Tosh thanked Ianto for the food and greeted Jack before taking her food to her desk. She was working on a new program and wanted to get it done. Eating wasn't going to slow her down.

"Really? That would be a first for you, sir." Ianto said, a small smile on his face as he began eating. It normally took so much effort to get his boss to any sort of paperwork.

Gwen arrived a few minutes later. She muttered a greeting to Tosh and Owen, and ignored Ianto before turning her attention to Jack. "Good morning, Jack." she said, a big smile on her face.

Owen nodded to Gwen briefly watching Jack and Ianto thinking. It was really rare for the Captain to be productive with work. The medic scoffed as Gwen looked at Jack. For a girl who apparently had a beau she was really going after Jack.

Jack said hello back quickly to Gwen before ignoring her and returning to Ianto. "I think I deserve a reward..." He said bluntly with a smirk looking at Ianto. Owen at this moment turned and muttered something about work going down to his lab smirking.

Gwen pouted when Jack ignored her. How dare he pay more attention to the tea-boy! She was much more important. She would just need to get him alone to help him realize this.

"And what do you think you deserve as a reward?" Ianto asked, his attention completely on Jack. He barely noticed Gwen come it. He saw it as easier to ignore her. Especially if she was going to ignore him.

Jack was either oblivious to Gwen or just really didn't care right now because his smirking gaze never left Ianto's face. He grinned wildly, "Well you a quisi creative man...what do you think I deserve?" He asked raising an eyebrow looking at him.

Ianto thought about it. "I'll think about it and if you finish the paperwork, then I'll give you some sort of reward." he said, a small smile on his face for a moment before leaving down to the archives.

Gwen barely watched Ianto leave, her gaze focused completely on Jack. She was trying to understand why he was paying any attention to the tea-boy. It didn't make any sense.

Jack grinned widely watchingIanto walk away. Now he had even mire motivation to finish his work. Then again maybe Ianto's idea of a reward would be something like a paperweight or something of that sort. He was pulled out of this train if thought by feeling Gwen's stare at him. He turned facing her, "Yes Gwen?" He asked.

Gwen was silent for a moment, not having realized Jack spoke at first. ".. Nothing Jack, just thinking." she said. Which was the truth. But it wasn't like she was going to tell him what she really was thinking about. Part of it being getting rid of the tea-boy so Jack could focus on what was really important, her.

"Ah...well nothing wrong with that...usually...if you don't mind me asking what are you thinking about? Still worried about what to do in Torchwood?" Jack asked offering her a smile and a small eyebrow raise. He was curious to know why she had been staring at him. He wasn't surprised since he usually drew stares and loved it, but he still wondered.

Gwen was silent for a moment before nodding. "Yeah.. That's it, Jack." she said. Yep, there was no way he could know about her plans. That would just ruin her plans for them to be happy together. Wouldn't want that, now would we? "I'll just get back to work.." she added, leaving and heading to her station.

Jack nodded looking at her, "Yeah that's a good idea...I'm going back to work to..." He said smirking as he turned at left Gwen heading to his office. Gwen wasn't all there he decided. She would just stare at him like she wanted to say something then didn't. He sighed shaking his head as he sat down and instantly going to work. He was curious to see what Ianto's idea would be.n

Ianto worked in the archives for a few hours before getting everybody another cup of coffee. Then headed up to the tourist center. It was a slow day. And there wasn't even a rift alert to make things at least a little bit interesting. That just figures. All well. It gave him time to think about what to do for Jack if he completed his paperwork. It would have to be something to motivate him to work harder in the future as well.

Jack sighed letting the pen drop from his hand. He took and released a deep breath letting his back fall against his chair. His hand hurt from all the writing. He had forced himself to finish all the work. With a small groan he debated whether all the work would be worth it. He sighed feeling a little proud of himself for having been able to complete all his work.

Ianto only returned down into the Hub after everybody else had left. He quickly cleaned up the mess that was made during the day before going to Jack's office, knocking as he came in. "Would you like any more coffee, Jack?" he asked. He'd do this firest before seeing if he actually got the paperwork done. It would be great if he did for once.

"Hmm?" Jack said looking up smiling as he saw Ianto, "No...no need...thank you for the offer though Ianto..." He said grinning, "I completed my paperwork by the way..." He said smirking proudly looking up into Ianto's face reading him curiously. He expected a look of disbelief to form over the tea-boy's face. Jack almost didn't believe it himself.

"Did you now?" Ianto asked, not really believing it, but he could see the files completed on Jack's desk. "I suppose you would want a reward then?" he asked. Though he really had no idea what he was going to give him for finishing the work. He never was able to think of something. All well. He could just have Jack decide what he wants.

Jack nodded grinning, "Do you have any ideas?" He asked crossing his arms a bit smirking. If Ianto had nothing Jack had a long list of rewards he believed he deserved. He wasn't sure how Ianto would react to some of the ideas Jack had. He smirked waiting.

Ianto thought about it for another moment. "I think you should decide what it is you think you deserve." he told him. And, depending on what it was, he would try to have it done for him. He did deserve something for working so hard, after all.

Jack grinned widely his eyes shining as he shifted through the list nodding as he picked one. He smiled as he got out of his chair, "Go out with me...one date..." Jack said dead serious, "No strings attached....just dinner..."

Whatever Ianto was expecting, it wasn't that. "I don't know, sir... I don't think that would be such a good idea." he said. Besides, it would be extremely awkward. For him at least. And that wasn't something he thought he could handle.

Jack sighed crossing his arms looking at Ianto feeling defeated. He shook his head, "Yeah...okay...sure...fine..." He said, "I suppose your right afterall..." He said sitting back down into his seat.

Ianto felt bad about upsetting Jack. "... I suppose.. Just dinner would be fine." he said. It couldn't be that bad, right? It was just dinner. And they were friends, right? At least, he thought so. It was hard to tell with Jack.

Jack smiled holding out his hand, "Lets shake on it then!" Jack said smiling happily. He was glad that Ianto accepted the dinner even if it was only as friends. If just friends was what it took then just friends was all right, for now.

Ianto reached out and shook Jack's hand, a small smile on his face. Though it was only there for a moment. "When would you like to do this?" he asked, ready to just go and get it over with. It would be awkward if it was a date. At least, he was hoping it wasn't. Just dinner with a friend, right? If not, he didn't know what he would do.

Jack smiled back at him, "Well if you are free tonight we could do it then, as long as there are no missions that get in the way before then..." He said grinning a bit. Just friends for now...but it could always become more. He wouldn't push though.

"I am free tonight. Let's hope there aren't any missions before tonight then." Ianto said. "Now then, if you don't need anything else, I would like to get some more work done before we leave." He told him, turning towards the door.
