I thought of something better to replace my other post on languages. ( But I'm a noob and dunno how to delete it... x| Oh well, this one is slightly different. ) Rather than posting about our love for languages, why not do a language exchange? :3 I joined a language exchange site once, and it was amazing. I can speak Japanese well, only problem is my vocabulary kinda sucks. But, anyway, the idea of this is to exchange knowledge for knowledge, socialize, make friends, etcetera. =) I was thrilled to see so many people with love for similar things! It just.. warms me up inside! T.T

Ahem, sorry. Well, I wanna learn German, Russian or any other language! Say someone else wants to learn Japanese and they can speak another language and are willing to teach me what they know! ( Don't be ashamed if you want to learn another language but only speak English! Everyone starts somewhere! ) I would love to share my knowledge with others, if anyone is interested. If you don't wanna learn Japanese, but you have something else in mind, feel free to post. See? This can be fun! ^___^ And remember, if you don't speak any other languages, you're still welcome to post. =) I'll gladly teach you! And if not me, someone else will, I'm sure!

This is an awesome idea! I know words here and there of a few languages, but I'd really love to improve my German and my Korean.

Thanks, doll! ^.^ I would love to learn German. It's a beautiful language. And threats sound scarier in German to American ears, too. xD

I adore the German language myself, too. My dad knows a few random words that he strings together and yells sometimes in random places with an angry German accent... just to freak people out... and it works. xD My sisters and I think it's a riot when he does it... :yes: And I'm taking Korean in college this coming semester. :D I'm excited. I have a Korean friend I haven't heard from in a long time... I'd love to be able to contact her again and write to her in Korean. ^w^ And I have a friend from Germany (who now lives in the states) and I love it when he speaks German... But he doesn't want to help me learn. 3:<

I use to learn German, I had a Gaia friend who was teaching me. I said something offensive towards his girlfriend, not directly, he took it the wrong way. So we're not friends and he's not teaching me German, obviously. Out of all the words he taught me, I only remember Ich. >>; I really want to improve my Korean. I do know a little but I would love to be fluent. I am an Asian-American citizen and I probably should know my own language but I don't. I understand what my parents are saying but I cannot speak it, I just know what they are saying. Is that weird? Dx They speak Khmer.

Khmer? I wish someone would offer to teach me a language.

And Ich means I, doesn't it? I'm pretty sure Danke means thank you, and Ich Liebe Dich means I love you. Or something like that. I'm uncertain of my spelling to be honest.

I know some random japanese stuff so I can somewhat fare well with listening to like... anime... but otherwise I fail ^^"
I DO speak pretty good russian, though, since my family is from russia... I can't write or read it though because my parents were against teaching me those kinds of things.... *couldn't speak good english until end of elementary school* <.<";;

I can speak English & Tamil fluently. But otherwise, I can also speak Japanese but my mom always says I'm 'hetakuso' I only know to read hiragana and katakana XD >_< My mom is a Japanese. I can also speak a little and read Sinhala, they teach that in our school. And Arabic I can read and write, but not good enough to speak o.0 I know some random words here and there, that's all ;D

I have always loved to learn French and Spanish for no reason, and I would love if I can learn Hindi - because there are amazing good films in hindi but I don't watch them as I don't understand. And now that you guys are saying you guys wanna learn German - I want to too! xD

Music helps teach, as long as you cross-reference. ( And that doesn't mean looking up the lyrics and looking at every page--most are copied and pasted by people who don't speak the language. =P Haha. ) Do your own research via burrowed books from your local library. =) That's how I started. I speak Japanese to my online Japanese friends, and they help me if I mess up, too. x) But by now, most of the time, I can just guess at how to phrase something, and it's correct. After so long, I should be better than I am! Oh, and Japanesepod101.com is helpful too. You can also subscribe to their YouTube account. They help with things that are harder to find, like onomatopoeias and such. :3 As for other languages, you can always search YouTube ( or any other video site ) for help. You can just type in the name of the language and pick through the results. Anime may help with Japanese at first, but my Japanese friends all warn against its usage. ( Disappointed me. =( ) Because in anime, they so often use familiar terms while speaking with strangers ( not to mention their subtle insults ), it isn't exactly the BEST route to go. Buuut, then again, it's the same with music. ( The Japanese rarely say "I love you," despite what J-pop leads you to believe! T.T ) I think you all will easily learn your desired language if you just keep at it. Someone will help you out! And remember, I would always love to learn to speak another language or just teach you some Japanese. :3 Let's keep this thread alive. x) We can attract more people that way! You all rock. =D Have a nice niiight! <3

Ich does mean I and I might want to learn Dutch. Norway also sounds good too. ^^ Khmer is the language for Cambodia. >>; I cannot help you there since I only know what my parents are saying, never knew how to read or write it. ^^; I actually have tried doing some online search and etc about Hangul (Korea). I know some phrases such as "Hello, my name is ___." and I know how to say some phrases here and there. I do know about four or five letters on their alphabets. Such as the M, A, S, and H. ><; But it's quite hard when you don't know how to say it, knowing if it's right or wrong, I'm not sure. When I watch variety shows, I do understand half of the things they are saying. ^^
