It could be that a vampire hears about a human who helps out alot in the hospital, so much that they even can cure some humans. This makes the human more appealing towards the vampire and now he wants to take this human to be his. What he doesn't know is, this human is a boy/guy, and now he has to decide if he still truly wants him or just to take him for himself for selfish reasons. Except this guy has someone already and doesn't believe in death or vampires for that matter. The only thing he believes in is his powers which would repell vampires and other races harmful in taking the light he has to heal.

(And maybe for the above one, the vampire could've lost someone close to him that made him go hunting out for a new lover)
