The other day I was told my high school isn't like any other on the planet.
My school starts at 8 and ends at 3 with 4 classes a day including lunch.
We change those 4 classes with the beginning of a new semester.
We also have late start Wednesdays that begin at 10:30.
My boyfriend is from Tuscon and told me his school was totally not like that and neither was his school on Hawaii. My friend Haley told me her school was never like that either. I'm confuzzled because I thought a lot of schools worked like ours.
Maybe it is just us....hmmmm....
What is your school like? Are we alone?

o Ao; that is weird..
My school starts from 8:30 am and ends at 4:00pm..
It was going to be something like yours but
in the end they decided not to do it.
Instead of having 8 classes everyday..it would
of been 3 or classes one day and two the next
for different subjects.

My old school was like that though with a few differences here and there.
Thank god my last high school it was 9-3. 6 classes a day with a morning and afternoon break.

I've been out of school for years, but mine started at eight in the morning and ended at three in the afternoon. Four hours, half hour for lunch, half hour for study, then two more. It was steady like that the entire year, all through the week, but it forced students with detention to come in on Saturday for two hours at nine in the morning.

My school, since Ive been out for a few years, started at 8:50, and went to 3:30. We had 2 morning classes, lunch, and 2 afternoon classes. Though, for my senior year, I only had about 5 classes(3 first semester, 2 second semester;both morning) during regular hours, then band after school every day except Friday. Our classes were also only about 1.5hours long, roughly. And we had only 10minutes to get to our next class(which is hard when you go from one end of the school, to the other, and all the halls are crowded).

My first high school started sometime around 7 in morning. And ended some time around 2. I think we had about ... 6 classes.
My second high school started in the later half of 7 of in the morning and went until around 3. That one had an extra class, so 7, compared to the first high school.

Haha. That is a little different.
My school started at 7:30 a.m. and ended at three. We had four classes each day, but eight classes total. We would alternate which classes on which days. We also had short days on Wednesdays where school ended at 1:00 p.m. so that the teachers could have meetings after we left.
Come to think of it, mine's probably the oddest school out there.

Mine's pretty normal; it starts at 7:15, ends at 1:45, and we have six class periods and lunch. We only have 3 mintues between classes. You wouldn't believe how often I'm late. XD
However, I'm switching to a new school in 2 months. All I know is that they have 7 class periods and lunch, but I don't know when it starts or ends.

Mine starts at 8:35 and goes 'till 3:10. We have five, hour long, classes a day, and two 35 minute breaks. Fairly simple really, except that I take six classes, and so we have a two week timetable. For example, in week one I'll have Art History, a double period of graphics, chemistry and then english, but in week two on mondays, I have Art History, double graphics, English and then Religious studies. *shrugs* I told you it was weird.

So your school works in blocks, then? Yeah, I have a few friends who went to schools with blocks, mostly down south. c:
I went to a six-period school that started at 7:30 and ended at 2:00.

I'm not in school but it starts at 8:30 or 8 and we have three lunch periods that took an hour long, depending on which lunch period you got, 3rd, 4th or 5th. We had 7 or 8 classes including or excluding lunch, I've forgotten most things. o.o; Then school ends at 3:30, that's the same. =.=; Never heard of a school like yours.

My high school started at about 7am and ended around 2pm. We had like nine periods a day, and they didn't really change with semester. Only a select few classes ran for half the year. Each period was also 40 minutes long, and we had five minutes between classes. All the schools around here were like mine though. ;o
And you weren't forced to take any classes outside of the requirements, which didn't work by year but what you needed to have before graduation. So I just worked my butt of for the first three years, and as a result only had three periods senior year, so I got to leave school pretty early.

My high school was 7:00 - 13:45 and it was divided in to half hour for home room, then 8 x 45 minute classes and for some reason we'd have 15 minutes between the 2nd and 3rd period class.
English, Science and History and PE were double classes, so we'd alternate them throughout the week, was really confusing most of the time. Was a huge campus, so half the time I'd end up in completely the wrong place on the wrong day >.<
Also the way they did lunch was completely confusing. Out of the 8 periods a day, you'd get 1 called honorpass and that was your lunch, it could be any one of those 8, so some people got lunch first thing in the day (which would have sucked for them, fortunately never happened to me) then one other of those periods would be either study hall for anyone who had less than a C grade in any class, or a free period for those that were passing everything fine.
My freshman year was the best, I somehow managed to get the last two periods as honorpass and free period, so I finished my day at 12:15 :D Had to get a note from my guardian at the time so I could leave campus early and go home :)
We also had late starts on Wednesdays, but that was every other Wednesday.

Your school doesn't sound that different from mine, except we go from 8:00 in the morning to 3:15, and we have five classes per day.
Our classes change from semester-to-semester, too... I honestly thought it was like that everywhere. We have some that last only nine weeks, and some that last half the year.
At my school, though, we had different classes on different days only in freshman year, and you had to have all of your academic classes with the same people. It was pretty awful, really, but fortunately they only did that kind of schedule for freshmen.
I've never heard of starting late one day of the week, though... I kind of wish I went to your school. xD

That's weird. My high school had started at 7:17 am Monday-Friday and I got out at 1:55 pm, with four classes at an hour and a half each with a lunch in between the second and third periods.

I actually have something kinda sorta similar. Except I start earlier.
Mine goes from 7:30 - 2:15
4 classes a day, each 1 1/2 hours long
1 lunch period, 50 min. long
^^";;
However, we start at the same time every day....
And our classes are more like.... We have a set "A Day Classes" and "B Day Classes", so it just alternates like that. And when the new semester starts, I'll have two new classes, one that replaces a class in the "A Day" and one for the "B Day" 0.0

My (English) school worked as such:
Start at 9am, dinner at half 12 for 45 mins, then finish at 4 i think.
We had four lessons a day. That was pretty typical, thought i did know one that finished at 1 o clock on a Friday.

Not many are like that.
My school goes from 7:20 to 2:00. But I go to BOCES, so I have school from 7:20 to about 10:20, then lunch, and school again from 11:30 to 2:15.
I have Science, Math, Social Studies, and English for the first part and Carpentry for the rest of the day. Fridays, I have P.E. at BOCES. The normal school has the same 4 core classes and then electives, such as Art, Pottery, Music Theory, Architectural Drawing, Robotics, and Foreign Language.

My brothers' school is like that, where they are four classes a day and four different classes the next day. (A Day and B Day). Then Wednesday they have early out, which they come home at noon. It started two years after I graduated, so I'm still kind of like "What?" whenever my siblings explain it to me.

My schedule in high school went something like:
Get to school at 7:35-7:45 wait around homeroom until when classes start at 8. Classes go from 8 to 10:00, at which point we had Group Therapy, followed by lunch. Around 11:30 classes would start again and would go until 2:00. 2 to 2:15 was "wrap up" where we could have a 15 minute group, or do homework, or whatever. Then we'd leave. :B
