Tessa soon got to a room with Neva and then sat her down. "we need you." she said simply and Neva sighed. "i though you said that I had a few days off to recover." Tessa sighed and nodded, "i know I know and normally you would but we need you. We just got news that our one troop got captured and I need smoeone to get them. I need you to get htem." she said as she looked at Neva. Neva could tell something was different about this one, it was as if Tessa was desperate. So she nodded, "fine, but when I get back I expect to rest." she said and as soona s she said those words she was out of that room, dressed and off to get the troop. It was simple and soon she was on her way back with the troop that had been captured. But then something exploded and Neva was hit in the head. All she remembered seeing was shapes moving and then silence before she blacked out. The troop that Neva had rescued managed to get out of the explotion and get back. But when Tessa saw that they didn't have neva they sent out a search party.

Finally, the doctors decided to release him. Alex was wandering around base, looking for Neva, when a member he didn't know ran up to him. Apparently, Tessa wanted him. On the way, the soldier filled him in. He was being temporarily pulled from his squad for a search and rescue op. Alex visited the armory. the officer in charge looked at him funny, saying, "Its a surprise to see you down here. Can't you summon weapons?" Alex shrugged and said, "Yeah, but I'd rather keep a real one with me this time. i've got a bad feeling." So, from the armory, he drew a combat knife, a revolver, and an assault rifle. The knife was sharp on one side, serrated on the other, and about 16 inches long. The assault rifle had a thermal scope, a grenade launcher, and could hold thirty two round of ammunition. he was assigned the gunner seat on the helicopter, then they took off. They got the briefing about halfway to the drop zone. An elite member was sent in to rescue captured personnel, but never returned. Their job was to eliminate enemy operatives, and return the member alive. Alex nodded. Seemed simple enough. After this, then he could tell Neva how he felt.

Neva groaned as she felt someone touch her and voices. Slowly as she opened her eyes she saw some people around her. "she's awake." the one guy said and soon others were around her. "who are you and what do you want with us?" the one guy said and looked to be the leader. Neva tried to think of her name for a second but pain shot threw her head and she ended up holding it. Once it passed she looked at the guy weakly, "I dont know." she said softly, "but I know who you are, your the leader of the rebels names Benjamin." she said as she looked at him. Benjmain was caught off guard but then smiled as he figured it out. The blast had caused her to lose her memory and she looked to be able to know everything. She could come in handy. So he looked at the other man, "come on, we need to take her back." he said and they all nodded. Neva just sat there as they pulled her ot her feet and started to take her away. As they did they told her stories about who she was and what she was doing. By the time they got to there base camp she knew that she was Benjamins adoptive sister. She was only a few years younger then him and her parents died long ago. They were all that they had and most importantly her name. She was Runa.

Alex was climbing the outside of the target building. He silently placed a charge on the window, and signaled the rest of the team. he created a blast shield around the charge, and held up three fingers, then made an okay symbol. When the man below him signaled okay back, he held three gingers up again. Then two. Then one. the he set the charge off, and dove through the explosion into the room, spraying fire on the way in. He immediately took out two, and he shot the third in the leg. Before the guy fell, Alex sprinted forward, and slammed the other guy against the wall as hard as he could. Drawing his knife, he stabbed him in the arm so hard, its point got stuck in the wooden wall. Alex shouted, "Where is she!?! What have you done with her!?!" He'd found out on the helicopter that Neva was the one who'd been captured. The thug stammered that he didn't know, and begged for mercy, but Alex slit his throat anyway. Summoning a shotgun, he kicked down the door, and shot a man at point blank range. The blast was so powerful, that his arms and legs fell straight down, while his torso, head, and neck went flying across the room. Walking up to the last few guys, he pulled his revolver and repeated the same questions to one of them. When another yelled not to say anything, Alex shot him in the face, then turned the bloody revolver back to the first. The man quickly gave up the location where they had taken her. He summoned a jeep, and floored it towards there, ignoring the team leader's calls to wait. Hold on Neva, he thought, I'll be there soon.

