llonka is a new mommy... fatherinlaw brought over a baby turtle for jacob.

what did y'all name him?

Jacob named him Don. Like Donatello the ninja turtle.

I'm still a little depressed. My Mom & Dad had to have one of the kittens put to sleep.
She was such a cute & lovey kitten named Marci, but I liked to call her Squirrely.
She was a very fluffy & had a tail that reminded me of a squirrel & she usually had it sort of curved like a squirrel tail.
She has been having seizures & had got to the point she couldn't even get up anymore.
My parents had been taking great care of her, when she had the first seizure the vet was not completely sure what was going on with her.
She went a couple of months without having any more seizures, but then when she had the last one the vet had come across some information in a veterinary journal about a condition that affects some kittens. Most don't make it to the age of 2.
Marci had a hard time putting on any weight, in the 4 months between the seizures she had only gained a little over 2 pounds.
She was such a sweet kitten & she will be missed, I know she had a good family for the short time she was here.

Now to one of my cats. We have been feeding the stray cats in our area for a while. Well some of them stay much longer than others. Butter Rum was one of those that stayed for a long time. Actually he was born here & never left, his mother was a stray that showed up here & left us with a couple of kittens. He disappeared a few weeks ago, he was getting old & most of the outside cats will wander off for a couple of days, so we don't worry until they are gone for a three or four days. I still don't know for sure what happened to him. Miscreant did tell me a few days ago he had saw some of the turkey vultures around the creek after Butter Rum disappeared, but couldn't see what they were after. I'm assuming the worst.
He was a pretty good cat. When he was younger & we had a canopy swing in the back yard, he used to like to get in the swing with me & would stay there for hours. He had gotten to be sort of a grumpy cat as he got older, but I still loved him. I miss him. He was named Butter Rum because his stripes were the color of butter rum lifesavers.

I have something happy/cute and totally true, like 100% happened exactly this way so it makes it even cuter XD

I was driving back home from my morning work out. It was before 6 am and dark when I see something crossing the road in front of me. Then I see that it's a hedgehog. They are so cute. So I stop for it and let it cross the road to the park. Then I notice, not only is it a hedgehog crossing the road to go to the kiddie park but it's crossing the road.... get this... on the cross walk XD It was too cute. I wish I had recorded it or something

Zeph, they are smart creatures! Maybe it noticed the humans crossing there and figured it was the safe place to cross.
