Mallon looked at her oddly for a moment, then he smiled and nodded. "Sure, why not." He would do anything for that look she'd given him. Besides, he needed to make a delivery in the morning that was nearby. It'd save time to just walk there.

Jemini felt the warmth, it warmed her up enough to scream. Afterwards she slumped in his arms and shook. She cried into his chest. "It...hurts so much..." Not only the glass that was in her knees, but the damage the pain she'd just gone through had done. The glass she was kneeling in was from the shattered plate and glass that she was bringing to him.

A tension, previously unknown, faded. Meredith smiled brightly, feeling a little more relaxed in Mallon's presence. It was easy with the elf around to forget why exactly they'd met. "Thanks! I was worried about being alone if my ... Well they aren't really friends, but I was worried of being alone if they showed up." Nodding to herself, Meredith went to get some blankets and pillows. Busily moving around, the young woman unfolded the futon in her living room. The mattress was soft and comfortable. Returning to her guest, the brunette waved to the living room and the makeshift bed. "It's not the best, but it's comfy."

Calmly, Hayden let events unfold. Only when the fairy knew that the young woman had returned to herself did he smile. Carefully, he plucked pieces of glass from her knee, then placed his hand there. A warm glow emanated from his hand while the cuts closed themselves. "Well that pain is gone at least. Now tell me Jemini, is this the first time this has happened? If it is, then I know exactly why. If it isn't, then I swear I'll help you find the solution to this problem." A dangerous gleam entered Hayden's eyes at the thought of anyone, or anything endangering his new friend. The prince had never thought to grow so fond of a human, and yet there he was, offering to put everything on the line for her.

To comfort the both of them, Hayden ran a gentle hand trough her hair. A soft melody emanated from the fairy, coming from his lips and filling the room.

Mallon followed her for a moment. Then smiled and nodded. "I'll gladly take the mat. Use to sleeping on the ground." He smiled and plopped down on the offered futon mattress.

Jemini let him help her, not like she could fight him off anyway. She could barely move. The best she could do was to curl up against him and shake her head. "First time..." She'd had heart pains before, but that was when she was unhealthy. She was eating well now, so she was alright in the health department. She slowly looked up at him when she felt no more pain in her knees and heard the melody he was making.

She stared at the strange sight for a moment, then let a smile tug up her pale lips. Humming a song to herself, the young woman moved swiftly from the living room to grab a pile of books. Placing them carefully beside her guest, she explained her actions. "I'm sure you like reading before you sleep, so here you are. These should suffice." With a final smile the brunette stood and yawned. Tiredness seemed to settle in every muscle, and in the depths of her mind.

Still humming he let himself think while his hold upon Jemini tightened. The only thing different, was the absence of the flame. Perhaps it would be alright to return it to it's owner. Her health was more important then a silly promise, a silly need to have control over her as she did him. Grey eyes pulled down by the thought, the young fairy smiled. "Hopefully things will return to normal after this," stated the blond. So saying he removed the flame from it's earring and placed it upon his friend's heart. It seemed to melt away, being taken back into the soul it belonged to. Hayden looked to his friend with a questioning expression, which made his blond hair fall into his face in an annoying way.

Mallon laughed when she came back with the books. Yes, he liked to read, but that wasn't his purpose in life. He just nodded as she yawned. "You should sleep. Its been a long day for you." It had been. For both of them actually. He'd used more of his power than he had in one day then he had in three months.

Jemini didn't really respond until after she no longer felt the pain. She looked at him with shocked and very confused eyes. "But...why?" She didn't know why he would give her 'flame' back. She hadn't really wanted it back....fightened that he would leave if he did.

Meredith regarded the elf with a tiredly incredulous stare. There was an elf in her apartment, and he expected her to sleep? "I... It's just really hard to believe that everything won't just, have not happened when I wake up tomorrow. That it'll all have turned out to be a dream." The young woman wanted to have a chance to get to know her new friend better. The thought brought a smile to her face as she reached out to run her fingers over his ears without thinking. Meredith had sat down in a movement so automatic she'd not realized she'd done it. "You are real right?"

The fairy pulled himself up with her in his arms and felt his way to her room. Placing Jemini down, he pointed to the bed with a small jerk of his chin. "Because you've fast become a friend, and a trustworthy one. " Silently he wished to go home, suddenly weary. Deep inside, Hayden knew that this urge to stay with Jemini was much more then friendship... Something which would cause the two of them no end of trouble. "Maybe we shoudl both get some rest." As it was, they were both going ot be plagued by fatigue unless they slept. It was night, dark and full of promises. Dreams fulfilled and some not even acknowledged raced trough the air with ease.

