They layed off the old man dancing on the commercials for Six Flags Great America because they thought it was racist to the elderly. Do you agree? I personally don't because he's having fun and showing it. I don't get how it's racist.

That's because it's not. Old people aren't a race of their own. It's general discrimination.

I have to second Vix, old people aren't an ethnicity, so you can't be racist towards them. :sweat:

But I miss the old man dancing! I thought it was a good way to show that the elderly aren't boring people that sit around doing nothing. :/

The elderly are not even a race, so certainly he was not raciest. This(his removal) is just age discrimination. They probably really believe that an old man representing a theme park is not very attractive.
There was nothing wrong with him, he's quite amusing and what he represents is that Six Flags is for all ages. In fact my senior year of high school my English teacher actually came as him on Halloween lololol.

I love Mr. Six! I grew up with those commercials. I vividly remember my friends and I all trying to impersonate him during a slumber party in sixth grade.

Wow, I certainly never knew this. His being laid off is even more fucked up if he's young.

um fyi to you guys mr six the old guy as you put it is actually very young its make up and such that make him look the way he does some even say theres different mr sixes that take turns some are girls lol.

As for the "six" guy... they probably just wanted an excuse to lay him off >.< the economy is shot right now so companies are really picky...

If he really is young than I have to wonder if this story of his being let go actually has any truth to it.
