Terraria is a 2-D game that's brought up many comparisons to Minecraft. In Terraria you fight monsters and gather resources to craft items and create buildings. However, it goes farther than that. If you build a nice building, NPCs will move in and sell you things or heal you, depending on what type of room you've built. You can build a sword to fight of monsters. Better yet, build a space gun to shoot down monsters. You don't just fight zombies, there's also flying eyeballs and Cthulhu and much much more.
All of my minecraft playing friends are obsessed with it. I've just started and it's hard not to compare it to Minecraft, but make no mistake, they are completely different games. Those zombies really need to stop knocking on my door. I don't want to buy their zombie scout brain cookies! :P
Anyone else playing? Or maybe interested in playing?

I've played a bit on my brothers account, but I'm not very far into it. I feel a little left out because I'm not too thrilled with it; it's fun and all, but it doesn't seem to grip me like Minecraft... :shot:
It's interesting though, and still fun! I just wish the Guide NPC would stop opening the door for the zombies xD
Yeah, I started playing it and I am also not as enamored with it as everybody else seems to be. It's fun and different, but it just hasn't grabbed me like Minecraft has. In fact, the 2-D feels rather restrictive to me when you're used to wandering a whole 3-d world in Minecraft!
I haven't had him open doors, just splash in pools above my head. The zombies just keep knocking until I open the door and kill them.
It seems interesting, but it seems a bit too heavily focused on fighting for me. :ninja: I much prefer the building/exploring stuff in Minecraft, since it's less dependent on killing things (which I just fail miserably at...). D:
I love Terraria! To me it has the perfect balance of fighting and building. Though the only cool home-base area I've made was a castle.
With the most recent patch and the upcoming patch though the game is changing alot. I don't know why but I can still play it and have fun while everyone I know is bored of it.
My friends are still in love with it and I'm still not. But I haven't been playing it lately, so maybe with more play I'll enjoy it more. Or maybe I just don't like the things my friends like. I started playing Amnesia the other day and I wasn't scared at all and I didn't have any fun, but they all love it. :gonk:
@ For-chan: My brother showed me a trailer for that game. It seems really silly. I only get into RPGs mainly, and I love games like Harvest Moon so Terraria was kind of like it ^_^
@Liz: My brother bought the 4-pack and made me and his friend plus our brother play the game with him for a week straight. But that was back when it first was released.