Runa smiled as her brother Benjamin told her everything about there past and slowly he created a life for her. He told her about how they took her into his family and that they were close. He told her stories of how there parents were killed and that they were fightig against them. She believed everything and slowly she formed a life from his words. When word that the one building of there comrade got hit she growled, "we should go and attack!" she said, "come on Ben, I want to get them back." she said and benjamin laughed, it was so easy to use her and he found that he was happy to have her as a part of his family. "don't worry runa, they will come and with your power you can kill them all." he said as be loomed at her and smiled, "but for now we shouldgo and get ready for a attack." he said as he placed a hand on her shoulder and started to lead her out of there and I to a room to get ready for a fight.

Alex was going room to room in the building. Occasionally, another enemy appeared, but he took them out in a cold precision that made the rest flee before him. He came to a locked door, and stopped. he could blast through, but it would take time to set up the charges. He summoned a couple of machine-guns, and some other spare parts, and some duct tape. A few minutes later, he had a pair of motion sensitive turrets covering his back. He prepared the charges, and was halfway done when his turrets started to fire. He could feel the drain on his energy, because they used lots of ammo, and he had to constantly regenerate it. He set the charges, and summoned a force field. Out of habit, and a willingness not to just kill people he yelled as loud as he could, "Fire in the hole!" The door fell in with a mighty crash. He ran through the smoke, into the room beyond.

Right when the door blew down and Alex came in Benjamin yelled, "attack." right away they all charged and runa tackled the manthat came Into the room. Quickly she yelled, "knock him out, that is his powers weakness or get him to keep using it." everyone nodded and quickly getting to work on his guns and everything. Once she got into a good position he smiled, "nighty night." she said and wacked him in the head, complately knocking him out. Benjamin smiled at runa, "great job sis, now let's go tie him up. We can use him later." she nodded and quickly dragged him away and tied him to a chair before he woke up.

When he woke up,k he was confused. Did Neva help them attack him? did she only show up as a trap to get him? but who would want him. When his eyes cam into focus, he looked around, and didn't see anybody. He considered his options, and decided to wait it out. He could escape at any time, with or without his powers, he just wanted to see what they wanted. He didn't have to wait long. The leader of the group came through the door he was facing. With Neva. He felt like crying, but his old training kicked in, and all of his emotions turned off. Almost all of them. He'd never loved anybody before, so he wasn't good at blocking out those emotions. When they stopped, Alex listed off his codename, his Anti-skill rank, and his serial number. then he said, "That's all I have to say. So give me one good reason I should say anything else." He though about all of the ways he could escape, unfortunately, the only one that seemed like it would work involved killing Neva. He wasn't sure he could do that, not for anybody.

Runa walked in and watched as her brother question the man and get his information. Benjamin then laughed when he heard him, "you should tell us more because if you don't we will torture you." he said and pointed at runa. "you see my sister knows a lot, she knows what gets to people and what gets under there skin. So if your not careful she will use that to get any information from you." he said and runa smiled and nodded. "oh and don't bother trying to get out of here. I may look small but I can kill you any time I want. So if you move tomfet our of here you will find a knife at your neck." she said coldly. The tone told you right away she didn't remember him at all. It was as if she was a completely different person now.

Alex felt like crying. instead he laughed. "I know her far better than you do, I think. You may have brainwashed her, and she will probably kill me. but i still know how to beat her." While they were distracted by his speech, he summoned a sand bag, which knocked off Neva's goggles. He snapped his arms out, and the large muscles in them snapped the ropes. He lunged forward, and wrapped his fingers around the leader's throat. While they were rolling around he shouted, "What did you do to Neva!?! Tell me, or I'll kill you in the most painful way i can think of. And trust me, I'm pretty fucking sadistic!" He jacked they guy up against the wall, and punched him in the chest so hard, at last three ribs broke. A bunch of guards ran in, and instead of actually fighting, Alex crouched down and began to summon grenade after grenade. Suddenly a disturbing thought occurred to him. This is exactly what happened at that school.... He shook the thought away. When the firestorm was done, The leader was unconscious next to him. Neva was on the floor, and the guards were all dead. The roof above Neva was crumbling, and with a crack one of the support beams fell down right above Neva. Alex dove, and threw her out of the way, but the beam caught his leg. She was beginning to stir in front of him. Alex hoped she remembered him. Or she'd kill him. Or even worse he'd have to kill her.

