I am not sure whether this is strictly true. A great deal of colonial discourse was (is) based on the notion that the 'primitive savage' needs the empire to step in and save them from their religious (superstitious) backwardness.

@Sarofset Don't you think it's understandable that a religion that's had the most influence on a person and a persons culture and society gets the most criticised?
On a personal level I don't feel comfortable or have much reason to say, criticise Judaism, since it hasn't influenced my culture that significantly and it's not a big religion in my country. Whilst Christianity is the dominant religion here and it have influence on my society.
Just saying.

*late entrance in to topic, but addresses something else that is deemed similair to the first post. *

One thing that sounds like the whole agnostic & atheist and how people say they're the same... People believing that atheists are devil worshipers. My one teacher pissed me off so much when he said that my friend (who is an atheist) was a devil lover due to her being as such. Just because you have the disbelief of God doesn't automatically make you the "satanist"... >_>

Aside from that, (random topic that I wanted to bring up)

Too ease those who believe all Christians point their fingers and say that God will bring down his vengeful wrath upon you... I believe in individualism. I want people to convert to Christianity, (more specifically not Catholicism or Judaism) but it is one persons own choice whether he or she wants to believe that they may or may not go to a heaven or hell (or if they believe they'll just be the next course of a worms meal and that's it) and that there is a God. No one should have a flame war about who's wrong or right. Nor should someone look down upon those who are of different opinion. A quote from one of my friends: "Hate the sins, not the sinner." :3
