Cookie and fashion are not things that get along. I wear t-shirts and jeans and sometimes nice shirts with jeans and that's about it.

I kind of expected the syrup to mix in, but no. Lesson learned. Syrups are not for me!

When I was little, my dad bar tended at a local bar. Well, here in Rhode Island, when lots of people immigrated to work in the mills, the various ethnicity would set up little social clubs. They brought people together did all sorts of things. My great grandparents came over from Poland, so we are members of the Polish National Alliance, or PNA. The PNA's club is a little bar with a meeting hall over it for functions and stuff. But my dad tended the bar there sometimes and we'd go visit him and he'd serve us Shirley Temples. They used to have a giant jar of cherries to use. Later on, they'd just shoot grenadine in a cup and man, that is just not the same. Bleh. Sometimes I still make them at home if I have a jar of cherries lying around. But as I've gotten older, I've realized how yucky maraschino cherries are and don't even buy them anymore

I can dress up - if I need to - doesn't mean I like it.
Give me a t-shirt (well rather long sleeved shirt, as I burn too easily to wear many t-shirts), jeans, and flip flops, or my boots, any day! Comfort is for me. And to me most of the fashions that people try to make me try to fit into... most definitely not for me... and don't look comfortable at all. Soooo yeah, nope!

I've learned to stir in the syrups, but they're usually too sweet for me.

I love maraschino cherries, but I rarely have them - I'll have them when I go to froyo places, occasionally - not often. I didn't ever really have a ton of them though, so they're still seen as a special treat to me.

I like dressing up, but I only do it on special occassions. I mean, I guess I could dress up whenever I want, but I feel weird doing it? *shrugs* Society has messed me up somehow

I'll just avoid from now on. It was an experiment. Lesson learned.

When I get froyo, I only put mochi on top. Loads of lovely chewy little mochi balls and that's it. It's delicious. Mochi froyo. Om nom nom.

I dress up, but I never wear makeup. Like ever. I hate that society has expectations of what people need to look like, which just makes me not feel comfortable at all... in any real dressy clothes. :/

At least you know what to avoid now! :D

I usually go with whatever looks good at the time - I don't get froyo often. xD LOL

I'll put on some irridescent eye shadow now and then....because it's easy to put on and I like sparkles. I can't put on other types of makeup for shit, so I don't. Though I am addicted to chapstick. :D

Yes indeedy. I always think I should be brave around those fancy space age soda machines. Now I know I should just stick with what I like. XD

I don't get it all that often either. Actually, having this conversation makes me realize that I probably missed all the holiday seasonal flavors like eggnog at the local place. Damn! Oh well. I don't go for the fruity flavors, I like things like cheesecake or pumpkin pie and stuff.

Oh, like I don't wear it meaning I'm allergic to most make up - my face breaks out... it isn't worth it. I have chapstick I have in my purse. But I hardly ever wear it.

Always good to know what you like! I tend to avoid sodas myself, they usually give me headaches. :( So yeah, safer for me to just stay clear of them.

I so want to make cheesecake before I leave for school again as I don't have the necessary things down at school in order to make it down there. :(

Agreed, not worth making your face break out!

Definitely avoid headache triggers. Chinese food used to give me terrible migraines as a kid, but I think a lot of places have moved away from heavy use of MSG, so I rarely get them specifically from that anymore. Which is good, because I love Chinese food!

Aww. I want cheesecake. Go on, get in the kitchen and make us some ;)

I think I look ok, with no makeup - me from a few months ago, in between classes on my long break sitting outside. :]

Lately the list of things that gives me headaches, or just makes me feel yucky, has been getting longer and longer. My body just loves to throw fits lately over things I used to be able to handle. :( *sigh* Oh well. At least I know what to avoid, even if things are yummy tasting, and love to taunt me.
That's good, yay for not getting as many headaches!
I love Chinese food, I just don't have it very often - although that does make it special when I do have it. ^_^

Haha! I need to convince mom to buy me the ingredients to make it! Maybe if we do end up going out tomorrow, I can convince her to stop by the store to get things for it! :D
I'll make it all rainbow and pretty! :D Making it rainbow is super easy to do too! :D (I have pics around here somewhere of the last few rainbow cheesecakes that I've made - I've made two - but I'm too tired to go and try to find the pics.)

I think everyone looks fine without makeup. So many people do crazy things with makeup. I just don't have time to do all that and then look fake. We all look nice and normal. :)

That sucks. C'mon body, stop giving Cloud grief!

Sounds delicious. Eating rainbow is always fun!

I have this one friend who keeps trying to make me wear make up... I look at her and tell her "you accepted me for who I was when we became friends... do not change who I am." It just bothers me that I've had to tell her that more than once. She's even tried to tell me what I can and can't wear, and also has gotten on my case about my weight. *sigh* All of which I've told her she needs to stop or else I am walking away from our friendship.
Just being whoever you wanna be is always awesome! And if that means, not wearing make up, so be it! :D

Yeah, it makes me sad. Things like Orange Juice... I miss OJ. D: :( And normally I can't have anything with caffeine but I was ok, up until recently with Chai. So it looks like I need to cut that out too... *sighs* Darn, oh well. At least I know if I cut it out of what I have - I'll save money and not feel all iffy, and headachy.

