There might be a bottle of tequila over here. I might take the occasional little nip in my cherry limeade. I'm hardcore like that! Because yeah, pretty much don't drink otherwise.

We don't drink much either. Maybe once in a while we'll get some Smirnoff but that's about it.

I used to just not drink at all. But then I received the bottle of tequila, so I drink it. Also, I have some alcohol downstairs that I use to make my Carbomb cake (Guinness chocolate cake, Irish Whiskey chocolate ganache, and Bailey's Irish Cream frosting). Every now and then I'll put the Bailey's in some chocolate milk or something. The rest of it is just strictly cake making material because beer is gross. x_x

Ahh, we tend to drink in my family. Not all the time, but on special occasions, yes. I drank a lot when I was in College though. But not very often now.
Still enjoy cooking with Alcohol, however :D

Oh what kinda stuff ya cook with alcohol?
Is that in the sense of taking a shot after each ingredient is added?
"First bring the pot to boil."
"Second, take a shot."

Blagh, beer is nasty! x ___x I don't think I will ever grow to like its taste. Although some brands seem to taste a little better than the others so maybe I just haven't found the right brand yet or something.

Well, yes and no Rad. Depends on what I am making. The only time I got drunk while cooking was when I was with Lixlaria and we were trying to cut and peel potatoes. Don't down a bottle of wine and then try to use a knife, it's never a good idea xD
But cooking with alcohol I make things like Beer chicken, Turkey cooked in white wine with butter, beer batter when I had a deep fryer, etc etc. I have made different liquor desserts, but not in any recent memory. That was a while ago.
And beer can be good, but you really need to have a taste for it. Personally I like Keiths, Harp, PBR and Guiness, none of which my boyfriend really drinks. He likes Heineken and I find it tastes like grass xD So it's all about preference.

There's beef bourguignon made with wine. I made some really great kielbasa in a beer sauce. That was actually good, and I don't like beer. Alcohol can be good for cooking, but I really don't just sit down and drink it straight. I don't like the burning sensation. :P

I have a hard time drinking alcoholic drinks for the same reason. There has to be some kind of masking flavor at the very least but I really do like cooking with it.
Cooking beef in beer for a while can really make it tender and the stews you can make from that are simply amazing. I like to use sherry when working with chicken that will have italian herbs and, like Cookie said, kielbasa is really great after it's been cooked in a beer sauce.

I was really surprised by the beer sauce. I didn't think I'd like it, but it was amazing with the kielbasa over some mashed potatoes. Om nom nom.

That must have been magical. :o
I've wanted to try beer-bread, I've heard it was really good, but don't believe the alcohol cooks out of the bread completely, so I'm a little hesitant. Have you tried that? Do you have any experiments you want to try?

MYTHOS!!! *jumps* It has been forever!
Beer bread sounds like it might actually taste good. I will have to find a recipe and let you know.
A week ago I made a Beef and Guinness stew. It was actually really good.

I haven't made beer bread. I do make a cake with Guiness. I couldn't say how much of the alcohol bakes out, but I don't really care, it makes a really mean moist cake. I think the Guiness adds a certain kind of sparkle to the tongue when you eat it. I could just be imagining things though. ^_^;
Also, here's the Kielbasa recipe if you wanted to give it a try: Kielbasa in Polish Sauce

I would love a full Guinness cake. I have had Guinness cupcakes with Bailey's icing before. Oh my gosh, to die for.
And I might have to give that recipe a try. I am always looking for new things to cook for dinner (:

7 weeks just now? Goodness she has so much hair! My sister found out the hard way that her baby doesn't like her hair brushed because she didn't try brushing the little girl's hair when there wasn't much... she just didn't have exposure to the sensation. It's kind of funny watching them fight over the girl's hair when she's just over a year old (I'd never tell me sister that, of course!)
It has been a long time! I got crazy busy for a while and just had to put everything down.
I'm in England for graduate school, now... still crazy busy, but there's at least enough time for Mene again. :3

Mm, I'll definitely bookmark that. So much want!

I brush her hair every once and a while, but not as often as I should to get her used to it. I might have to brush it when she wakes up (I am hoping not too soon, she has been up pretty much since 3:00am. little bugger ♥).
And England for school? That's crazy! How are you enjoying it? And what are you studying now?

I'm really loving it. I'm studying Anglo-Saxon archaeology so like... post-Roman to pre-Viking Britain. The area the campus is in is really quite rich for history and locations from that period as well, so I'm set up well.
....and I found out the day I arrived here that some of Harry Potter was filmed just up the hill from where I'm living. I squeed... xD
