That makes sense. Different levels of tiredness definitely change a person. :D
That sounds like fun! I think I used to do similar things on long car rides if I had a friend with me. I'm pretty much an only child so car rides were lonely, but I was never really bored. What kind of games did you come up with when you were little? :D I think me and my friends had really silly ideas like waving to people in other care to see if they'd save back, and playing I Spy. LOL. Zen tangles! I just recently heard about se tangles from a woman at my job, those designs look absolutely awesome! I love zen tangles, I have yet to try anything like that myself, though. Do you have any inspirations for your doodles? :)
That is totally understandable. Cooking does take a while, especially for recipes you're not already familiar with. That's a lot of papers due!! How do you keep organized for writing and preparing for presentations? I was always terrible with organization, so having a ton of papers and presentations would probably stress me out really quickly. XD
Well, it definitely sounds like something perfect for you, that's for sure! :3 I'm glad to hear that you like it so much! It's good when you're in college and actually enjoying what you're studying. I feel so bad for some people who go to college and they hate what they're studying or they're just doing it because their parents told them to, or because they think it'll get them a job faster. Life is short, better to spend it doing something you actually love, right? Do you have friends who can sign too?

Oh, for sure!!
I was an only child till age 5 - so a lot of the car rides we went on before I Was 5 was just me. So I can relate - although I can't remember it totally. My parents were good at keeping me entertained, so I didn't drive them crazy in the process.
Nope, just whatever patterns jump out at me. I don't do them quite as you're supposed to - I have a journal - I forget the size - but it's a smallish square - like 5" x 5" and I do zentangle patterns, by making boxes - and then filling in the whole page with different patterns. Like the whole page, not separate boxes. You should try them! They're so not hard to do at all! :D And they look really awesome! :D
Yeah, and I'm sure to get quite a few more papers to do in the classes today - that I need to leave for soon. Just gotta finish getting dressed and try to control my hair. Eh, most of the time I'm not totally sure - the group presentations for me are the easiest because I don't have to be up by myself and you can use the others to help you if you do need help - all my presentations are done in ASL.
It's taken me awhile to figure out what I wanted to do. Do you know what you want to do? :)
I do have friends who sign, more friends down here than back at home. I live in the Deaf/Hard of Hearing/Hearing who sign dorm on campus. So my whole building signs. ^_^
I may be UBER slow and not respond till tonight as I may not be taking my laptop with me to campus today. I may take my tablet and my keyboard for it with me, so I may respond on my break between classes. We'll see. :]

Haha! Yay for fun, entertaining parents! I think entertaining children for long trips is probably one of the hardest things to do! Children have such short attention spans if you can't pick the right them to keep them entertained and they are so hard to please! Especially when they're really young.
Wow! That sounds awesome. :o I bet it's a really fast way to kill time too! So many intricate little details... it sounds easy to have fun doing that! I think I will give it a whirl sometime. I like drawing, but I haven't been able to draw anything for a while now, just haven't found the inspiration.
Would you say it's harder to do presentations in ASL than it was to do in spoken English? (Or, whatever language is your native language?) I can definitely understand that the group presentations would be easier. What are the topics of your presentations, usually?
I know what I want to do, but it's not the typical things that most people do. I currently write music and I enjoy acting, so I'm planning to move to California this year to pursue a career in music and acting. To be honest, I don't want to be famous or anything, I just want to make money doing what I love. :)
Oh wow! That's really cool, I didn't know they had dorms like that! That must be really awesome that you can sign all the time, then. :)
I should so apologize! I'm soooo slow with responding! Do the forums usually move pretty fast here?

*flops* Hullo guys *Waves*
Sometimes I wonder what I used to do before technology, but I'm still really good at entertaining myself with reading or even just staring off into space and imagining fun scenarios. :D
No need to apologize for slow responses, it's not like forums are a chat program with instant responses. During events the forums can run pretty fast, but all the rest of the time it's more laid back. Though the speed of the thread will vary depending on popularity or how many people regularly frequent it. We're a lot slower these days than we were in our heyday. :)

Hi For-Chan Cookie! :)
I recently started reading books again. I'm working on reading Wuthering Heights now. Normally, I'd just read fanfiction on my iPad, but I want to break away from being so technology-dependent now. Haha.
Oh, I see. That makes sense! Do you usually have specific times of the years when events take place? Like, once every few months or so? Or are events usually centered around holidays? c:

I AM DONE WITH CLASSES FOR THE WEEK!!!!
Ava: Haha, yeah - I wish I remembered those trips, we used to take long car trips when I was younger that I don't remember anything about. We do have pictures but those don't help much. :P
It is fun! And a great way to pass the time in a creative way! It's nice because it's relaxing and you end up with something pretty!!
Both are hard for me to do - I do not do well with people watching me. ASL is harder in a way because it's my second language and I sometimes totally forget important key words. As for topics, it depends on the class. Last semester I had a Deaf and the Law class, and we did a 20 minute presentation on state and national parks and how to try to make them more accessible to deaf/hard of hearing, and what services they offer. But really it depends on the class. All are centered around some aspect of deafness and Deaf Culture though. :)
That's cool! Where in California - I'm a California girl, born and raised. And nothing wrong with following your dreams, who says that your dreams have to be the same as everyone else. That'd be boring! Dream big! :]
Oh, most universities don't. It's just because I'm at one of the two colleges in the US that have a Deaf Studies program and we have a pretty big deaf/hard of hearing population at my school. But it really is awesome! One of my good friends is deaf-blind. I actually just got home after having dinner with her. :]
Cookie: True! Slow is easier for me to keep up with! :P How're you doing?

Hi Ava. :D
I have a book that I was so excited to buy, it's part of a series. And I have yet to read it. Like you, I mostly read fanfiction. A lot of it! I know that once I sit down to read it, I'll devour it in a day or two, but until then, I just keep not reading it.
I mean, when the threads are busy, I like to stay around and keep up. At times, it moves almost as fast as instant messaging! However, it's been quite a while since THIS thread has moved like that. :)
Most of the events are holiday themed. The next one up will be Valentine's Day. Some of the smaller holidays will just get some special shop items. There's also at least one summer event (sometimes two I think) and then Halloween and Winter holidays. There's also a user run event every now and then.
@Cloud - Yay! I wish I was done with work for the week. :P
Slow is easier. However, when it's slow, it's easier for my attention to wander and then I come back two hours later thinking "Oh shit! I ignored everybody! "
I'm ok. Putting off getting the trash together to take it outside. That means I have to get dressed again. Ugh.

Cookie: It's going to take awhile getting used to - haha! I'll probably sleep in tomorrow! And then go and get my books that arrived today but I showed up 19 minutes after they closed so I couldn't go and get them today. Darn!
True - I tend to do the same thing, I make it back eventually. We all do.
That's good - awwww, I hate that - when you get all comfy and then remember you need to go back outside.- that happened to me the other day. D:

I still haven't done it. I need to sleep soon, which I guess means I have to get out there and take out the trash. *sigh*

Haha, my brain needs a break though! XD I've been in classes the last two days and apparently having all four of them in sign with no 'terp is more exhausting than I thought. xD
Awww, can't you take it out tomorrow before you leave?

No. I hate waking up early for any reason. I am the roll out of bed, get dressed and leave type. Lately, I don't even bother with food before I leave. I'd rather spend that extra time in bed! But as I was walking downstairs with my bags of trash, I realized that Monday was a holiday and there won't be pickup till Friday. But I was already downstairs, so I took out half of the trash.
Now I'm eating some frosted flakes with chocolate milk. It is terrible and delicious.

Ah, that's understandable though! :] I'm sometimes the same way - the trash bins that we use here are right on my way out so I sometimes combine trips, if I am thinking about grabbing the trash before I leave. It doesn't always happen.
Sometimes that's the best - I ate a pint of Ben and Jerry's Cookie Dough ice cream tonight. Omg, it was so good!

Yeah, the trash guys usually come about the same time that I wake up, so not happening.
I know. It's kind of like eating a bowl of cocoa crispies, only flakes instead. Om nom nom.

Nope. Can you believe it was my mom who made me do it?! When I was in high school, we were out of milk for my cereal and she's like "There's chocolate milk in there. Just use it." And I was scandalized, like "I can't use that!" And she told me if I wanted to eat, I'd use it. So I did, and it was wonderful! I only do it with frosted flakes, but there are plenty of other cereals I'm sure it'd be tasty with!

Hi Paranoid Doll! :)
I'm currently traveling so I am going to be very, very slow at responding! I just wanted to post to say hi, and hope that all of you are doing well.
I have never tried cereal with chocolate milk, but it sounds so devilishly good! I don't like Frosted Flaked though. ;( I'll have to find some cereal that I really love!
I personally prefer chocolate almond milk to regular chocolate milk.

Doll: That's good to hear! you're welcome! I'm doing ok - a bit tired, just went to a social and it was louder than I was thinking it would be. But I'm now over at a friend's place, and it's quieter than it was where we were - so that's good.
Ava: I hope that your travels go smoothly and where ever you're going, you have a good time. :)
I'm doing pretty good here. ;]
I'm not really a fan of cereal with milk myself, it makes it too soggy.

I didn't go too far away from home. I am from Minnesota but I drove down to Wisconsin with my parents to attend my grandfather's funeral.
We weren't planning on going because there's currently a lot of drama with my family because of my grandfather's death and I really didn't want to be surrounded by that, but it was alright.