Eating rainbow is always awesome! :D It's just vanilla cheesecake, that I separate into six different bowls and dye them pretty colors. :D

That sounds annoying. You're right, if she became friends with you in the first place, why try to change you? She's not your mom, she doesn't get to dictate that kind of stuff. Neither does your mom really. I mean, maybe just tell her that you appreciate her concern, if it's concern that drives it, but knock it off. Hopefully it's concern that drives it and not some other weird and twisted thing.

No oj and no chai. Ouch. I like chai, but it's not something in my regular drink rotation. I just drink it occasionally. I like tea, but I rarely make tea.

That reminds me that I have a bag of skittles around here I need to eat They're some berry flavored ones and they're good. But I eat about ten of them and they're too sweet for me to continue O_o

It is annoying! Sure I get that she's recently lost weight and feels good, but to basically try to shove all her old clothes on me - even though we have TWO totally different styles... that she has to constantly make references to how much weight she's lost - I can only be so happy for her, for awhile. I mean I am happy for her, but she needs to stop forcing me to try to change! I've basically done that, which didn't work. And I full on called her out on it. She's not really done it since, but we'll see if it comes back up.
I think that it's partly because she's taken a ton of health classes, so she thinks that just because she is able to lose weight super easy and fast... that's how it is for her... Same with eating healthy - I eat as healthy as I can, but sometimes at school I just can't eat like she says I should... she should be happy that I am eating as much as I do. I occasionally forget to eat meals - by accident, not on purpose.

Yeah! Both of those are in the last... mmm, like 6 months or so. I just make herbal teas at home. Much cheaper than going out for drinks at least.

Haha, oh, nice! That makes it something that lasts awhile! :D A treat that lasts! :D

That's so annoying when someone does something and gets all holier than thou. Yeah, great, you know stuff. Woo XD

Yeah, I don't go out and buy any fancy coffee drinks or anything like that. I don't like coffee. I save lots of money not drinking coffee or alcohol or smoking or doing weird drugs. Then I spend all that money, well, food. Groceries or eating out now and then.

Yeah, but the problem is, I'll probably still have the same bag of skittles hanging out in my room next year and I'll just toss them. I get annoyed when they sit here too long and I have to be in the mood to eat them.

Now you're a rainbow! *tastes you* Mmm. fruity.

Yeah, totally. Makes me just want to walk the other way and ignore them.

I don't drink coffee (even decaffeinated has enough caffeine to give me headaches), I don't do drugs, or drink (once again drinking is another thing on that list of things that my body hates), and I have asthma and smoking... doesn't go well with that. I'm the same way. I occasionally splurge with going out to eat. It depends on what's going on and all that. :) I have a meal plan when I'm at school and get 350$ towards spending anywhere I want to spend them per semester. :)

I remember having a ... I can't remember what it was but it was some sort of candy that was around for years... I ended up throwing it out as well because I got tired of it. Oh, yeah! It was a giant jaw breaker. xD

Haha, I can't decide if I want to be rainbow, or pink. xD Just doing a lot of moving about with figuring things out. I may be changing for awhile. xP

Definitely. Strut away while saying "Haters gonna hate."

The days of campus eating are long past me. I cook occasionally at home, but it can be a pain with my grandparents around and with them not always wanting to eat what I cook. I probably eat out a bit more than I should, but that's life.

I like the rainbow look, but it's your avi, so it's up to you :D

Hahaha! Yes!

I do have access to a full kitchen at home, I just don't have the time to always cook. Rather, I don't always have the time, or money, to go and get food, so I can cook. But I can cook if I need to. ^_^

Thanks. I like the rainbow too, but I like the pink. But I decided to try to make the rainbow work - watch me work on it, and get frustrated and just end up going back to my sleepy cloud avatar.

Also if I disappear, it's because my internets are being stupid and keep deciding to drop. Maybe I should take it as a sign and head to bed. xD

It's nice to have a kitchen to work in. And even if it's annoying sometimes, at least I have everything I need in my grandmother's kitchen. I've cooked in other places and needed a certain thing and they just won't have it. Stuff I think is basic, like a potato masher or a set of dry measuring cups. It's tricky, but you can make it work.

The thing that always gets me is the people who claim they can't cook. I feel like everyone can cook. You're just mixing a few ingredients and applying heat as required in a lot of cases. If you pay attention, it shouldn't be that hard. I feel like it's an excuse for some to be lazy, or a badge of honor in other cases. Some people are weirdly proud that they lack such a basic life skill. I mean, everyone eats food. You should know how to cook something!

You can do it!

