Cookie: I have had that happen - I just can't remember which movie it was for! And I'm the same way with rarely going to see movies - well by going to the movies I mean like going to the theater. I do watch stuff on Netflix -it's my way to unwind after classes. I usually just have it on in the background though.
Nola: Hello there! I'm doing ok-ish. Wishing I was back home- so much more quiet there! But I'll survive, somehow. xD :P How're you? :]

That's good. At least you're finding something to try to un-bore you, is it working?
I'm trying to wake up. Haha, I'll probably end up falling back to sleep in a bit.

Hi hi Nola.
I'm listening to the wind and rain beat the house down and wondering what to eat.

Sounds like you don't really need to watch it again
It was very windy earlier, plus rain. It's calmed down now. So time to jump in the shower. Artificial rain!

Haha, true true!!
That sounds lovely to me! I miss weather. I missed all the big storms back home. :( Darn! They all happened before I got home in December.
LOL! Yeah! Rain you can turn off when you want to!! :P I need to take a shower tonight too - and then wake up with crazy hair tomorrow... xD I'm not big on drying it with a hair dryer, I learn how to try to tame it the morning after a shower. Haha! :P

We've had plenty of blustery weather lately. There are a lot of tree branches down in the yard, one that just missed my car in the driveway The sound of the wind out there reminds me of when I lived in Scotland. It got really windy. We didn't really have that kind of weather in Louisiana outside of hurricanes. And you usually don't want to be home during those.
I probably will dry my hair. I hate having a wet scalp. I don't know how people can shower and just leave the house with their head soaking. It feels gross! I mean, I can sit around the house and let it air dry, but on a night like tonight when it's cold and windy, the hair dryer is coming out!

That does sound scary!! Oh, gosh! So glad that we don't have many crazy winds or hurricanes in California! We do have earthquakes though.
Oh, I hate going out with wet hair!! No no. haha! I don't understand how people can do that either!
I usually wash it at night after I know I won't be going out.

I don't usually go out with wet hair, either. During the wintertime when it's cold out, I will definitely blow-dry my hair so that I don't possibly get sick.

When I was down in Australia during winter, you have to wash your hair/take showers during the day, because it's so cold at night that having wet hair etc... is not appealing, so I would usually take them mid morning while I was down there.

Yeah, around here you can go out with wet hair and it will freeze....It's been that cold lately!
And luckily, I missed the slippery road weather. It was almost mild even. I was able to run out to my car without a jacket on. Heck, I left work with only a sweater on!

Yeah, a few weeks ago I went out, not realizing how horrible the roads were going to be. I almost got stuck on a hill x_x But I didn't. I made it off. I just made sure to drive really slow on the way home because nobody was out plowing or salting the roads. They were awful. I saw people fishtailing and junk.

Oh, gosh, sounds scary!
I'm glad that you managed to make it off ok!!
Icy roads are terrifying to drive on!!
I used to live where it snowed! Definitely not fun to be out in!
Even walking in it, for me at least, was dangerous. xD

The roads are scary. The way people drive as if the roads aren't affected is the scariest though. It's dangerous! Drive slower! Drive carefully instead of changing lanes without blinkers and zipping through traffic like you usually do. That stuff is bad on a regular day, but on a slippery day, people can't stop for your jackass driving to avoid hitting your dumb ass.
Hi hi Salvete. :)

That is dangerous!! People need to realize that when the roads are icy/snowy... etc etc... they need to be more careful than normal!! Yes!! D: Stupid people!

Even when it's only raining, people are the same. But if there's water on the road, you're not going to get the best traction. Stopping in the rain will be harder than stopping on a dry road! But most people just suck at driving! And you never stop to think of how many of them don't actually have licenses. There seem to be a lot of people around here out on the roads without licenses. Which means, they probably never took any classes or tests, or if they did, they didn't pass them! So they just do whatever out there on the road. And on top of that, they'll be uninsured.

PEople just don't seem to understand that you need to add caution to one's driving when driving conditions are different than normal - even be cautious even with normal conditions. You never know what happens. I don't drive, and I even know this. xD
True! That is a good point - it's a terrifying thought!

Exactly! Always be cautious when you're driving a giant metal death machine! You can kill people and animals with it! It's not a tank. If you crash it, you can die!
Yeah, I had a former co-worker that was like that. Didn't have a license. Constantly getting tickets because he'd get pulled over for his shit driving. Then you get a ticket for not having a license. Then they don't want to even consider giving you one because your record is crap. And of course you aren't insured because you don't have a license. If one of those assholes hits you, they are taking off because they are in so much shit for doing what they're doing. Then we're required to have uninsured motorist coverage on our insurance policies to cover those idiots.
If you can't afford insurance, don't drive. I hate to say it, but driving is still a luxury, not a right. Some people seem to think it's a right or even a necessity. There is life without a car. Yes, it's more complicated, but city folks survive without them just fine. It's just that our infrastructure shits on people without cars sometimes in less urban places. Yes, you can catch a bus around here, but there aren't always ones going to where you want to go without various transfers or without leaving an hour or two early just so you're not late.
I have a car now, but I did live in Berkeley, California for a while. I walked, I road the subway and took cabs. I actually kind of miss all that walking. I don't really do much of it now that I have a car. Then again, my city really isn't a walking city unless I head for the capital. And parking sucks down there, so it's rare!
That turned into quite the rant

Haha, it did -but I do totally agree with you!!
I live in LA at the moment - well near LA -I live in the North end of the valley, anyways... yeah, so I walk everywhere. I really don't take buses, but buses are around. Yesterday just walking from my room to the bookstore and back, was over 6000 steps. Took me an hour to walk there and back and then I did walking around the bookstore getting things I needed.
