Ichigo saw that the arrows had stopped coming and wondered what was going on. 'Perhaps Ren-jiji is giving up? pfft, like that's gonna happen. Close range maybe?' Ichigo thought to himself as he waited for whatever would happen, his eyes and senses open for anything.

Ren started to run toward Ichigo, like he had been taught to do as a boy , by his father. Akihiro wanted Ren to be as good a fighter as his maternal grandfather Hiromitsu had once been. There had been stoires that his grandfather had been a samurai. Ren had his sword ready for the battle, and was looking forward to seeing Ichigo use his Bankai.

'It's probably a good idea to switch to Bankai...' Ichigo thought to himself, knowing that the speed granted to him would be a great boost. That blade was also better for fighting in close range since it was smaller and lighter than his shikai. Before Ren could reach him, Ichigo quickly transformed Zangetsu into Tensa Zangetsu.

Ren grinned at the sight of the smaller sword and got ready for a battle. He had a feeling this fight would be enough for Ichigo's Quincy powers to finally be unlocked, then the real training could begin.

Ichigo prepared himself, knowing that the old man in front of him would give him a good hard fight. While he wondered what that new itching feeling was in the back of his head, he put it to the side for now, knowing that he couldn't afford the distraction.

Ren was glad that he was now sensing Ichigo's Quincy side getting to the point of unlocking." Don't ignore the itching feeling you have, just let it out and focus your energy." Ren said, wondering what Ichigo's bow would look like.

"You sure I should focus on that? How do you even know it's going on?" Ichigo asked, keeping his sword up in front of him.

" You should. It's your Quincy powers wanting to manifest into a bow. Focus on making that energy in to a solid bow. I can sense your Quincy side now that it's been unlocked." Ren said.

(Sorry...I've been completely busy with like five different chats today with different types of stuff)

"If you say so," Ichigo muttered, focusing on the itchy feeling he was getting. Unknowingly, the pendant that his grandfather had given him started to glow.

( that's okay. Was watching movies all day. Got Netflix and found some movies that were good. Now watching Sons of Anarchy)

Ren grinned. "Focus on forming a bow. It will manifest it's self into it's intended form. Once it's formed, focus on making an arrow of the energy around you." He instructed.

(I never got into that)

"Alright," Ichigo said as he focused on the feeling. Before long, a bow started to form, having several small spikes on the spiritual bow. 'Interesting...' he thought to himself before imaging an arrow and drawing back on it, drawing on experience of seeing Uryuu do it several times before. What he didn't expect was the spikes starting to glow as well.

Ren grinned and moved out of the way. " Now draw back and release the arrow. Try to aim at the large rock that's closest to us. Working on your aim is an early skill that Quincies learn once they first form their bow. After a few tries, I want you to get back in your body and try to form your bow in that form. " Ren said.

"If you say so," Ichigo said before drawing back the bow and letting the arrow fly. What he didn't expect was the two other arrows firing out from the two spikes on the bow, both at a 45 degree angle from the original arrow.

" Good job. " Ren said, impressed with the bow Ichigo had. He now wondered what Karin's looked like. " we still have an hour or so
before we need to head on back , but I'm sure your grandma will understand if we're just a little but late. She's making spicy beef curry and her saffron rice moulds. " Ren said.

"I'm sure she will," Ichigo said as he chuckled lightly, glad that he had unlocked the basics of his Quincy powers. Now all he had to do was master them.

" Now lets see how you do in your body. I just want to be sure you can use your Quincy abilities in both forms. " Ren said. He was glad that the training was going well.

Ichigo nodded, before heading back to his body and getting back into it, ignoring the weird feeling that he got whenever he did so. "Okay, so now what? I just focus on that itchy feeling I got like before?" he asked.

" Right. Channel the energy you feel the same way you did as before." Ren said. He was looking forward to doing more training later.

"Alright," Ichigo said as he did as his grandfather asked, feeling the energy tingling down his arm before collecting in the pendant around his wrist.

" Now try to do the same thing you did before. I want you to be able to fight in both forms, but I want to focus on your human form first. You can use Shunpo while in your body. Kisuke taught me many years ago a technique that he adapted for Quincies. It's more efficient than the technique that the Quincies adapted. " Ren said.

"Alright, now I'm curious as to what you mean..." Ichigo said as he willed the bow to come back into focus, hoping that it worked just like he did a few moments ago.

" It's similar to how a Shinigami uses it, but Shinigami would be much faster than a Quincy would. " Ren said as he watched Ichigo.

"Alright," Ichigo said before he felt the reiatsu surround his pendant before taking shape of the bow once more. "Although I wonder if it's faster than my bankai," he said, completely curious.

"It will be interesting to see. You are quite an impressive fighter. " Ren said with a grin. " You get that from both your father and your mom. " He added with a sad smile.

Ichigo withdrew the reiatsu from his pendant, his bow quickly dissolving into particles of light. "What was she like? I only have a few memories of her," he asked softly.