I should sleep too, but I won't, because I drank that giant Dr. Pepper earlier! I was hoping it would help get rid of my headache, but it has not. The headache is still here. *sighs*

Yeah, I've been meaning to go and buy myself a few things - but I make do without them. My roommates are stupid and won't let me borrow their things ... so I have to learn to just make do with what I have.

Oh, gosh yes! I agree, it is just an excuse to be lazy. Everyone can cook. Maybe some are better than others, but everyone should be able to make at least just the basics!

Thanks! It'll be a work in progress.

Oh, dear! :( Booo headache! D: Hopefully the headache goes away soon, those are never any fun - I had a really bad headache on Friday, that mostly got brought on by a minor panic attack I had while crossing a suspension bridge - over a really high gulch (which didn't help) and two of our friends we were with, were making it rock, and then mom stopped and I couldn't get off the stupid thing. D: And then after I calmed down, I had to walk back across it to get to the other side again. Torture! But I did it. Somehow!
Can you take meds for your headache? Or are oyu like me and only take meds when you absolutely need to?

I love kitchen gadgets, but usually, I refrain from buying them. So many of them are so specialized, it's hard to justify buying them!

A friend who can't cook told me that microwave pancakes are the best thing ever. and I was like "Surely you're exaggerating. There's a lot of other things out there better than microwave pancakes." And she's like "Nope, they are literally the BEST THING EVER, because I can't cook at all and now I can eat pancakes!" ....what a sad life you lead friend. A sad life indeed.

That sounds awful! I took some aspirin for the headache. Since my headaches can turn to migraines at the drop of a hat, I always try to take something to stave off further pain! But I should probably take more than I do. I just take what it says on the bottle and hope it works. It often doesn't. x_x

Oh, yeah - but then that one time that you get to play around with one you're like "omg! But when would I ever actually use this if I did get one for myself?"

Wow! O.o That's just sad! I can think of so many more better things than microwaved pancakes - and I've never had them. I actually lived for 18 years without actually owning a microwave. And I barely use the one I do have now.

It was awful. The bridge itself was beautifully designed, but the combo of everything just wasn't good. I made them all stay off the bridge while I speedily - while trying not to make it rock too much - walked back across. Oh, that's good to try to keep on top of it! I always carry meds with me too - I just didn't have my purse with me when the headache hit the other day, so I had to just try not to give into wanting to turn around and go back to the car as soon as the pain got too bad, but I managed to get it mostly under control until I could take pain meds. I know the feeling - sometimes it helps. Other times it just decides "Nope! Not going to cooperate!" Darned stupid headaches! And definitely a good plan to stay on top of them so they don't turn into migraines!

What I currently need is more silicone spatulas. What I didn't realize was that they'd take on smells/flavors like onions and garlic, which is ok when you're cooking savories, but it kind of ruins sweets. I need a whole different set for making my cakes and other sweets. The reasonably priced brand that I bought before got discontinued though. Booo.

Yeah, your life is sad if microwave pancakes are the best thing in it. Personally, I prefer crepes to pancakes. I have a cute little crepe maker, but I haven't made them in a while. I should do that soon!

I sometimes give it a cocktail of drugs. Some aspirin and then a tylonal. It's the same as taking an excedrin migraine pill!

Oh that is something that makes sense but isn't something I really thought about before. Darn the line that you liked being discontinued. :(

I'm more of a waffle person myself. Although I have been spoiled, I admit, because my dad makes really really really good homemade waffles. So the frozen eggo waffles usually aren't good enough for me. XD

At least it works yeah?
Also sorry if there are any weird autocorrects, I've moved over to my Tablet and I'm too lazy to turn over to grab my Bluetooth keyboard I have for it. XD

Yeah, I noticed it when I was making a lovely lemon curd. I licked the spatula and was like "....I taste....garlic." x_X

Oddly enough, I actually prefer eggo waffles to homemade. I like them kinda dry and crunchy, but homemade waffles are usually too moist for me. And it's really funny, because I've been to Belgium and had actual Belgian waffles and they are delicious! But nothing here is really what I want out of a waffle. *Shrugs*

It works sometimes.

It's ok. I really should be getting to bed, but I just found a new youtube channel. When that happens, I spend at least an hour looking at new video after new video instead of sleeping! C'mon Cookie, drag your butt into bed!

Oh, that is definitely not a good combo of flavors! Yeah, it may be a good idea to get a second set and use them separately.

That's understandable. Could it be because you have more control over what you like with the Eggo waffles? Dad makes amazingly crispy yet not too crispy, and they're just amazing tasting. He rarely makes them though - they're only for special occasions.

Oh, I've so done that before - I've been in the middle of an NCIS marathon over all break - I'm currently on season 9, I started with series 3, I think - for no reason other than I just felt like starting with 3. I have the seasons up through 10 - it's a matter of making myself stop and turn off my laptop so I can sleep.
Hopefully you got some sleep and it was good! :)
