Usually when I'm craving something
I can already taste it in my mouth
so I end up not craving it in the end.

I guess it really doesn't matter food is food. Would you ask the same to a child in Africa that hasn't eaten for days?

@ Mr_Black - Uh, thank you captain obvious for
that amazing insight.
But that's besides the point and doesn't change
the situation at all. Of course, ANY starving
child or adult would want food no matter
what kind of food it is. Location doesn't
make it any worse or better.

I don't mean to be rude all I'm asking is to think of others. If that was so obvious then I wouldn't have the opportunity to mention it.

Guys please keep the drama out. I don't tolerate drama well.
And frankly, Mr_Black, I probably would. The starving children in Africa are a touchy topic to discuss, and my friendly chat thread is not the place to do it. I'm not trying to be mean at all, I just don't really appreciate this sort of thing in my chat thread. If you want to have a conversation with me about the dying people of Africa, you're welcome to go post in the Critical Thinking forum and I will be happy to give my opinion on all the tragedy going on there. I appreciate that you are trying to get people to think of others and think deeper, as that is an important part of social activity and mental growth, but this thread is pretty obviously directed at silly conversation. ^^; I am very sorry if I seem rude or anything, but this thread really is not meant to be serious at all.

Yeah, I can tell by the length of your replies that you can write more. :) I've recently got in to mene after a long break mainly because I found someone who I struck up a good conversation with in another thread (if you ever want a link incase places are dead or you want to get a hold of me, I can give it to you sometime) and i've suddenly realise how much I miss talking to people online.
Anyway, I'll start by asking the obvious, age, sex and location. I'm female and 17 years old and am from england - how about you?
I always find it interesting where others are from as I am very curious when it comes to culture, customs and history. :)

Talking to people online is definitely an adventure. You can't ever be sure as to who you'll meet or how different people will react under different situations. As long as you know what you're doing, it can be very exciting to get to know someone else from across the world.
^^ I don't really like to reveal my age in particular, because I've noticed that some people seem to get hung up on how old someone is rather than who they are as a person when they talk. I prefer to get to know someone for who they are rather than what terms and facts define them, if that makes any sense. Otherwise I'm female and I live in the United States. I do hope you understand my reasoning behind the age thing though. I just feel that sometimes numbers get in the way. And even if I would feel comfortable telling you in private, I'm not sure I'd want to post it on a public forum where people could go to look at it and then just know and ignore my words. I guess that does sound a little paranoid... ^^; I've just had issues with it in the past, online and off.
I do love finding out where other people are from as well though! I love making friends in other countries and learning all about their various customs and history, etc. It's a very interesting thing to get in to!

Yeah i've met people I would never really talk to before.
You can Pm it to me if you like, i'm not really worried about how old people are I know [people who are 14 and people who at 26 and up, it doesn't bother me because I know I most likely will never meet them. ^^
Where abouts in the US are you? I'm guessing on the east coast because of the time. Most of my American friends are from the east coast. ^^ Time zones irritate me though, I feel like I am being stopped from meeting people who could be perfect for me because of a silly clock. xD
Mhmm, my best friend is slovak, I love pestering her about her culture and language, the language sounds so pretty when it is spoken...or it could just be her voice. But they have a very interest culture and history and fantastic culture that I really want to find out about. :)
For example this is a figure in their history that is completely gruesome! : Elizabeth Báthory - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
I have noticed though that the further east you go the more gruesome things are. xD
If there's anything you wanna know about england, you can ask me :3

So have I. It's kind of taught me to look beyond my preconceptions of people in person as well. It's a nice thing, the internet. I just wish more people utilized it in less obnoxious manner sometimes.
I might just do that. XD I certainly don't mind an individual person knowing, and you don't seem the type to get hung up on age. I tend to judge whether a person will or not before I decide it's alright to tell them. It helps to keep conversation going, I think.
I'm actually in Northwestern US. I'm running on Mountain time, so two hours behind East coast time. I'm a bit of an insomniac, so sometimes I wake up much sooner than normal or don't go to bed and am still awake, etc. I woke up at 3:40 something this morning. I kind of agree about the time zones, but it doesn't get to me as much seeing as my sleeping schedule is almost always more than a little out of whack. One of my best friends lives in Australia, so it's kind of weird to get the time difference right.
My best friend is originally German. c: It's lots of fun having friends from other countries. He tells me all the time about how things used to be back there as compared to how they are here in America. It's pretty interesting.
I remember reading something about that woman once! I'm a huge history buff, so I've done a lot of research on various things like that. The more gruesome bits of history positively fascinate me. It does seem to be that way though, the farther east you go. I'm particularly fascinated with Russia and the Baltics. One of these years I want to go on a tour of Europe. XD
This might be a silly question actually, but what's the government like there? I've heard a lot of different things from various people, but I'm horribly curious about how governmental systems work in different countries. I get a lot of mixed stories about England, so I'm curious. XD

I will admit, I'm a bit awkward talking to older guys, but most of them act as though they are my age so it's fine.
I see to be the only one on here with a normal sleeping pattern, I go to bed at roughly the same time and wake up at the same time, usually around 7am unless i'm ill which I am right now so it tends to be later. But yeah, I always wonder about the people I just miss or who are sleeping when I am awake, like I want to make some more asian friends because I find the asian culture really interesting but they're sleeping when i'm on well at least most of them are, there are some rogue insomniacs like yourself. What state are you from? :)
I'm a history fan too, and i'm gradually filling in the blanks in my knowledge by explore more eastern european stuff. I love the tudors and the medieval era and also I am fascinated by pompeii.
Me and my best friend intend to go on a tour of europe, we want to go to romania and hungary to explore the lengend of lugaru and other werewolf mythologies, we also want to go to pompeii, belson or Auschwitz and many other place. :)
Ack you had to ask about something I'm not so much interested in and am so exasasperated in I am beyond caring. Just asked me some questions you have about the government and i'll answer them, it's much easier for me that way. :)

