Odette was finishing up research in the ancient grove, trying to find translations on an ancient obliesk. She sighed and turned... "Well, there's nothing here that the king could possibly want." She fluttered about the space, curious as to why there were no dragons there protecting it. "Hm," she thought "perhaps the faeries can make a stronghold here and keep the dragons out on our own... perhaps we don't need an ancient secret. Though I doubt there's any hidden in these lands. Its just a pile of ruins."
She tried not to think badly of the place, for she knew it held a holy aura for her people. But Odette was never the religious type. She was just there to do her mission. As she was about to fly behind the trees, she heard a sound coming from the opposite end- the dragon side! At first she thought it was nothing.
She heard it again. A rustling noise.
Odette was never one to run from a battle, and she prepped her hands with a simple ice bolt. "That wasn't a woodland creature" she whispered. Faeries couldn't fly as high as dragons could, so taking to the sky was a suicide attempt. Instead she lowered herself to the ground and waited.
"Show yourself!" She shouted, and hurled the icebolt. Whatever it was, the frost attack missed it narrowly. "Dragon..." she said.
