I don't seem to belong anywhere, I try to fit in and have friends but the moment they find out I have a mental illness they just use me for when they want to feel better about themselves.

Nothing seems to be good enough for anyone to accept me, I've tried being myself and I've tried chaning who I am yet nothing works.

I just feel like dissapearing and never comming back because no one would miss me.

oh HIM! I would miss you. Your spunky and original and everytime I see you you're full of life. And who else would mercilessly tease Mr. Mayor.
HIM ignore the people that want to use you, ignore those that don't care, but remember there are people who love you and accept you, and even if the majority of them are online friends, well then they are, accept it and accept us. Because we love you HIM *hugs*

I think it doesn't matter what they think. Unless you met someone who actually cares. Those people who don't, forget them. I understand it's hard to try to find out where you belong but eventually you will belong some where. It takes a while for someone to actually find a place where they actually feel they belong some where. I still am trying to find that place. ^^ But as long as you like yourself and you know what you want, you're good to go. You'd love yourself and know that nobody has to care about you but yourself. ^^

I don't really talk to you HIM but I see you around all the time and would definitely miss your presence! Everyone I know on here really respects what you have to say and they all seem to enjoy talking to you!

As for real life - those people can just shove off. If they can't see what a great person you are and they just try to use you then they don't deserve your friendship!!!

Illness? You seem fine to me. I'd be happy to chat with ya =)
(You are free to visit my hangout or PM me to chat at any times you wish)

You are you, if the illness changes how you act, that is how you are and who you are. Like autism, ADD, OCD, Down Syndrome, those are just who they are. Don't let people tell you who you have to be. ;)

I just don't seem to have a place to fit in, in life and I feel like I'm never going to because I'm going to be stuck in the same job forever because I don't have enough exams to get another job.

Have you tried looking into organizations that will give you support for education? If you do have a disability that is deemed to affect your daily life, there is support groups out there to help you get more education, and make every day living easier.

I'm a bit of a hermit, I'll admit it, but I found once you get into a class/program you can open up a little bit more.

Well... hmm... here's a little exercise for you that might help us figure out some "fitting in" advice.

What would you consider the ideal "hang out"? (Even if it's strange)

Personally I hadn't found a place I felt comfortable until about 2 or 3 weeks ago called the AFK Tavern (Nerd hangout with free gaming)

I don't know if anyone asked this already. But what's your environment like? Are you still in school? Graduated? Working?

Oh HIM! Like everyone else was saying, we would miss you around here. You are like a presence we all enjoy. But as for what the other people do... if they can't see the awesome-ness you have on the underneath than they are not worth knowing. Which I know is hard to see or understand, because you may not feel like you are awesome. But it's true.

What are exams? for like work? I don't understand it. Maybe you could take some more and study to change your job situation?

And just so you know, I wouldn't have thought you had a mental illness. So maybe you can take some of what you do on here... and use it where you are living? Either way if you'd like to chat, I am all over the place on Mene (I am ,for sure, but normally lurking) or you can PM me =) I am good at helping and listening.

I'm currently working two/three days a week as a lunch time superviser, which is rather stressful.

I am looking for another more full time job but most places want 5 GCSEs of grade C but I only have three that are grade C and a D which pputs people off.

I just feel like giving up on trying to find somewhere to belong as much as I try to fit in I can't. I can't communicate with people very well so it makes meeting new people and making friends really hard

What illness do you have?
And with meeting people, there can only be practice. It won't come easily to everyone but you need a self esteem boost an that can hamper it. But there's no quick fix for it.

Prove that you've got more than just being a depressed person with anxiety! Try using the "actions speek better than words" method. Join a group of some sort with similar interests, or do something pertaining to your hobbies in public in your spare time. Just keep doing something, and people might just pay attention. People sometimes tack stereotypes onto something as a reaction to not knowing anything else about you, so showing people who you are is a good start.

HIM, I know exactly how you feel. I have aspegers autism, and I suffer from dression and anxiety. The outside world is strange, and other people seem like a completly different species. But you can get out there. Find someone who has a common intrest. From there, you can venture out and get in touch with people.

HIM!! You know we love you, and it's on here somewhere where you get to be the real you, isn't it? I agree that you need to get away from your family home. You need to live somewhere where you get to be you, and don't have someone who thinks they're in charge of your life who isjudging you and trying to control you.

That shit with your "friends" will change (especially if you stop spending time with them), but in general people stop being emotional leeches as the grow up. Don't worry about not fitting in. I don't and I don't care, I also don't judge you because of the way your brain works, and I've known you for a long time now, probably longer than your crappy friends.

You're a unique individual, HIM, revel in that. You're a quick-witted, intelligent and funny girl, and we greatly enjoy your company on Mene. Ignore the RL fakers and hide online while you look for a new direction for your life to take. You're a whole lot stronger than you give yourself credit for you now, and you'll discover the life for you if you look hard enough

HIM, if you don't think I don't look forward to your wacky entries in my contest, you're bonkers! I seriously look forward to your fun, creative entries. I may not know you super well, but there is no way someone who can come up with some of the stuff you come up with, can't be anything but intelligent, creative and witty.

I sometimes don't fit in myself, but I often find it has to do with the fact that many of the folk I am around do not share my sense of humor (or have any sense of humor at all) or that those folks are not very intelligent. Maybe the problem is not YOU but is them?

Please keep your chin up and hang in there. There is an old expression for car sales..."There's a butt for every car"...There are friends and people out there who do and will feel enriched to have you in their life. Just keep at it and you will find them.
