The puppy stage can be hard to deal with. And a lot of people abandon older dogs just because they're older.
But older dogs make for great companions if you're not so physically active, or if you have a smaller space to live in.

Thats a true point, but I prefere getting them in puppy stage myself.
Though I would never abandon them at adult stage o.0

No, nor would I. But that doesn't stop a lot of people (who shouldn't even be allowed to have animals, imo) from deciding that "it's too old to deal with. Let's just leave it."

I have 2 cats. One's a Turkish Van (very distinctive breed) named Natasha or Tasha for short. The other's a Tortie or really a tabby named Rosie. (Went through a bunch of names for Rosie. None of them seemed right.) We rescued both from the pound. We've had Tasha the longest, and when we introduced her to Rosie, she immediately hated her. It's been a couple of years, and they're finally starting to somewhat get along. Rosie still attacks her sometimes with her claws. (Tasha is declawed.) But, they have been able to sit and sleep in the same room, now. Rosie's really sweet, cute, and playful. Tasha can be a clown. I love them both.
We used to have another cat before Rosie named Shadow, but she passed away. Tasha seemed very depressed. So, after about 3 months we got Rosie. Shadow was always glued to my side, and was interested in what I was doing. We called her Shadow, because she acted like my 'shadow'.
Before Tasha, we had a beagle named Buster. Also, passed away. Shadow was depressed until we got Tasha. She really opened up to her. Buster was a really mischievous dog. Shadow loved him. Before Buster, we had 2 cats. Both tabbies, named Shana and Drifter. They were like a married couple. They were around me since I was born. Anyways, sorry this is so long...I might post pics of Rosie and Tasha in the future.

Ugh poor momo. I feel your pain. My dad complains that house smells because of the cats peeing on the carpet. I get so tired of it.

My mom and sister are allergic to cats so we've always had outside dogs. Right now we have an English Shepherd who's pretty old! Haha When we go visit my grandma (and her English Shepherd) we take him with us. It's always pretty funny trying to get him in the back of the suburban. haha

Aww he likes grandma's house? Sounds cute. My dad found an ad for a free Schnauzer in our paper. I'd love to have him. But with six cats I can't. Cats are only good if you have like one or two. Well any animal probably. I just miss having a doggy, I grew up having cats and dogs.