Mallon blinked, surprised at her words and especially at her movement to touch his ears once again. "Well. I promise that it won't vanish. I'll be right here."

Jemini watched him silently, but she was worried. She'd felt like she'd cheated him out of something. She gently reached up and took his hand. Worry was deep in her eyes. "I love you are my friend. For some reason...I can't imagine life without you around. And...I've only known you for a couple of hours." A small blush rose to her cheeks.

Meredith nodded and stood once more with a large yawn. Stretchign herself out as she walked away from the elf, the young woman turned back to look at him over her shoulder. "Goodnight Mallon, sleep well. If you need anything at all, don't hesitate to come wake me." Withj that said she went to change into comfortable fleece pajamas. It's wasn't long after that before she snuggled into her bed with a small smile upon her face.

Seeing her blush made Hayden all too aware of where they were. Waving her words away in an unintentionaly brusque way, the elf moved to the doorway. "Sleep, we can talk about this tomorrow when we aren't falling asleep on our feet." With a laugh, the changeable fairy turned to blow a coy kiss in the young woman's direction. Moving to his designated sleeping are, Hayden settled down comfortable and fell into sleep with ease.

Mallon chuckled softly after she left the room. He shook his head and glanced in the direction of the books she'd placed beside him. It wouldn't hurt to look, would it? He took the top book off the heap with ease and flipped it to the first page and started to read. He'd fallen asleep late into the night, open book all around him, hair tossled and laying upon the air mattress as if he'd fainted.

Jemini just watched him as he left. Was he not upset at her? Maybe she hadn't done anything wrong....or she was just fooling herself and he was trying not to make her feel bad. She laid there wondering about it for hours, until she passed out from exhaustion. When she woke, she murmured to herself as she blinked and looked around.

With a yawn the young woman slipped from her bed. Still dresssed in her pajamas, the brunette went to prepare pancakes with practiced ease. It didn't take very long before delicious smells filled the room. This was the easiest meal, and one of the most delicious.

After placing everything on the table and changing, MEredith went to find Mallon. Seeing him surrounded by books brought a smile to her face. Moving past the books with ease, she couldn't resist caressing his ears once more. This elf was unlike anyone she'd ever met before.

The fairy slept a little while longer before falling off the bed with a silent yell. He wasn't used to the way this particular bed was made. The blond rubbed his head while regarding the house. For a few moments Hayden's memories were hazed by the fog of sleep, then they returned in a rush. Grey eyes wide with worry he stood to try and find Jemini.

Mallon wasn't in too deep a sleep. He heard her soft footfalls as she moved about the house. He didn't react until she came near and touched his ears again. He couldn't help but grin slightly. "Do you like them that much?" He asked curiously without opening his eyes.

Jemini heard a thump, as if something biggish fell to the floor. She instantly grabbed a big pole she had in the corner, it was more like a thick walking stick. She'd gotten it from a friend of hers, it was more decoration than anything else. She inched out the door and looked around. She nearly swung at Hayden when she saw him, then she gasped and dropped the stick. She looked at him, swolling the lump in her throat. "I-I'm sorry." She said quickly, still rigid with shock.

Meredith let her hand stay as it was, though she didn't move it anymore. A blush crept up her cheeks as she regarded the elf. It was a good thing he kept his eyes closed. If he hadn't, the young woman would have run off while destroying many of her own precious books. "No! Yes... Well I'm fascinated. When people tell you that elves are evil creatures that sacrifice people for magic and power... Meeting a nice one, a real one..." Sighing she sat back upon her heels while closing her dark eyes for a moment. "Alright, I do like them that much.'

Chuckling, the fairy stood from the defensive crouch he'd adopted. "Glad to see that you're doing well. I did send my message last night. Hopefully it reaches my friend soon. It was sent by means of a butterfly, so it might take a while. In the meantime... You owe me a tour of the city." Hayden was so used to being in charge, to commanding others, that he didn't once think that Jemini might have other plans.

Mallon's smile slowly left his face. He opened one eye a crack to peer up at her. "Sacrificing people...? Where'd you hear that from?" His voice held no humor. There was a stoney sound to it, like he was gaurding something.