Runa was surprised when he hit her with a sand bag and didn't understand anything he said before that. She didn't know him, he was just some guy. But when she came to and she opened her eyes pain shot threw her because of her powers. Quickly she looked around and smiled when she found the goggles and pulled them on her face. They were banged up but they did the trick. She then looked for her brother and when she saw him she glared at the guy they captured, "I don't know who the fuck you are but remember this I will kill you for hurting my brother." she said and quickly managed to get her brother and carried him out of there. She knew she could of killed that guy there but something inside of her didn't want to so she went foe saving Benjamin. She headed down the secret escape enterence and let it close as her and her brother escaped.

Alex was extremely confused. What did she mean brother? Didn't she used to live by herself in the alley? He shook his head. He had to focus. He felt crushed, in more ways then the literal. He had hoped that she would remember him. he guessed that there was only one option left. As much as he hated it, there was no way they could let someone with Neva's powers run amok with that gang. She would either have to regain her memory..... or be eliminated. There was no way that he would let anybody else hurt her, so he would have to be the one to do it. He freed himself from the rubble, and gave chase to where they had dissipated. Since he'd been facing the only door, there had to be a secret passage here. He just sent a small bomb flying at the wall and ran through the entrance. Oddly enough, he no longer felt sad. He only felt empty inside. He charged through the various passages, until he saw her carrying the leader. No matter what happened, it would end here. He tackled them from behind, pinning Neva's arms to her sides. One thing he was glad for, they may have redone her memory, but not her body. He was still stronger than her, barely. He spun her around and stared her directly in the face. "Look at me.' He said forcefully. "Take a good look, and TELL me you don't remember." he told her everything, form how they met, to how they lived at his house, to them in the hospital. then he finished, with, "I lover you dammit! How could you just forget that!?" He was doing his best not to cry and he said, "Use your power. Learn everything about me. You know I'm telling the truth." He hoped that that would break their hold on her mind... but if not, he would have to end it here, and he wasn't sure he could do that anymore....

Runa was surprised when she was pinned by that guy and thought he was going to kill her. But instead he was talking tonher and telling things. When she looked at him she knew that it was true since her powers told her but her head started to hurt. It wasn't the normal hurt from not wearing the glasses. It was as if there was too mich knowledge in her mind and it was too much to handle. She screamed in pain and wanted to couch her head but she couldn't. So pain ran threw her head and when it became too much her mind just shut down. The last thing she said was, "I love you too.." but that was it before the pain took hwr and she just layed here unconcious.

Alex was panicking. It seemed like the old Neva had come back for a moment, but then she immediately passed out. He tried to wake her, Even summoning a few smelling salts, but to no avail. That leader was starting to stir, and Alex Felt the fury rise up in him again. He contained it for now, and satisfied himself by tying up the guy. A half hour later, he was emerging from the building with bothy of them in tow. He handed over the prisoner, but flat out refused to let anybody else touch Neva. When they got back to the base, a team of doctors and surgeons rushed in, and took her from him. He followed her for as long as they would let him. When he was milling about outside the operating room, Tessa walked up, mouth open as if to speak. The look on his face made her forget whatever she was going to say. "Leave." He said, barely under control. "now." And she did, but more out of respect than fear. About fifteen minutes later, an agent walked up, as a messenger. They were interrogating the prisoner, to find out what he did with Neva, and they wanted to know if he wanted to do the interrogating. He walked into the sound proof room with an evil smile on his face. The other guy paled, and yelled, "I won't talk. You can't make me." Alex's grin widened even further, "Remember when I said I was a sadistic bastard? Well, you're about to find out how sadistic." And he approached the tied down man slowly.

the doctors worked on Neva but after a few minutes they realized there wasn't much they could do. All the damage was in her mind and no one could get int. Inside her head thoug Neva was trying to figure things out. Her mind was filled with everything from everyone she had ever met. She had to pull together her own life and figure out what was true and false about it .

