Hahaha! That would quite the sight to see! Though I'm sure most would prefer not to.

They're not really places I'm all that familiar with. What was it like? Was it what you expected?

About Macau
Macau, like Hong Kong, is a Special Administrative Region of the People's Republic of China (PRC). It had been colonised by the Portuguese for centuries before being handed back to China in 2000. It is separate enough to have its own currency (though the locals also accept Hong Kong currency happily as an alternative, because HKD is slightly worth more than MOP) MOP being the local currency.
It is a very interesting place and it still surprises me that many people in Western Society don't actually know it exists, let alone anything about the place.
It is known as the Las Vegas of Asia, because of the numerous casinos, with more being developed...including the current largest Casino in the world, The Venetian, Macau. Hong Kong and PRC residents often go there to have their gambling fun fix when they have days free because it is not allowed in Hong Kong or PRC and it is very easy and convenient for them to pass customs.
What I did there
Macau is where I spent majority of my time, stayed with one of the relatives who lives there and often hung out with other relatives when they had free time. We had a few family dinners...with a table of 10+ family members together...at different restaurant/eateries. These family gatherings were always nice, because I actually don't have extended family living locally at home so I felt a sense of family warmth and belonging each time we got together as a large group like that...
I was away for 30 days, and because only 6 of those days were spent elsewhere, there was time and opportunity to explore and see a lot of Macau. We'd get around by public bus or free casino shuttles a lot of the time. Because we had local guides in the form of relatives who reside there, we were also sometimes driven to other places in their cars...and I rode the back of my Aunt's scooter one time too, which was a bit of a thrill for me as someone who'd only been a passenger on a scooter one other time before many years ago.
The exterior architecture and interior design and decor of the newer casinos were a highlight in terms of interesting places to see...the casino complexes often also have food courts, restaurants, high class brand name shops like LV or D&G contained within them and these areas are for people of all ages to enter...the actual casino gaming areas are interesting too, also very beautiful fancy interior design, most have free mini bottles of drinking water available for the taking...and many also serve free glasses of hot coffee or Hong Kong style milk tea which were brewed and made to satisfy most coffee or milk tea drinkers tastes.

I have heard of Macau, but it's true I know nothing of it. I'm geographically challenged as a rule. sounds like an interesting place though. It's real nice you got to hang with lots of family. I always love giant dinners like that. Sounds like it was a great vacation!

It is small, in terms of land mass but it is jam packed with stuff...the older Macau residential built up areas, especially so...there are permanent market stalls that are dotted along pedestrian only streets with retail shops, there are many narrow one way streets with cars parked along both sides in parallel park fashion...so the locals have to learn to reverse parallel park both sides which to me is kind of insane, because I struggle figuring out just one side.
There are many tiny eateries with so little space for dining in that it is not unusual to end up sharing a table with strangers at the popular ones at busy times. The best wonton noodle soup I've ever had is in one of the somewhat more spacious of these eateries. They wrap the wontons on a table among the dining tables, very quickly and the reason I say think they're the best is because the filling for the wonton has so much prawn meat that it's like eating a Yum Cha style prawn dumpling, only with wonton skin wrapping...
I really enjoyed my time there.
I'd been there before, about 7 years ago. That time I was a tad clueless and sort of just being lead from place to place with the whole experience of overseas travel and language/culture differences being enough to fascinate me...I had the memories from that experience as a guide to what to expect this time...
Things are different, and the experience was different this time because while it was mostly the same relatives I saw, I stayed with a different relative in a newly built apartment building further away, on an island called Taipa, across the sea with 3 bridges connecting to the Macau area. And there are changes, new casinos, and new places...like Macau Science Center that weren't there last time.
I think this time there was a lot more time between booking the flights and actual departure date...which gave me time to mentally prepare for the journey and experience...I tried to improve my Cantonese during this time, and the practice did help enough that I was able to at least have the confidence to buy stuff in a shop and say 'excuse me' when I needed to pass by, or 'sorry' for bumping into you, or 'thanks' for serving me at a checkout.

My dad suggested that, but I don't even know what I would do. I need to fill out this application for the grocery store. They're doing a massive city wide hire.