Jemini was snapped out of her shock, by what sounded like a command coming from Hayden's mouth. Her eyebrows raised slightly as she regarded him. Her arms slowly crossed under her chest. "Does his majesty mind if I take a shower first?" She used a slightly cinical tone, just in case the sarcasm wasn't enough to get his attention.

"Rumors," murmured Meredith as she hesitated between retracting her hand and smoothing the frown from Mallon's face. "People disappear you know, and when the cases can't be solved the fair folk get blamed, elves more often then not." Pushing a tendril of stray hair from the elf's face, the young woman shook her head then stood.

In a few moments she returned with breakfast, though her earlier happy attitude had disappeared. The two plates were stacked with blueberry pancakes, bacon, croissants and fruits. Meredith had no idea how hungry Mallon was, but her stomach grumbled insistently for food. Displacing a few books to place the plates between them, Meredith regarded the elf quizzically. "Mallon, I would never imagine you'd do something like that. They're just stories and rumors with no proven basis in facts."

There was something very odd about being talked back to in such a manner. Strange really, and very annoying.... The fairy wasn't sure how to react. There was one thing he did know for sure. "Forgive me. I'm so used to speaking with people who... Are there to obey my every command that I forgot where I was, and with whom I speak." Tilting his head to the side, the blonde regarded Jemini quietly.

Mallon hadn't meant to scare her off. It was just that the information angered him. It wasn't shocking though...humans tended to blame everything but themselves. He watched her walk away and sighed. He thought deeply on the matter, trying to think of any way to end those types of rumors. Just because humans were sneaky enough to hide murder or kidnapping from other humans, doesn't mean that they could blame elves and the fey for it. He looked up slowly when she came back in and smiled a little. He nodded slightly at her reassurence. "Thank you."

Jemini looked at him the same why she was until he was finished speaking. "Well, if you want me to be civil, you need to be too. No ordering me about and no condesending tones. Or, I'll have to make you leave. I didn't put up with it from my ex and I won't put up with it from you." She nodded curtly, as if saying she'd said what she needed to, then turned on her heel and went for the shower. She stopped at the door and spoke to him without making eye contact. "This is the human world Hayden. You'll have to learn how to get along with people if you want to survive." She then walked inside and turned on the water.

The young woman picked up a baby blue plate and began eating thoughtfully. Her eyes traveled over the elf quietly, as if she was trying to figure out an enigma which didn't seem to make any sense at all."It's nothing, not after how you saved me yesterday." Then a small thumping sound brought her eyes to the window. A little white butterfly insistently flew into the glass in some kind of desperate attempt to enter the house. "That butterfly is acting really strangely..." stated Meredith with a frown.

Hayden regarded her retreating back with a frown. This was an all too familiar tirade, though usually it came from his friends. High and mighty Hayden, soon to be ruler! The thought galled him, the way others probably saw him. As humans said, the fairy had been sitting upon a high horse for quite some time now. Letting a breath escape him, the fairy wandered about impatiently.

Hayden didn't want to get Jemini into any more trouble then he already had. The blond man also had no idea how much longer he could stay in her vicinity without blurting out what thoughts had been plaguing him.

Mallon chuckled softly, but was caught off gaurd by the butterfly. "That is strange indeed..." He murmured to himself. He stood slowly and walked to the window, opening it. Then waited for whatever the butterfly would do. Then he realized what the butterfly was. He smiled and shook his head. "Don't worry, its not a normal butterfly." He waited for the message to be relaid to him.

Jemini took about a ten minute shower. Enough time for her to think about what she'd said and his reaction. She had something else to tell him and she didn't think it could wait. Once she got out of the shower, she wrapped a towel snuggly around herself and exited the bathroom after brushing her teeth. "Hayden?" She questioned the hallway, as if he'd pop out from around the corner.

The butterfly fluttered forth and disintegrated as it touched the elf's face. Small little snowflakes fell to the floor, quietly floating as a voice previously unknown to Meredith resounded softly trough the room. "Mallon, I am in dire need of your help to find me someplace to stay whilst searching for my true love. You'll know where to find me, where the Hawthorn grows." Meredith watched quietly, with no idea what reaction might result.

There was something very strange about all of this.

After wandering into the kitchen and glancing askance at the various things in there, the fairy prince heard his name being called. Turning towards the voice he walked into the enclosed space with a sigh. This human way of living was not at all suited to one used to wide open spaces and the wilds. "I am here, now what is it you wished to speak of?" He was hiding a little under the words, worried that she would somehow see past the wall he put up.