Alex summoned a knife, and the guy laughed. When Alex cocked an eyebrow, the guy said, "You can't do anything with that. If you kill me, you lose any chance at fixing your girlfriend." Alex smiled humorlessly. "First what's your name?" He told Alex. "Okay, Benjamin, Who said i was going to stab you?" Alex began to peel every layer of Ben's skin off. Until he was sitting there, with literally no skin. Ignoring the screams of agony, Alex asked, "What did you do to her?" Benjamin spat blood at him and yelled "Fuck you!" "Wrong answer." Alex sent someone for a few things. When they returned, Alex grabbed a double handful of salt, and began to rub him as hard as he could. Some flesh came off, and Alex felt his gorge rise, but he kept it down. He had to know. After another 'fuck you' Alex held up a piece of sandpaper, and showed it clearly, to Benjamin. He said quietly, "All you have to do is tell me, and I'll stop. Benny-boy, the decision's yours." he clamped his mouth shut. Alex sighed, and began to rub him even harder with the sand paper. Screaming, Benjamin finally said, "ALL RIGHT! I'LL BLOODY TALK!" Alex made him wait, while a bunch of techs and doctors rushed in. The doctors fixed him after he told the techs what his group did. Meanwhile Alex inquired, and found Neva's room. He pulled up a chair next to her bed, and held her hand. He knew that it wasn't the case, but he hoped his touch helped her through whatever was going on in her head.

Neva mummbled his name when he took her hand and her hand slowly grasped onto his. But inside her mind she was still sorting hints out. Right when she managed to sort one bin more things came up and sometimes she would start thinking she was someone else. It was hard to figure out who she was half the time. But then she would find out she was herself and slowly she had to do everything over again.

Alex flat out refused to Leave the room. Some techs cam in and scanned her brain, but came up clueless. He really wished there was something he could do, It was torture to just sit here and wait. But, he refused to even leave to find out if there was anything. It seemed like it would be a while before she woke up, and Alex wanted to be there when she did.

Days turned into weeks and soon a month had passed by since the incident had occured. Most of he doctor thought she went into a comma from everything but no one really knew. But soon Neva started to stirr more and then a eye opened. Slowly she sat up and looked around, wondering were she was at the moment. She had finally managed to get. Her mind I. Order and could remember who she was and everything else.

Alex had fallen asleep on the bed next to Neva, but when she sat up, he woke looking at her. At first he thought it was a dream, but when he realized it was reality, he dove forward and wrapped her into a giant hug. "Neva!" He cried with joy, "You're back."

Neva was surprised when Alex dove at her and hugged her. But she smiled after a second and hugged him back, "sorry I was gone." she said and then pulled away so that she could see his face. "how long have I been here?" she asked as she looked at him. She was glad to be able to wake up to him and wanted to stay close to him.

"At least a month." Alex said, He tried to kick the sleeping bag he'd been using under her bed surreptitiously, but he wasn't sure if she noticed or not. He wished that he'd had more warning. He would have gotten rid of all the dead flowers. Every week, he'd brought her a vase every week since she'd been here. He was surprisingly content though. She was back from the recesses of her mind, the city was quiet, and nothing seemed like it would separate them again. He suddenly frowned. He'd finally told her how he felt, but did she remember? He decided to wait for a few days, and if she didn't he would tell her then, but for now he didn't want to overload her. He was just happy she was finally awake.

Neva frowned, "I didn't know I was out that long." she said softly but then looked at Alex, "sorry it took so long but I had to sort my mind. It is much harder then you would think." she said as she looked at him. Her stomach then growled and she blushed slightly, "I guess I am hungry, can we go get some food?" she asked as she looked at him.

Alex swiftly agreed, but when they went to leave, the doctors said no, she needed rest. Alex brought her back to her room and said with a twinkle in his eye. "Wait right here. I'll be back." About half an hour later, He came back. he had some burgers stuffed in a back pack, and two large sodas from the fast food joint across the street in either pants leg. he would have carried them in, but there was no food in the hospital, except what they served in the caf. He wasn't stealthy with it, what with the ice making shk shik noises as he walked, but nobody stopped him, and he soon made it to Neva's room.

Neva frowned when she heard the doctors but layed back down in bed. She the. Watched him go and smiled. She then thought about he time she had in her mind. Sure she could of stayed like that but the o e thing that kelt het going was one memory and that was when ex said he loved her. She wondered if it was true a d hoped it was. She then heard him come back and chuckled,what is that sound?" she asked as she loomed at him.
