I like spiders, but I'll admit the Brown Recluse is best left avoided. o~o They're highly aggressive.

Well, the heat we had in my little slice of the world made them have a population boom... We had a car drive through our yard one night, so went out to see what kind of damage was done, and my boyfriend got bit. It was very mild, thankfully, but it gave us quite a scare at the time.

..ooh wow..it's good that he's okay. o~o Personally, I've never gotten close enough to one, but I've seen them on television and the internet. It's interesting their nickname of Fiiddleback.

They have a violin-shaped marking on their back is why. We didn't even get to see the one that bit him, but the way the bite progresses is very unique to them.

As long as spiders don't bite me, I'm fine with them. I don't kill them unless I find one in the tub with me while I'm showering.

I don't allow them in my bedroom anymore, too many instances of waking up to them dropping on my face or crawling on me... Other than that, I leave them be.

Yes, it's interesting. At least they're not like the Black Widow, where you usually won't know you've been bitten till much later. If a Brown Recluse were like that..well..that wouldn't be good. o~o

Yes, Antagonist, both my boyfriend and I have had them crawling on us. The larger hunting spiders are the ones that tend to do that, even though we're on the second story of the building... The weavers tend to slowly drop from the ceiling towards our heads... I always check the ceiling before bed now.

Actually, Larele, the mark for a recluse shows up a few hours after the initial bite. It then progresses to a very tender bruise that can last for a week or more, if you're lucky. The not so lucky get a blister that starts slowly dissolving. We were lucky.
