:glomp: don't be afraid to give them a try! If you don't like them there is a way to undo them without having to cut them (takes a day or two though).

Maybe someday when my hair is a bit longer, then. They sure do sound nice for summer! C: I especially like it when people string metal and wooden beads and stuff on them, or when they take one dread and use it to knot up the others. Looks so sweet.

Buns are a lot of fun to do! You should also check out dread sleeves (or peyotes). Those are so cute! I'm going to get one customized. I might try stringing one or two feathers in my dreads.

Feathers sound super cute. You should do it! :D I googled dread sleeves also, I like those a lot. I have a couple roleplay characters with dreads and it's always fun to pick out accessories for them.

That's awesome! Haha, when I roleplay, I also make my characters have dreads! (party because on the site I roleplay on there are more girls than guys so typically they need male characters. Most of the male characters end up with little bowl beiber cuts and its kinda boring. So I like to spice it up a bit xD).

Yeah, that is kind of the go-to hairstyle when you need a young, attractive guy, huh? Too bad. There's so many more to choose from!

Right on! It's kinda funny because I think secretly most of the girls on the RP site I get on do like dreads on guys (or just dreads period). If I'm forced to play a male character and I make them have dreads then 9/10 times if it is a high school roleplay or something of a teen story, the girl characters will want to get with my character over the beiber cut guy characters xD. Sometimes if i'm competing for a spot and they only have room for one person, usually making a character with dreads will make mine stand out and they will choose mine.

Lol, it catches their attention, for sure. Dreads are, if nothing else, assurance that you will stand out from a crowd.

I personally like dreads, just not on myself. ( The ones from my own hair that is)
I've had synthetic dreads braided in and I loved them with my life. The reason I had synthetic ones is because I work with horses and I'm scared that if I have real dreads, all kinds of dirt and other nasty things come into my hair and I can't get them clean properly. Thus will stink.
I do love seeing girls with orange/red hair with medium dreads. It looks amazing and very relaxed.

There is always a solution: A. Wear a headscarf B. Wash your dreads properly after you finish. To wash them properly you need to get a residue free shampoo and make sure to squeeze it through the dreads and then rinse with water. Afterwards just squeeze all the water out and make sure they are dry and wallah. They should never smell bad unless you have some weird mold growing because you didn't dry your hair all the way or you just never wash your hair at all.
If you have any other questions or concerns you could just go here:
They offer some great solutions and a lot of the members have had dreads for 6+ years

I hate not being able to get mine done yet but at least I can continue growing my hair out in the meantime. It's just a few inches shy of my bum since I got it trimmed last month. The longer, the better. I don't want my dreads to fall too close to my shoulders so I'm definitely giving myself at least six inches of hair as a buffer.

Hmm, I never really thought about hair length in dreads before. How much do dreads typically shorten your hair? Like does 1 foot become 6 inches long, or so?

On average, your length shortens by about six inches. I don't do medium or short hair hence why I'm growing mine out as long as possible before getting them done. The boyfriend can't wait, he's almost as eager as I am.

A friend of mine has dreads and they look horrible on her.
If you do them properly and they look good with who you are and what YOU look like, then sure, I have no problem with them.
I like when people put fake ones in to add color or whatever, I think those look cool.

Oh man, mohawks! I think it would be awesome if my boyfriend would get one, but the style really doesn't suit him. He's much too clean cut for that.

Meh, he could still get one. 30 isn't too old for it. The 40-50 range would be pushing it though lol. Has he gotten dreads before?

He's not a dread type of guy though he did say he'd get his hawk again if we wound up having a son because it'd be adorable to have them match.
I loved it best when it was red.

Awwwww that would be a cool idea. Matching father and son! I really don't think getting another mohawk would look bad at all. I wonder has anyone with dreads tried to do like a weird sorta fauxhawk.
gawd, i want the little wraps
