I took home economics in high school, but I've definitely learned more from watching cooking shows and just finding recipes online and trying them out than anything else. I'm still pretty lazy about cooking, but when I choose to do it, I like to do it well. :D
Definitely make it. I've made it a bunch of times and it's never come out bad. It's not really that hard and it's worth the extra effort.
I need to make a lasagna soon. Frozen lasagnas seem to be universally awful! And there's just no way to fix them. Once my grandmother smothered her stauffer's lasagna in real mozzarella and it just didn't help. Yummy cheese on flavorless sad sauce and noodles. :P

There's a reason why I love the food network channel...or at least half the shows on there. I just kinda sit there and watch all the amazing happen.
Yeah, after making lasagna on my own I don't think I'll ever go back to the frozen stuff. XP
It's just not the same...even cheater's lasagna is better.

I used to watch a lot of food network when I had a tv in my room hooked up to cable. I have a tv in my room now, after a few years of going without, but it's not hooked up to cable. I just have it to stream too and I almost never do that... total waste of money.
Yeah. And you can put all sorts of yummy things in your own lasagna. I like to put spinach in the ricotta mix and mushrooms in with the meat. Om nom nom.

I know a few people with a TV in their room that they never use. I actually finally got rid of mine this last summer...or something. XD
MUSHROOMS!
Well...now I need to try that.

I just watch everything on my computer! I though once I got a tv and a chromecast to stream to it with, I'd watch more stuff on it, relaxing in bed. But that's not the case. I just am so used to being at the computer, staying connected on one screen while I watch stuff on the other, the habit is hard to break!
I love mushrooms. And mushrooms fit perfectly in with ground beef to go in lasagna!

I like both. If I only baked cakes and cookies all the time, I'd probably be triple the size I am right now
Anyway, I didn't get any sleep last night and it's catching up with me, so I'm going to call it a night. This is pretty early for me, but it's best to go when sleepy than fight it and be stuck up all night again!
Good night! *waves and blows kisses and stumbles off*

@Cookie: Lol, I'm pretty much the same here.
I like baking more in all honestly. Though cooking is starting to get more fun. ^_^

Rad is alive! I'd been wondering how you were doing.
I do more baking than cooking, but I do enjoy both. Plus, you get a bigger yeild out of baking usually. Who's gonna argue with lots of cookies? :D No one! That's who!

I made a tuna casserole tonight. I've transcended recipes on that dish! Woo! I can just throw stuff in and it will be tasty.

It's an easy recipe. Two cans of tuna, two cans of mushroom soup and a bit of milk to thin it out. Mix it all with a bag of cooked egg noodles and viola! But we had some leftover mushrooms that needed to be cooked, so I tossed them in, and my grandmother likes to add green olives with pimentos, but I hate those, so I tossed in some chopped up black olives. The brined tasted of the olives goes well in the dish. I've seen recipes call for peas and cheese, but it was good just like that. I put some of those crispy onion things on top for a crispy topper, since I still can't find the panko breadcrumbs.

There were some regular breadcrumbs on the counter, but panko are crunchier when baked. Besides, I thought crunchy onion bits would go well with it, and it did, so all was well.
Yes, I love mushrooms :D

Yep. Breadcrumbs, you could just make them by drying out some bread and crushing it up for breadcrumbs in a pinch. Panko are Japanese breadcrumbs. Apparently, they're made with bread that has no crust and their lighter, airier texture resists absorbing oil, so you get a lighter, crunchier crisp. Bread some chicken cutlets with flour, egg, and then panko and fry them up and they'll be some of the crispiest chicken cutlets you ever made. I love smothering them in tonkatsu sauce. Om nom nom. Delicious.

O.o That's interesting.
I might have to go get myself some panko breadcrumbs just for that purpose.

Yeah, they're definitely great for frying or making a crispy topping to toss on a casserole. They should be pretty easy to find too now that Kikkoman sells them.

I stole that picture from the Walmart website, so, even if that's the only thing in the area, your chances are pretty good if your Walmart has a little asian food section.
