-five months later-
on a peaceful sunny day, the sea was calm and all that could be heard was the seagulls flying above head, on the ship Dante was fast asleep, he stirred a bit every now and again, he hugged Karuku close to him and snuggled his head into her chest, he opened his eyes and smiled up at her, she was asleep and he didn't want to awake her

The five months had both seemed to fly by and also move in slow motion for Karuku. She was showing quite a bit and she was starting to really have pains... though she was happy and couldn't wait till her baby was here. She had told Kaze that she didn't want to know the gender yet so he hadn't told her though she had a feeling she knew already. At the moment she was sleeping in bed with Dante though she was sleeping on her back. It was hard right now to sleep on her side and Kaze had gotten after her when he saw her laying on her side... he said it wasn't good for the baby. Kaze was actually starting to get a bit worried about his captain. Right now he served as he doctor and would check on her every few hours and every day or two to see if she was dilating(I think it's spelled wrong XP ). Lately he had noticed that she was quite a bit and got worried... he was worried that she was almost due and would probably go into laber any day now. It was a bit too early for that... about four weeks too early and he wasn't sure what that would do for the baby. He walked to Dante's and Karuku's room and knocked at the door softly then peaked in. He saw that Karuku was still asleep though he wasn't sure if Dante was or not.

Dante hadn't noticed anything wrong with Karuku, but he did notice Kaze had been showing up alot, he was getting a bit worried that kaze knew something he did, he heard a nock and looked at the door then saw kaze's head poke in "good morning... um Kaze..." he got up and snuck over to him "... is there something im missing? its just... you seem to be around alot... and im worried somethings wrong with Karuku"

"Uh... actually I wanted to talk to you about that... could you come out here so we can talk without waking Karuku?" Kaze asked softly as he glanced around Dante to see that Karuku was still sleeping peacefully unaware that her lover had gotten up. It wasn't really something to worry too much about though Kaze thought that Dante should know and be ready for the worst though look forward for the best.

Dante nodded a bit as he looked back at karuku with a small smile "i shall no be long" he whispered as if she could here him, he then turned to kaze with a blank face "ok... lets go" he whispered as he walked out of the door and awaited Kaze to come out of the door, he was now slowly begining to feel a light dread build up in his heart "ok... so whats the news?"

"Well... the baby's going to be premature and... it's unlikely though there is a chance that... something could go wrong... I was the one that delivered Shishi and Karuku... well she almost didn't make it through. She knew this though she didn't care... I think that she thinks everything will be fine. I think she's right though there's no way to be sure right now. Shishi was a merical for Karuku and Baindo... they didn't think that she would live though both her and Karuku pulled through. She probably didn't want to tell you about this because she didn't want you to worry and she wanted you to be happy. I think that everything'll be fine but there is that small chance. Don't worry about it but I wanted to make sure you knew just in case... I'm not saying it'll happen I just don't want you to go into this having absolutely no clue then having the slight chance of it happening." he said softly though tried to make it clear as possible that it was just a very very small chance that it would happen... though it was actually a bigger chance though still small... he thought that she would pull through fine though.

Dante listen to him and felt a sudden wave of dread, the news he was hearing was shocking, it may be a small possibility, but it was one he was dreading "d-does... S-Shishi know about t-this?" he said struggling to speak "a-and... i must get back to her... i-it may be small... but i-im not risking it, i will be there for her" he said as he turned to the room and quietly walked in with a tear forming, but before he entered the room he turned around and shut the door "i... i can't... w-what if i DO loose her?... i-i wont b-be able to take it... she so special... no-one knows how much karuku means to me, she is pretty much my life, with out her, there is no me"

"No... Shishi doesn't know that Karuku is even her mother." Kaze said then sighed as he watched Dante go into the room and close the door. He knew it was the right thing to tell him... would be even worse if Karuku did die after or while having the child and Dante not having a clue that she might die. He sighed again then turned and when he looked he saw Shishi standing at the end of the hall stunned and cursed under his breath. "Shishi.." he said though before he could move to her she ran to her room and locked the door. "Crap..." he muttered and went to knock on Shishi's door though a force-field pushed him away and kept him away.

After a little bit Karuku woke up and yawned softly. She looked at Dante and smiled at him softly. Though when she saw the tear in his eyes she got worried. "What's wrong love? Why do you look like you're about to cry?" she asked softly as she reached up and placed her hand softly on his cheek. Of course Kaze was right and she knew what might happen though she didn't think it would and she didn't care... she wanted to have a child with Dante and she highly doubted that she would die.

Dante watched her as she slept and tried holding it back, once she woke up and smiled at him he was about to smile back until she noticed his tears and he heard her words and felt her hand on his cheek, he broke into tears, he held her hand with one of his hand "oh Karuku..." he then hugged her close and cried into her should "why didn't you tell me" he sobbed, he tried to hold the tears back but couldn't

Karuku was confused when she heard him and felt him hugging her and didn't understand. Why didn't she tell him what? "Love what are you talking about? What did I not tell you?" she asked thinking and could think of a few things though none of them concerned him so why was he so upset?

dante let go off her and looked into her eyes "the fact... you almost died... and that you could again" he sniffled as he then continued to sob "i mean, what if you did... you know... it would literaly kill me" he said looking down with tears dripping off of his nose "i... i just can't get it out of my head"

Karuku went pale as she heard him and knew who told him right away. "W-why would Kaze tell you that? Dante it won't happen... I didn't want to scare you... I wanted a family with you and I didn't think that it would happen though I wasn't sure. The chances are so low that I didn't care. You know... I actually asked Kaze before that what he thought and he told me the probability and it was so low that I didn't think about telling you... I didn't want you to say no." she said softly and wished that Kaze had just kept his mouth shut about it like he told her that he would.

Dante listened to her and sniffled "he felt he had too..." he then listened again and nodded slowly but it was clear there was still worry in him "what if it does though...... thats it... i will never let you out from my sight, i promise i shall always be by your side no matter what, even if one of use needs a bath or needs to eat or needs anything, i shall not leave your side for anything" he said gently kissing her cheek

"Ow Dante... you really shouldn't worry about that. It's not like I'm just gonna drop dead. What Kaze was talking about was during and right after I had Shishi. I think it was because of the blood loss though I'm not sure... it won't happen okay? You don't have to do that." Karuku said softly moving slightly and kissing his lips softly and lovingly as if to prove her point.

Dante smiled lightly and nodded "o-ok... i... i will try not to worry so much then" he said kissing her back "oh... i planned to stand on deck with you and give you your surprise" he said as he gently took her hand "come on, im sure you will like it" he said cheaking his pocket, his hand laid upon a small box which made him smile a bit more "i hope you do"

Karuku was slightly confused though nodded some and slowly got out of bed being careful since she was almost due... she didn't want to do anything that could trigger her going into labor.

Dante smiled and gently picked her up, he then very carefully carried her up to the top deck, he placed her on her feet gently and smiled "its a beautiful day... and a perfect one to ask" he said smiling widely, he reached into his pocket and pulled out a small box "Karuku..." he got to his knee and opened up the box while smiling "... will you marry me?"

Karuku was a bit confused when she heard him talk about how it was such and nice day though when he got down on one knee she could almost feel her heart stutter to a halt. It took her a minute to even think before a wide smile graced her lips and in a normal situation she would get down and hug him though since she was pregnant she knew that wasn't a good idea. "Yes! Yes I would be honored!" she smiled as she took the box and looked at the beautiful ring inside.
