Resumes are the devil! I hate the whole damn thing! This is why I'm stuck at the crappy job I have, because I like to avoid this awful process of torture!

My hate for job hunting is what kept me at my current job for so long!
I hate resumes too, I never know what to out for those things!

I mean, in theory it's as simple as plug the relevant information into the relevant slot. In practice, it's a monster. There's five bajillion different resume formats. Certain types of jobs prefer certain kinds with different information. They're not really one size fits all. Then you need cover letters. You're not supposed to put too little, but you're not supposed to put too much either. It's a minefield.

Thanks hummy I'm going to apply for lots. My manager has clearly gone insane. I've worked with her for a long time, but a lot of her decisions lately have been real stinkers.

Our company has this customer survey that they put entirely too much weight on. Like, there is no incentive for customers to take this thing other than to complain. We do receive the occasional compliment, but who takes surveys? You crumble up the receipt and throw it away. But this company attaches a lot of meaning to these surveys that nobody takes. They score us on these things that nobody takes. We had an employee who was able to push them and got lots of people to take them, but A) she was drinking on the job and B) she was flat out harassing people to take the survey, to the point that they would complain. My bosses response? "She gets the surveys." Yeah, but at what price?

And as the drinking continued, she got really hostile, especially with me, who she'd previously been friendly with. Then one day we had a different manager on, who was like "This chick is drunk, she can't be here." So she takes her outside to discuss the situation and the girl goes off on her, screaming about how it's all my fault and that she's gonna come back in and beat me up and stuff. She left quietly, but the manager was standing between her and me the whole time, and I was totally oblivious. Needless to say, she got fired.

But now suddenly, we need these stupid surveys, so my general manager wants to bring her back! This is the same general manager that wouldn't fire the registered sex offender that kept harassing our teenage female staff! Her priorities are just so fucked up, I am so done. Like, you want to work for some place where they care about their people more than their numbers right? This is not that place anymore. It hasn't been for a while, but this just hammers it home. I need to get a new job.

What I did was...nothing! That's what happens when people are alcoholics (and possibly on drugs). They get hostile. I was the same as I ever was, but I just became the easy target. The fact that this is even being considered, let alone they're going through with it just shows what shitty people they are. I think I'm going to request a transfer to another location for the time being, because I just don't want to deal with this BS and I shouldn't have to. I have the right to not have to work in a hostile work environment.

I am so sorry to hear about your work woes. I love the job I am at. Though one of my coworkers is getting on my last nerve. Like today she stacked all the wet floor signs that had been out from last night and then told me to bring them back to where they belonged. She was coming behind the counter herself. Luckily the one manger I had the most issues with isn't here anymore. She finished school and got a job in her field. So there is that.

The place I'd transfer too is a little farther away, by a mile, maybe? But I know most of the people there and while there's always highjinks at any job, there should be less of them there.