I think a lot of people who're on sites like this tend to be insomniacs. XD That's my only sleep related problem right now, but I guess some other sleeping disorders run in my family that I may get to look forward to as I get older. I find it very nice to have friends from around the world so that whether I'm up at night or in the day time I have someone to talk to.
^-^ I'm currently residing in Idaho, though.
It sounds as though we have pretty similar interests where history is considered. I recognize and am pretty much fascinated by everything you've listed there, including the various mythologies. Europe's mythological history is extremely interesting. I'd be lying if I said I didn't want to visit Romania and Hungary for pretty much those exact reasons. XD
I'll make this simple I guess. XD I know it's a weird question to ask. Overall though, I guess I want to know what your opinion on how things are run there are? Like, good or bad? Mediocre; needs improvement?

Haha yeah, I can't understand it myself, most people just have bad sleeping routines and with some forced sleeping and just laying there till they drop off it can be rectified, obviously for others its more serious.
I see, you;re the first person I've met from idaho. :)
Oh wow, it's not every day you meet someone like yourself I might have to tell my bestie about you i'm sure she'd have great fun talking to you and you two would have some great debates and discussions. :)
I have to admit the one area of history i'm not a huge fan of is military history, I preffer to find out about people not how they were killed.
Ah I see, yeah things are aweful here, we have a leader who only cares about the rich, he's near tripled uni costs and cut funding for students like myself.

^-^ Idaho's a beautiful place, really. It's especially pretty in the spring and summer, and the mountains are just gorgeous come fall and winter. I haven't met many other people online from here though. It seems like a weird trend.
No, you're right it isn't. It's always exciting to meet someone who shares similar interests! I'd be happy to talk with you and your friend whenever. It's always fun to hear about peoples' perspectives on certain things, especially this.
Aha, we found a place where we differ! I love military history, though I usually do take it deeper than just "this happened then and _____ people died". I like to know about the leaders behind various things and their reasons behind killing people, etc. I find it positively fascinating to dive into the mind of a military figure, or someone like a serial killer. It makes for fascinating discussions, really.
Yeah, that seems to be the majority of what I've heard. It's kind of unfortunate, but I think it's that way for a lot of places right now. I hope things get better...

Ottersaurus: I definitely want to go on a road trip across america, I have a lot of people most of whom I have met here that I want to meet. ^^ I collect tourist t-shirts and me and my forign friends sent each other parcels with things from our countries and I usually ask for a tourist t-shirt, I have two from wisconsin, one from new york, one from slovakia and one from Queensland is austrailia. Not many so far but I have a lot on the way.
Well she asks if you have an email or Msn or something that she can talk to you on as she is not on this site. I'm still learning a lot of the stuff, she is teaching me, in a way I am like her desciple or something. She's really good on angels and biblical myths too, oh and she loves vampires! :)
Well I mean I don't mind learning about battles and military figures as long as the emphasis is on the person but when it gets in to plans and strategies and tanks and technology and stuff I fall asleep, give me the pretty dresses and corsets instead!!!! :D:D:D
I think they should elect an average person who really knows what is going on because it's alright for him, the desicisons he makes doesn't effect him..... grrr!

Oh, yep I sure do. I'll message you my MSN so she can contact me on there. ^-^ It's always fun to talk to new people I think, yup yup~
Haha. Yeah, those sorts of details aren't for everyone. But if we were all interested in the same sorts of things about everything I rather think we'd all live in a horribly boring world. Conflicting interests make for interesting conversation.
>: Yes... It's always hard when the person in control doesn't feel the repercussions of what they do. I've always thought the people should have more say in things that go on within the government. But I guess that could inevitably lead to problems...

my friend said she'd add you soon, she has the word Mina in her name so that's how you should know it's her. :) - EDIT oh wait she said she'll just email you. :) So look out for a new message.
Oooh thats cool, yeah I just thought it would be an interesting thing to collect, they have to be from my friends though, I won't just like buy them online or something. I also collect coins and of course books xD
Yeah I like a variation in opinion, that's why I never really listen to the words of critics, unless they are practically begging me not to see or read something or to see or read something, because then I think, if they have had that strong of a reaction it must be good/bad, but it's rare you find something like that so mostly I just do as I please. :D
Yeah thats why I think that any politician must have worked a standard job for at least 10 years before they get any sort of post because then they have lived and know the struggle everyday people have faced.
Dammit, just vote me in for primeminister. :D

Well yeah it'd be silly if you just bought them online. XD It's always better from a friend anyway! Coins are a lot of fun too. I used to collect them, but then I realized I'd rather have money than random crap laying around.
Oh critics can be so full of themselves sometimes. I've gone to see movies before that just got awful ratings and come out wondering if the people who rated it were high when they watched. On the flipside I've read books that received outstanding ratings from tough critics only to find that they're full of grammatical mistakes and are very poorly written. It's kind of hard for critics to accurately judge anything, because everyone's going to think about it differently. They're mostly there to help sell things I think.
Haha. I think that way about things here too. Sometimes our government forgets what they went through before they got all the money I think... It's a little sad, but there isn't much anyone can do about it. Just hope for someone better to come along.
