other two I've done before, but worked nonetheless!
I finally made melon pan today too (about 3-4 hours in the kitchen :gonk ), but am worn out from that and getting all the rest of those pictures and such together, I'll just post melon pan tomorrow. xD
All yummy!

Kitty: I love my freedom. As much as I love my parents, I need to get out - I'm just used to being away from home - been away from home for about 4 years now.... I only go home for breaks, and whatnot. Although I know that mum would want me home more often.
And I may be getting an apartment for next school year. Which reminds me, I still need to make that councling appointment tomorrow.

*not going to strangle Ikuyo because Shi's still likes him. Even if he tortures her with sweets*
@Hope: That's understandable for most people.
After having a stressful job while being in college, it was nice to come home and finally breath. With my brother heading off to college, it was a nice transition for the parentals too.

Shi does eat in moderation, especially now.
But seeing yummy stuff like that makes her think of Japan, and that makes her homesick.
And then it makes her envious of not being near Ikuyo's yummy food.... >(

Kitty: Ah - I can understand that. I Was that way when I first moved out at 19. Ya're the same age as my brother... well, a wee bit younger. He just turned 18 about 2 months ago. :)
I'm used to being away from home now. I do get slightly homesick after being there for so long and then leaving again. But I managed a 15 day trip over to Australia this summer, on my own, without getting homesick at all. Of course I was glad to see my family when I got home, but I wasn't as homesick as I thought I'd be. Amazing amazing trip - some of those trip photos on my dA account.
Thanks. Not sure if I'm going for an apartment yet. But we'll see. And yeah, I'm over in the States. :)
Shi: Yeah, it is nice to be able to get away from the insanity of things for awhile. I'm kind of afraid of what my parents are going to do when my brother heads off to college (which is what he's doing next year as he's almost about to graduate).
Iku: Hello there! How're ya doin'? :glomp:
