"I hate to sound cruel here, but that actually helps our argument. Byakuya-san and I are trying to prove that Katia is safer with you Tetsu-sama," Toushiro said, knowing that if Katia did become a 'guest' of Soul Society, Kurotsuchi would want to experiment on her. If that happened...he would not want to be in the path of a vengeful uncle or her cousins...or Ichigo. A small chuckle came out before he could force the thought down.

" I'll have her stay with me. She has been with Kisuke and working at the shop. But I'll do anything to make sure she stays safe." Tetsu said. He didn't want Kurotsuchi to harm Katia or Hoshi. Tetsu still feared that Kurotsuchi had also experimented on Seers in the past. Tetsu hoped he was wrong about that.

Hitsugaya could hear the desperation in Tetsu's voice and the captain didn't blame him. "I'll do my best to help keep Katia with you Tetsu and Hyourinmaru and myself will do everything in our power to keep your niece safe if it comes to that," he replied into the phone. "Although if worse does come to worse, we could always let Ichigo know about this..."

"We could. Is it alright if I let Hoshi and her other cousin know about this. We've all promised to keep Katia safe. " Tetsu said, not sure if Hitsugaya knew that Uryu was related to both Katia and Hoshi.

"Other cousin?" Toushiro asked.

" Yes. Hoshi has two cousins on her mother's side of the family.Katia and Ishida Uryu You said this was a secure line right?" Tetsu asked, wanting to make sure.

"Yes, this is a secure line," Toushiro said as he thought of Tetsu's question before quickly coming to an answer, "Also, you can tell them, but I don't think you should let Katia-san know, not just yet.

" Alright I won't yet, but I promise to keep an eye on her. " Tetsu said. He would ask if she would like to stay over but hated to keep this from them for the time being.

Ishida was wondering what was taking Tetsu so long on the phone, hoping that nothing wrong was going on.

Tetsu said goodbye to Captain Hitsugaya and hung up the phone. He sighed a little bit before heading back to the living room. " Sorry about that. " He said.

"It's alright," Ishida said, wondering what the call was about.

" It was just a summary of the last captains meeting. It's not usual for me to be on the phone that long. I think the longest was about 3 hours. " Tetsu said , glad that he could have something that resembled a normal life. " Would either of you like to stay over since it's getting late.


Saya had been with her aunt that evening and had looked at apartments. She hoped Ishida was alright since he had been angry that afternoon.

Ishida whistled lightly at that number, surprised. "It's a good thing you don't have to pay for those calls then," he responded. "I think it would be a good idea to stay here for the night, if you don't mind," he replied. Even if he had refused initially, he knew that Katia would want to stay, and as such, decided to take the easy way out and just agree.

" Alright.Ill get the spare futon ready. " Tetsu said.

" I'll get the other one ready for you Katia. " Hoshi said with a smile.

"thank you," both of them said.

Tetsu went to the hall closet and got the futon out for Ishida while Hoshi had Katia follow her to her room. " If I wake up in the middle of the night, don't worry. It usually happens when I have a vision. " Hoshi explained as she got the futon ready for Katia.

"Are you sure you'll be okay?" Katia asked as she followed Hoshi to her room.

" I'm sure." Hoshi said, hoping she would be. She got the futon ready on the floor and asked Katia," Would you like to use a pair of my pajamas?"

"Do you mind. Yoruichi-sama helped get me some clothes, but not everything, at least not yet," Katia replied.

Ishida saw Tetsu bring the futon into the room and moved towards to help him. "Thanks once again for letting us sleep the night Tetsu-san," Ishida said, hoping that Tetsu would tell him about what that call was about.

" I don't mind. " Hoshi said and got a pair of pajamas for Katia.

" You're welcome. I'm guessing you want to know what the phone call was about. " Tetsu said.

"Alright," Katia said with a small smile as she thanked Hoshi.

Ishida nodded. "I would, especially since you seemed a little angry after hanging up the phone. I must admit that you were good at hiding it from the girls though," he responded.

" I didn't want to worry them.Some of the Captains want to question Katia to make sure she's telling the truth. But I dont want Katia to feel that we've betrayed her, though Captain Hitsugaya and Captain Kuchiki have been trying to convince them that Katia is better off with me. I don't want her to have to go there. I'm just afraid that something bad might happen to her. " Tetsu said. He hoped it wouldn't have to come to that. " Also, Heuco Mundo is off limits in an effort to prevent Ichigo from getting trapped. You and I both know Ichigo would go anyway if a friend was in trouble. " Tetsu added.

"You're afraid of what Mayuri-teme would do to Katia, aren't you?" Ishida asked a little bluntly. He had met and fought the man when they went to rescue Rukia, completely understanding where Tetsu was coming from if that was the case. He knew he couldn't access that type of power again, so he wasn't sure if he could beat the 12th captain if it came down to that.

I just have one thing to say about Hueco Mundo being off limits. I would like to see them try and stop Kurosaki."

" I am. " Tetsu said solemnly. " So would I. Though I hope it doesn't come to that. I still wonder if this action will prevent those horrors from happening. From what I've learned about seers, sometimes the action to prevent something horrible , may jut be what causes it to happen. " Tetsu said thinking about the things Fumi told him.

"What do you mean?" he asked out of curiosity.