Mallon chuckled softly at the message. "Its about time he got here. Been too long since I've seen that scoundrel." He looked at Meredith and smiled. "Well, you heard the message. Would you like to come meet him?"

Jemini blinked, then looked slightly embarrased. "I thought you'd left." She looked at him with sudden seriousness. "I am sorry if I offended you in any way, but I don't take back what I said." She wanted to get clothes on all of a sudden, feeling as if the towel did not cover enough.

The young woman smiled hesitantly and nodded. "Sure, why not? It's not like things could get any stranger." Standing, the young woman went to see what had become of the butterfly. Small melting pieces of snow were all that remained of the magically created creature. It was sad in a way, and made a melancholic expression flit across the girl's blue eyes.

A small smile made the fairy's lips quirk up. Amused, Hayden regarded the young woman seriously. It was difficult not to let his eyes wander, but he managed. "No need, you were right. I'll leave you to get dressed." Inclining his head, the young fairy went to sit down on the couch in the living room. Leaning back he sighed, though glad that the message had been received. Earlier that day, when Jemini had taken her shower, Hayden had made a hawthorn plant grow in front of the house.

Mallon would know where he was.

Mallon smiled reasurringly at Meredith. "Its quite alright. He will not harm you in any way. He's not such a terrible guy, even if he is a little narssisistic." He chuckled softly and held out a hand to her. "We'll go right now if you wish."

Jemini blinked slightly, then nodding curtly she hurried in to her room. After closing the door behind her softly, she rushed to find something to wear. After a few minutes she settled on a burnt orange tartan skirt that went just above her knees. This was accompanied by a black tank top and black thigh-high buckled boots. She slipped on black fingerless leather gloves that buckled at her wrists along with a few bracelets and a watch. She smiled as she hooked in one long feather earring that went as far down as her chest and had both black and orange feathers in it. She never wore makeup, so she just slipped on a couple necklaces to finish her look and slipped her wallet into her small pocket in her skirt. She came out and smiled. "Hayden? Are you ready to go?"

Meredith stretched her hand out and placed it carefully into the elf's. It was still quite strange, this whole business. "Alright then, might as well." Tilting her head to the side, she smiled and tried to blow hair out of her face at the same time. It was quite a comical sight really.

The fairy regarded his friend with a smirk. A truly wonderful creature, she would have fit right into the courts. "Of course, but there is an old friend who shall be coming by. I do need to make arrangements to stay with someone else or your father might get to thinking I've enchanted you. Though really there's no need for spells in my case." Checkling, the blond bowed gallantly and held out an arm. Hayden certainly liked his theatrics.

Mallon smiled. "Don't worry. I'll be with you the entire time." He gently pulled her close to him and they vanished in a woosh of air. In the next few seconds, they appeared in front of Jemini's home. He slowly released Meredith, but kept her hand until she had her balance. He glanced around and chuckled. "What a quaint little home." It wasn't all that little, he was just used to bigger homes.

Jemini looked at him oddly for a moment, then took the offered arm. "So, how soon do you think?" She stiffened slightly and gripped his arm. "Someone's here." It was like she could feel someone she'd never met near her home. Thats why she never had any burglars. She'd always have the cops there before they got in the house.

At feeling herself pulled close, the young woman found a warm feeling seeping inside. Though of course, she pushed it away. This was not the time or place for such emotions to run rampant. As they appeared before the house Meredith looked at the place and blinked. "It's not all that small..." Shrugging the brunette walked up the steps and waited for the elf to join her.

Smiling, the fairy walked to the front door and peered outside. "Right not actually. It's your home, so you'll have to do the inviting. It's really is a delightful place." Nice and cozy, not at all like at the courts where everything was all a hustle and bustle. It was a wonderful place, and not just because of the placement.

Mason watched her walk off, then chuckled slightly. "Maybe its just me." He stood next to her and looked at the door. "Well, guess we'll wait 'til they decide what to do." Mason leaned against the railing without even knocking.

Jemini visibly relaxed, since he said his friend of sorts was here. He wouldn't let her go into something dangerous on purpose....would he? She nodded slightly and opened the door a peak. She saw the girl and the tall man and blinked. "I assume you're not here to see me." She stepped aside and pulled the door open, revieling Hayden.
